Hailyn, you are such a brave, gorgeous young woman! I appreciate your struggle to stick to your Ethiopian heritage and culture. Your adoptive mom is also a brave one in how she tried to connect you to your unique Ethiopian heritage. It needs some courage for both of you to come up with such issues in public. Hopefully, it gives insights into what adoptees go through. Thank you! Keep Shining, and still, you have time to embrace your beautiful Ethiopian Identity, including the faith you were born in. Ethiopian Orthodox is not just a faith but it embeds the culture and heritage in it.

I've seen both the positive and challenging experiences of adopted kids from Ethiopia. You're fortunate to have had the opportunity to do this with your adoptive mom, which reflects her kindness and nurturing nature. No matter how much adoptive parents try to make things right, the feelings and experiences of adoptees can be unique and complex. It's important to acknowledge that your feelings about the adoption process are valid. What you're doing is truly remarkable-you're giving a voice to those who were adopted, especially from Ethiopia, and they might see your journey and realize they're not alone. Great job, and I look forward to your next video! Fellow Ethiopian living in Washington DC area.

What you said is spot on-a lot of people don’t understand that adoption can be both good and challenging at the same time. I’m really excited to share the other stories because they’ve given me new perspectives beyond just my own and shown just how complex adoption can be. I truly appreciate your support!

It may seem that way, but we don’t know what situation could have complicated their relationship. Part of it could be the sexual abuse she experienced as a child. By the way Ethiopia is not poor. It is rather naturally rich but have no time to explore and use its resources including its intellegent people due to contoversies created and given to us from time to time. I hope we can break this vicious cycle with the help of our Lord and Father in heaven in the near future.

Ethiopia is light of the world once the darknesss disperses away! It's because Ethiopia is enormous, huge, and so the enemy must paint Ethiopia as poor and weak as he would like other people to assume it is. Economic growth and prosperity are no meausure! True Wealth is in the life after because people liveon and eternity is endless, a lot longer than this illusion people can't comprehend. Ethiopia is rich! Ethiopia is the spiritual bigining of mankind and the guide to this misguided generation into the real life, life that has meaning than what the eye meets or what the mainstream media is! Reach out, find out, and read ancient ethiopian manuscripts such as the book of Enoch. Ethiopia is zion, and her enemy can only fabricate and propogate false narrative because Ethiopia represents the holy grail in knowledge to keep mankind alive even after we die..its where humanities spiritual information is stored that connects us to the very creator of the universe and beyond.

Not all Ethiopia are poor it is just that government doesn't help the way USA government help their peoples for example a person want to go college need help right? So usa government help the needs so he can go college and graduate and get jobs also if a person have to pay for college doesn't have to pay full payments this person pay every months or years until pay all. The other one when you buy food or clothes here it is cheaper because government pay half of it but in Ethiopia government doesn't cover for us like Americans do. In USA if cloth sale for $100 ,$1000 would you buy it if government doesn't cover half of it?

First of all, you are very gorgeous 😍😍😍 like you have the typical Habeshan beauty features i am sure you could win us the title Miss World from Ethiopia 🇪🇹👸🏽if you ever felt like you wanted to 🤩🤩🤩... I just came across this video and was impressed that you decided to tell your honest perspective being vulnerable and open with your sweet caring Mom 🥰🥰🥰 who was willing to do this heart-to-heart conversation that is difficult & deeply personal on the Topic of Adoption that was glamorized to be good(esp. International adoption) till recently how it could have a lifetime impact on the children growing from all the cultural differences & racial discrimination they are obliged to deal at such tender age though we still appreciate the ones like your parents with genuine kind intentions for giving a better opportunity for kids in unfortunate living conditions in third world country like Ethiopia. 🙏🙏🙏So this is truly an eye-opener which i am excited to listen to part 2 🤗🤗🤗 I believe you are on mission to give a chance for all Adoptee kids with the platform you created to share their story and their take on it and find a means for collective understanding & healing by looking for alternative ways to give all children great chances without having to strip them from their community & identity like what you guys are doing with your Futprint Charity Organization. 👏👏👏I Look foreward to the growth of your Channel and the influence it will have in bringing forth change for Ethiopian Kids Adopted or living in Orphanages. Keep shining beautiful ✨✨✨Much love, from Ethiopia 💚💛❤️

That was definitely a great conversation. It is nice & uplifting to see a successful adoption stories for I've seen more than a handful of heartbreaking stories for Habesha & other African adopted kids in the US and some Scandinavian countries... Heartwarming stories give me hope for humanity. Thank you for sharing & God bless your large family.

Thank you for your support! In Part 2, we dive into the tougher aspects of our adoption journey but focus on how we’ve overcome the obstacles. I believe one of the issues is that we aren’t having enough of these difficult conversations within our families and communities, and we need to do better to break the cycle of abuse. I’m grateful to be in a healthy space where I can share my story alongside my mom.

It was interesting to hear your story. I lived in SLC when you all came and heard your story from Tsegaye, who was a close friend of mine. I was truly shocked by the number of kids they adapted. Now, I have retired and live in Ethiopia. I hope all of you are doing very well. I raise my hat to your mam and dad, especially to your mam, since she carried most of the burden of raising you. I will forward this clip to Tsegaye, who lives in Seattle. He will be interested to know of your story.

Oh, I would love that! We used to keep in touch when we were younger but lost contact over the years. Tsegaye was such a big part of our adoption story, and we all have fond memories of him. Please tell him he's missed, and I'd love to reconnect!
