The funny thing is, in the Alien game on the c64, getting Jones acts as a warning. He acts up if the alien is in a room next to the one the person is carrying him is in.
Ripley: (reads that she'll have 10 minutes before the ship explodes, with 5 minutes of time to turn off the self-destruct. Activates self destruct.) Mother: Danger! The emergency destruct system is now active. The ship will detonate in T-minus 5 minutes. Also Ripley: What the-where is my 10 minutes?! MOTHER?! (No answer) YOU BITCH!
Awww... they missed the "fooomp" sound when the cylinders are pulled out. Hope they add that. See the "reel" scene fir what I'm referring too. Otherwise... beyond incredible graphics and sequence! Who could imagine we would be able to actually relive Ripleys escape in such mind-bending detail? All under * our * control and PoV! Is this available for VR? Picture VR with hot air blown into you face representing flames and scents emitted representing burning machine oil, the flame thrower - and whatever the alien would smell like!
Other games: use key, press big red button This game: -pull 4 levers at the other end of the room -press a randomly generated combination of buttons -(4×times) insert the key, lift the button, open its cover and press it That's what I understand, protection
OMG! I hadn't seen nor played this DLC...damn! I felt my heart about to bust out of me! This was excellent, as the original movie this contained the fear factor still in it but multiplied by 10 as it makes you feel right in there! Wow...it's still the best yet!
That's how it was in the movie, though she ran into it before she could reach the shuttle, you did it perfectly.. it built suspense in the original by not knowing where it was.
I used to have vivid dreams of waking up in the winding corridors of the nostromo completely lost with this siren blaring with only 10 minutes to escape and I’d never be able to find the escape pod
Yes.. I did missed that too. I do not mind certain liberty with the content but that was definitely a miss. The T -10 minutes situation added more terror to the scene knowing your only escape was now your doom. Nonetheless an awesome DLC that respected the franchise very well. AI is truly a master piece. Thank you Creative Assembly!
It doesn't make much sense for it to be 10 minutes in the DLC. Since you can scare off the Alien with the flamethrower, there is no need to run back to try shutting off the self destruct. So 5 minutes makes more sense overall. Although part of me does wish it was 10 minutes for movie accuracy.
Those smokey hallways are super well made in this game all that noise going on it's so eerie and then you see the Alien and then you don't it's like FUCK
Just played this game for the first time the other day all the way through. My fucking God...this was one of the most intense things I have played...and I played on bitch mode.
In the event that catastrophic engine failure would cause a catastrophic collision- ie with a space station, planetary port or other vessel. Any vessel with a fusion reactor is a giant nuclear bomb. Any such vessel would of course legally require a scuttle fail-safe.
I am sure they would of gotten Helen Horton to reprise her role for this but sadly she passed away in 2007, 7 years and one month before the release of Isolation.
