Hah! Naruto! Plebe. Everyone knows that real men watch One Piece from episode 1 even though most of its arcs could be watched standalone and work. Just like you watch Etho from Episode 1 for entertainment, because most stuff can be picked up so long as you see the start of the project.

I guess i am a real man then? I downloaded, organized, and watched every episode of one piece to date, and am currenlty in the process of watching the movies. Can't say i've enjoyed watchin all 782 episodes of one piece as much as i've enjoyed watching all 500 episodes of shippuden and the beginning of boruto. :P

2 weeks since episode 487 (last episode), 3 weeks since episode 486. There's usually a few days between episodes, but he said he took a few days off.

He's really enjoying modded right now. I can't blame him, there is just so much more to do in those series.

And yet jetpacks and potions are still super tedious and often annoying to get. Lots of mods give them to you easily, but they aren't popular because that undermines their worth.

The recent crafting recipes for the more complex stuff cannot be figured out through sheer intuition. As an somewhat old Minecraft player, the majority of crafting recipes I learnt were from watching Let's Plays of MC. Maybe is this was back in Alpha when there weren't many materials and the craftable items near matched their crafting recipes, sure. It's hasn't been the same for years.

Next they will make mobs weaker :-(

Its more to do with the fact that he has less and less stuff to record about. 488 episodes!

Obeytheknight Cody well overtime he runs out of easy/basic builds and has to do big projects that take much more time.

if you have watched his videos for a while you would have heard him say that we spends hours and hours working on his episodes between working off-camera and editing and the recording. He also has a real life (I think)

Dorian Costley well, you can create a world with the Bonus chest option. but still. its not. challenge for you anymore to discover the recipes. but for nee players nowadays its pain in the sitter to handle all the new dtuff in the game. this new system will help them a lot. :)

I think it's nice to see comments like yours that are critical of the new system, but express it in a calm, reasonable way. And I really agree, I remember my first time playing and the enthusiasm with which I tried out new patterns in the crafting table :) At the same time, I feel like the crafting has become for many just tedium that got reduced with this update. Probably a more elegant way of implementing the system could have been that, starting a new world, you have to discover the recipe for the first time yourself before it gets added to the book. I'm actually surprised this isn't the case.

Ign: SaveingWolf That's what I said when they added the crafting dragging controls a while ago, crafting should be as tedious as possible. Personally, I think they should remove the ability to put down single items and force you to only be able to split stacks.

I completely agree. The fun of the game, back in alpha and before the wiki, everything was a mystery and you felt achieved in figuring things out on your own. Now the game holds your hand and gives you a pat on the back for every step you make.

Precisely how I feel. It was tolerable on console because it aided in the limited controls. This just feels wildly unnecessary and dumbs down the game.

I've been playing since 1.2.5, and almost quit early on because I didn't know anything. And don't say that I needed to install NEI, because I had no clue mods were even a thing back then. The way they implemented it is weird, but it's completely optional. This same exact "no change" argument has been around for almost every single update since the games 1.0 release. Hell, pistons were very controversial when they first came out. If you don't want to use the new crafting, then don't use it. Eventually people will learn the recipe because they still see it. This doesn't force you to use the crafting system, it simply makes it easier for new players to advance in the game. Your grandparents lived without internet, does that mean you shouldn't use internet because that was the "charm" back in the day? No, the internet makes everything easily accessible from everywhere without having to go to a library and taking notes from a book. It's almost the same thing here, except with crafting recipes. I absolutely hate having to open google every time I want to make a block that I don't craft regularly like a jukebox. It's stupid that you have to open a 3rd party program just to craft something, and I think this new crafting system will help a lot. Get off your nostalgia high horse and realize that this is for the better. If you don't want to use it, then don't click the button. Simple as that.

I agee with your point, but also I see it as very helpful to new players/younger players. But as someone who has played sinced infdev.. I find it pointless for me.

Because Mojang doesn't care about people who have played for 6-7 years. They will always come back if needed. They're focusing on bringing new people in, like any smart game developer should do. I understand keeping people around is good, but Minecraft will always have the fanbase that complains about everything, so they're focusing on bringing new people so they can both continue to make money from the game and also keep the game alive and evolve it once people like us lose interest. As pointless as it may be, it takes away from using JEI every time and even if you hate it, again don't use it. Simple as that.

And, what is wrong with that? One less custom written batch of code to worry about crashing your world or lagging your computer. :D PC had no way of knowing recipes, and put off many people from playing it. How do you craft something you don't know what it is? Also, the reason why many people don't play pc is because they don't want to remember the recipes. Well, now there is a solution for that.

I relies that is will be helpful for a lot of people but as someone that has played minecraft since 2012, I don't need it. I also don't like the mobile version because it has always been behind and it's not as easy to move or build. I have never had to worry about remembering recipes because I have crafted everything so much. I understand where you are coming from and I agree, but I am just sharing the opinion of a veteran minecraft player.

I think an in-game repository of recipes is great. Some gradual way of unlocking them might be better, but the update is still young. It's the ability to skip the recipe completely that I don't like.

I agree, I have been playing the game for a very long time myself (Beta 1.7/8 just before creative mode,) and to be honest, I see every step Mojang take as a step forward - I actually like the ideas they are having to make the game a bit more friendly, but skill is still required in other areas such as PvP which I much prefer over who has the fastest mouse clicks.

Its just way more fun to find these things out. The fun of learning to make things, teaching friends, searching how to do things. That was why i liked terrafirmacraft so much, it was like playing mc all over again, not knowing and being a total noob once more Sure maybe they can build the wiki inside the client somehow (maybe like steam, maybe like nei "help mode" or something, maybe like in total war shogun 2)

It's been out for years with millions of sales...we know how to craft and it's all over the internet by now, this update just doesn't suit minecraft at all.
