The only problem we have here in spain is that the music industry isnt about the voice or the music, its all about contacts. The industry works for the family.
Ruth Lorenzo is one of the most amazing and versatile artists I know. She also participated (and won) the TV program Tu cara me suena (the Spanish version of your face sounds familiar) you can check some performances and you will realize how complete artist she is. Not only as a singer but also as an actress. Dancing in the rain was in my top 5 in 2014.
Besides the vocals, I like that she actually got her hair wet to bring it all to life. Besides 2012, this is one of my favorite Spanish entries in the decade. Did you know she competed on the UK version of X-Factor? I mean she wasn’t a runner up like Saara Aalto but top 5 is great! So the hosts are next and they decided on a poor man’s Bruno Mars. Very catchy though.
@@BeeRodz WHAT How can he possibly tie with Ruth? She was so much better! Also, doesn't it make more sense if the one performing first will be higher on the scoreboard?
I KNEW YOU WILL LIKE IT!!! It is my favourite song from my country with Quedate conmigo (2012) and the one from 1995. In 2014 denmark (in 9th place) and spain had the same points so I like to think we ended 9th hahaha but yeah tbh we deserved more that year! the song was good and Ruth's vocals were amazing!
My winner this year and also my favourite spanish entry, everything about it is stunning 😍. Spain overall is one of my favourite Eurovision countries. You have reacted to all of my favourites from 2014 now but there's still a few good songs in the top 10.
Ruth had a very cute owl dress during the rehearsals!! I was worried about the vocals but Ruth proved me wrong! She was amazing!!! Btw, Albania gave their 12 points to Spain in 2014!
Ruth Lorenzo!!! No comments! Her performance and her voice are always in our hearts, she did the best performance for Spain in the last 10 years. She's just a star!! 10th place wasn't enough for all of us, but enough for her and her career. Spain 2014. Ruth Lorenzo. ¡TE QUEREMOS!
Another song from that year that’s still in my playlist. 2014 has the most retainers in my phone. It was a great two years in Eurovision one after another. 2014 was more diverse and a bit crazy. Pure Eurovision. Later years countries started to conform more. Still plenty of good songs but less diversity. In 2014 you could throw a dart at a board with music styles and chances are you’d find a song in that style.
I watched this eurovision in 2014, She is the only one I remember and actively looked for after the competition. She did an amazing music video to this as well. I really think she should have gotten better than 10th as well. She is amazing. 🥰
YEEEEEEEESSSSSS I WAS WAITING FOR THIS SINCE EVER. She came 5th in X Factor UK 2008 although she had no British fans (she wasn't famous even in Spain). She earned them! She wanted real rain (not exactly rain, just water) on stage but the EBU didn't allow it (understandable, it'd be a mess with the following song's staging), so they used special effects and she went on stage with her hair wet from right before performing. Queen. And yes, tenth place was a low place. Also, yes, Ruth is very successful in Spain.
This song is listened on one breath, from the first second till the last. Deserved a higher place, at least in TOP-5. And, of course, her voice. No, like this: HER VOICE!
My winner that year!! Such a beautiful and spectacular song, and I absolutely loved it from the very first time I heard it 😍😍 Never fails to give me goosebumps!! And her live vocals was incredible, probably the best one that year😍❤
I used to really dislike this song, but four years on I have found a brand new appreciation. Idk, maybe I thought it was boring and it does commit one of my Eurovision pet peeves of changing between languages so you don't understand parts of the song after understanding fully before. I prefer when it sticks to one language. But the singer is incredible, one of the best that night.
Ruth is awesome, so many of us already knew she could perform due to X-Factor and then once you heard the song it was like yeah, that's your stand out song of 2014, plus she was by far the best vocalist that year.
Ah.......the much "always underrated" Spain Ruth Lorenzo is stunning and what a performer!! She elevates a rather simple song qith magnificent vocals and she has stage presence in bucket loads! Well done Spain....top 10.position?...totally deserved!!👍👍
Ruth Lorenzo contest in the spanish tv show "You face sound familiar" and she won, of course. Search her performances with the label "Tu cara me suena Ruth Lorenzo..." And example: Look Ruth Lorenzo imitating Whitney Houston search "Tu cara me suena I have nothing"
ITS UNIQUE RUTH LORENZO AND A GRAN PERSON AND BAREI IN EUROVISION IS VERY IMPRESIONANT AND WE LOVE IN SPAIN BAREI AND RUTH LORENZO IN EUROVISION AND LATER THIS SONGS , OUT OF EUROVISION LATER AND IN EUROVISION AND BAREI IS IMPRESIONANT PERSON SO NICE AMAZING
To be honest It’s the first time that I watched that performance from the beginning to the very end 😂😂 And I’m shocked, that I’m going to watch it again and again
Hi, Jake. I know you really enjoy her! She is a great singer, but not too popular, sadly. The Spanish eurofans specifically supports her career. Since Ruth, Spain never reached more than the 21st position... Maybe with another great singer, in fact, our national TV preselected one of our better voices with a very personal style, Diana Navarro... but with the successful of OT and Amaia, TVE decided selected only between the childs of this program.
Thanks a lot...I love Ruth, Pastora, Anabel Conde...but could you react to Monica Naranjo, she has not been to Eurovision but she has an AMAZING voice, react to EUROPA live
What do you think that ruth wants to return to Eurovision, and in Spain they want to send a newsinger from "Operación triunfo" ( like Amaia and Alfred)
The song is good but not fabulous - - > The performers made it fabulous. Amazing Ruth. Amazing backing vocalists. Spain should have been Top 3. Great reaction, Jake
Please react to Jessica Mauboy's song from 2014. Australia was invited to perform as an interval act that year and that's where it all started. Would love to hear your opinion on Sea Of Flags Vs We Got Love!
When you compare the quality of this performance and song with Austria (the winner), it's clear to me that people do not always vote based on the music.
@@nilerra8181 Don't get me wrong! Austria was good (fitting Bond movie theme), but I don't believe they would have won if Conchita wasn't a drag artist. It was the beard lady aspect which grabbed all the attention and made it stand out. On a technical level, Spain is much more impressive - particularly in the vocal department. I don't know how you can argue otherwise.
Kennet Yep that's for sure. Austria won thanks to Conchita. But nobody wins Eurovision just for the song.. we know that :) It's the whole feeling and impact that makes you win. People need to feel something and then they vote for you.. that's why Austria won that year. If her song was bad or boring, she wouldn't have won tho. And yep Ruth' vocals were great but Conchita had great vocals as well.
Interesting. So far, I have reviewed all the contests from 2011-2018 and 1956-1966, and 2014 was one of the worst years to me. Different people, different tastes. :-) Currently reviewing 1967 and I'm lovin' it!
