Eternal Damnation is like what people who have only had Postal 2 described to them think the game is actually about. Where the things they come up with in their heads are somehow 10 times more laughable and ridiculous than the reality. Then again, the desire for a big tiddy goth girlfriend is the most realistic thing about this.
Ever since the first Postal came out I have gotten free amusement at talking heads feigning outrage at what was- even then- what looks like a LEGO guy rambling around actual paintings. Those same plastic losers are whining about dogshit like Hatred.
Discord IS Postal Jon the admin: But femboys James Me: FEMBOYS AREN'T REAL JON really neither are Nazbols. They're just...whiny fascists Jon: So you're siding with the libertarians? How is that better?
Everything about this mod has the vibe of "2005ish small town edgelord makes a mod." The vibe is powerful. Reminds me of dudes I'd paintball with near end of highschool who never escaped.
returnofbeaux There is something very annoying about that animation, especially since there is no timing offset so all characters rock at the same time.
@@fearanger1 They didn't; Rick Hunter did (and still does) TV pickups as part of his job. Here's an example: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pB8feDXWRac.html
This isn't Shadow the Hedgehog at all. That would be both his Ion Maiden video and if he did a Marathon Infinity episode and a ROTT 2013 one. This is clearly a Painkiller review on a Pro Postal video. No, I'm not joking.
"If you just install the free version of Postal 2: Share The Pain" Remind me why Civvie is locked up again, because this is some heroic help #FreeCivvie
@@TypeKK this, postal 1 had the disturbing journal entries and the school attack that was I’ll call a reasonable amount of edge this is like over the top, almost comedic levels of edge
Meta edge: Why make zombies? They attack you. Turn them into turtles or something. Turtles are harmless. Underage turtles. Teenage mutant ninja turtles one could say
My God the edge; it's like every single trope you could expect from fan fiction by 14 year olds at once, even the ones which don't make any sense together.
So the moral of the story is the developer went through a bad breakup and he really needs to join a cry circle before he starts carving her name into his victims.
Its all about presentation, postal dude is an asshole, but an asshole killing murderous assholes that are worse than him and in over the top stupid cenarios. Here is taken as it is, without the humour and all serious, makingthe violence just that: violence
"Is it because she pretended to be a witch?" "No John - she was raped..." "What?" I fucking spat out my ice tea all over my laptop at this convo - both the completely emotionless delivery and the fact that this line was used in is a postal zombie apocalypse mod was the funniest thing in the universe to me
Try listen the voice acting in other laguages, for example my language-polish, sounds way better and has emotions and expressions that original don't have, by the way sorry for my bad english
It's still beautiful to me how smoothly they bring up subtle habits of characters never being caught dead buying or spilling water. Makes the reveal that much sweeter.
“Who gave these medical professionals meat cleavers?” Me, I’m a surgical technologist, also for legal reasons you must refer to them as “amputation knives”.
@Civvie 11 I had a fucking moment of "WAIT A MINUTE..." remember how in postal 2, you need 2 headshots to down anyone, you mentioned it in apocalypse weekend? making the pistol in this mod fire two shots is the poor man's answer to that, as well as increasing damage outright.
I'd safely say the late 90s/early 00s PC, XBox, and Ps1/2 games definitely were the heyday of unapologetic digital gorefests. Child mortality and dismemberment (up to using people's arms and heads as weapons in just about every other game) were fine -- this was when the pendulum was back on sex vs violence, maybe.
After getting a point blank shotgun blast to the face. I was gonna use rockets/explosives, but gibs are still a thing in modern-day triple A shooters right?
This mod has to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen. The fact that they thought it could be taken seriously when the baseball bat uses the vanilla postal 2 sound effect gives me so much joy.
in the original postal 2 world in paradise lost you can find john's character model in the insane asylum looking for AC parts. He's something of a miniboss
The guy who did John's voice acting sounds like he was drinking a Rockstar Energy while wearing a Tapout shirt. I'm surprised you can't hear the Limp Bizkit playing in the background every time he speaks
"this is a healthy relationship" Yeah, If i saw a semi-crazy dude and a chick that used to practice the acult act super chill to each other? damn i'd say the same thing.
A story for the ages Also I like how when the main character got his noggin chopped off it used a frying pan sound effect kinda reminds me of the original Ring
All the Bible references in this mod remind me of the early 2000's edgy atheist kid that only read the first page of google for "Why the bible is fake" and thought they were cool.
Huh. Thought you were going to wait for the remake before looking at this. I have bad memories about playing the fudge pack version of this mod. The Elevators in the museum... _The Elevators in the museum..._ They're too fast... So many deaths...
It's not an UZI it's an Ingram MAC 11, which is a scaled down version of the MAC 10 and shoots either a .380 ACP round or 9mm parabellum. The former is ideal for combining with the sound suppressor, as .380 ACP is subsonic ammunition, registering much quieter than the latter 9mm.
The amount of people in the comments taking this mod's edginess at face value is astounding. Y'all never stop and consider that this all might be intentionally over the top edgy?
Man, not even i7, 32GB RAM and GF 1080 would help, even if you look at the wall or floor. Untextured lever? Just like in Arx Fatalis. Man, good game and Crypt is SPOOKY like, really.
Okay, but how cool would it have been if on the newscaster at some point mentions something to the effect of “Trenchcloaked lunatic runs rampant molesting cats with guns and pissing on neighbors!” Ya know, just for a little extra continuity.
19:38 - This 'realization' section with everything coming together is strikingly similar to something that happens in _Hunter: The Reckoning,_ which came out in 2002.
Played it recently, and even Civvie's summary don't prepared me to how crazy it is. Already at the start you get the meat cleaver from a "psycho punk" who got a ton of health and outdamage you (have fun on hard), there's an 8 foot tall "military zombie" before the graveyard who can be disarmed and demonic hippos on the sewers (as well a cheap jumpscare) It got pretty hard combats like when you fight 10 Swat dudes at the second level, through they are Postal 2 AI, so if you get far enough they just forget about you, and, of course, you got akimbo glocks. It only crashed twice to me, which is the most surprising thing
@@zoltancsikos5604 I mean weed has medicinal properties for people with chronic pain and some other illnesses and it's a lot more healthier than what doctors give you with less serious side effects so yeah it kinda is in that regard.
Now this is, what should be/have the alternate title of "Brutal Postal" as if it wasn't brutal enough. Also, how's Discord coming along and Total Chaos comes out on Halloween, so how do you feel about that?
The music at 4:35 was made by my mum! She had a punk band called Squad 69 and they're in the credits under special thanks. My uncle worked on this game and went on to work at RWS under the codename Toploader, having a big role in designing Paradise Lost. Also there's an npc in Paradise Lost playing guitar on a porch. The music he's playing is a recording of my dad.
There's a term for edgy shit like this: pizza cutter; it's all edge with no point. You know, the reason Edgelords are laughed at. The fact that it takes itself so seriously is humorous to me, everything else is actually rather boring (extra ludicrous gibs notwithstanding.)
This weirdly reminds me of that Half Life horror mod that was about a drug addict escaping a hospital while avoiding monsters. Edit: Afraid of Monsters is what I was trying to remember!
Haha wow, I remember I was posting on the Postal 2 forums when this mod was being made, and it was this big deal for all these people there, and I remember never playing it because I was already sick of zombies back then... my machine probably wouldn't have run it anyway but I never found out haha. I also remember Mike Jarrett and other devs were super active in the forums, like they'd get to know regulars on the boards and occasionally give their usernames these little subtitles... like I remember one guy had emblazoned beneath his name for all time: "Got hooked on smack... in REHAB!!" Hahaha and it was true too (to be fair tho, rehab is super boring)
"I don't believe in paying for something you can get for free" YOU PAY FOR THE DAMN WATER BILL......so getting water from the sink falls under that........WTF?
"You gotta play Unreal on a Voodoo 2 card, it's magical. It's so fuckin' cool." Can confirm. Had a Voodoo 2. I've replayed Unreal a dozen times since, and still cant get it to look the way it did back then. The weird frame timing and pixelation was fucking glorious, and there's a reason indies try to emulate it now.
I don't know what's worse; the writing, or the line delivery. Kind of sad, because I remember hating this for being so linear and edgerrific, but I followed the development so closely, and I can't remember her name, the lady who voiced the big tiddy goth GF was a postal league player with some other voice acting credits someplace. I'm pretty sure her face is one of the RWS forum VIPs that ended up being incorporated into the game.
This is one of the mods I had helped a bit with production. Years ago when steam engined games were big in the modding scene and postal 2 had an alive scene as well, I hopped back and forth between projects just kind of lending whatever help I could for the fun of it. The team responsible for this game were a fantastic group of people, really skilled creators. There were things that were tough to make or get around but, at the end it was great. It wasn't supposed to be a 'serious' mod like one of the commenters said. After all. It's postal 2. We all understood the game much more than people nowadays looking retrospectively at it, I assure you.
