Today we travel a circuitous route to explore this region. We first stop at Halle, the northern end of one of DB's newer high-speed lines. Then on to Zwickau, a terminal that harkens back to the days of DB steam. Next a branch line diesel railcar to the village of Aue where we board a tram-train to Chemnitz. Finally, we spend a pleasant evening watching trains at the impressive Dresden Hauptbahnhof.
