As a newer fan of Erra, hearing their older stuff is wild. This song is crazy. Reminds me of the Autotheism album by The Faceless. I mean, Impulse came out a year earlier, but the technical death metal vibe is similar. You don't hear this on a later album like Neon!
LYRICS Unconscious existence that lingers within, forget your inherent pride. Cling to the concept of perpetual grief and allow yourself to die. Hand over hand, you’ve made your way down to an altitude of disdain. Without neglect, perseverance became you, and you are now the same. Two In one, a mutual creature that I will not acquit. Enfold this gift of reassurance because you will soon have none of it. This, vowed by the ancestry of those displeased with your conduct. Disregard the messenger of wisdom, head his words. Reform and abduct. A conductor of the visionless will obscure his words to imprison. The sightless will follow without distraction and blindly innocent. A Conductor of the visionless will obscure his words to imprison. His dialect is fortified. Unconscious existence that lingers within, forget your inherent pride. His dialect is fortified by misunderstanding and confusion. Those following will be absolved of their existence, and the survivors living in delusion. This, vowed by the ancestry of those displeased with your conduct. Disregard the messenger of wisdom. Hand over hand, you’ve made your way down to an altitude of disdain
Impulse and Augment will always be ERRA's best work in my eyes. You just can't compete with what Garrison and Alan have brought to his band. I will admit that the new LP has done much more than Drift and Neon though.
Out of all the Erra songs I love, this one is probably my all-time favorite. One long string of ugly, dissonant riffs that somehow sound truly beautiful when put together; and I agree with others that the outro in this song is one of the most magical moments I've ever heard.
i wanna hear elitist collab with sean hall from elitist, you guys probably have the best moldy out there and hes probably the most technical, id literally cry if i heard that
Really not understanding what I'm saying huh...? This band is consistently good, whole album is good. Granted this is an opinion but I don't think BOO consistently good, I was using one of their shitty overplayed songs as an example. And technically they've only got 2 albums their other one is considered an ep. "lol"...
Also comparing a band that has written three killer albums compared to a band that released one killer album its a fact that Boo would be more "consistent" if you wanna get technicial about it.
