Recently I had the great opportunity to interview Academy Award winning actor Ernest Borgnine in Atlanta. Known for his work in Marty, McHale's Navy, SpongeBob SquarePants, Airwolf, The Wild Bunch, The Dirty Dozen, and much more he's one of the most down to earth and engaging individuals around.

R.I.P Ernest! I’ve recently started to watch your films, I’ve enjoyed and loved all those I’ve seen so far. I can tell from your interviews and your travels on the bus, (The Sun Bum,) that you are a decent person, who loved life and your fellow human beings. You’ll always be remembered as a true movie star, and a kind gentleman.

I've been watching all his old movies and TV shows. He was (is) one of my favorite actors! Last saw him doing "Reds" with Bruce Willis,.. Gold Bless you Mr. Borgnine!

The old Hollywood actors were more humans than today’s actors.

Yeah, no joke. i've seen a profile of him on www.nndb.com .. and i think that he has one of the (if not THE) longest list of movies and tv-shows he's bin in and i wouldn't doubt that NNDB is missing on a few either. I first learned of him in the tv-series Airwolf and came across as the grandfather everyone wants to have. When i found out he played the bad guy, dirty cop ''lyle wallace'' in Convoy, it was awkward and hard to digest for me at first

I don't know if it's true or apocryphal but the story goes that local New Yawk TV legend Joe Franklin had Ernest on his interview show and introduced him as "Ernest Borg-ninny" and Borgnine just smiled and walked out.
