@@PoeticDreamfor sure, I let out a similar scream, and for equally happy reason, he’s my 7th/37 and I felt it was a contender to be last place in the semi… I am beyond happy even still that I was proven wrong 😊
@ShengBoah Happy to hear someone likes our Entry instead of saying that it's the most boring song this year. I also was very happy and shocked, because I actually was crossing out Latvia from my list of qualifiers and then I yelled WHAAAT? NO WAY! When I heard qualification.
Every country who qualified: "YES! We got through!" Latvian commentator: "YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
@@conormcevoy8974 1. innocent till proven guilty 2. why not simply let the stand-in perform? i mean his team and delegation did nothing wrong and netherlands is not killing thousands at the moment or posing a threat to the contest's safety with its mere participation 😒
@@conormcevoy8974 sure lets take all the blame away from the person that provoked it all in the first place by making jokes about his DEAD FATHER, which is an absolutely disrespectful and provoking thing to do
I think san Marino are in their own world often. I mean this and riding a bull woul NEVER make it . The songs are really bad. The performance is okey but you need a song
Shoutout to the Latvian commentator who had overseen 6 non-qualifications from his commentary box but finally got to hear his country read out during the qualifiers reveal.
I love the French-speaking commentators of RTS so much... THOSE GUYS (plus one woman whose name I forgot I'm so sorry) WROTE A FUCKING EUROVISION BIBLE COVERING EACH YEAR BETWEEN 1956 AND 2017. It has anecdotes and interviews of contestants in there, even from the first ever winner who passed away in 2018!
I'll say this... I'm Portuguese and I am very proud of Georgia in recent history... first they managed to qualify for the first time to the UEFA Champions league and now they managed to qualify for the final... I'm not sure how long will this glow-up phase will last but I can say I am very proud of them
@@dramaticScarUEFA Euro=European Championship (National teams tournament held every 4 years since 1960 (2020 was held 2021)) UEFA Champions League=club tournament held every year since 55/56 season. That is football in Europe both club and national team.
😂 It's so true, too. I feel like we keep trying to copy Sweden but don't do that as well, so it just becomes a mediocre, harmless song that conforms just as much as Danes do, to the idea of what we believe Eurovision should be. It's honestly a little sad to see.
@@ninaschneidermann1558Let's be honest. The songs that you send wouldn't even make it to the final in Melodifestivalen 😅 If you're trying to copy us, you really do a bad job at it haha
It's nice when a commentator gives an honest opinion. While Denmark didn't qualify, they won the whole contest when it came to tourism dollars earned in Copenhagen.
In the part marked as [unintelligible], San Marino's commentators refer to when the orchestra of Sanremo Festival 2010, threw the scripts in the air (my previous comment got deleted by youtube for including a link)
I'm almost forgot that there is another historical fun fact that this is the first ever year since the introduction of semi-finals in 2004 that Georgia, Latvia and The Netherlands all qualified together in the same Semi-Final!
4:00 "Eccolo!" Not the commentator misgendering their own representative 💀 To be fair, italian is a heavily gendered language, and using 100% neutral words while speaking is really difficult, in this case, for example, in English you would just say "here they are" instead of "here he/she is" but in Italian you have to say either "eccolo" or "eccola" (male and female respectively), and there isn't really a third possibility, cause "eccoli" or "eccole" are plural forms so they would make no sense, and in the written form you can use ə or * (so eccolə or eccol*) but it would sound absolutely unnatural to use these while speaking...I hope in the future all gendered languages will evolve in a way that will make it possible to use gender neutral pronouns, names and adjectives 🥰
yeah it's an interesting discussion! it will be interesting to see how things evolve and what sort of standards become the norm in different languages when referring to someone who is nonbinary. like some of the languages lack gender entirely like estonian, some have a functional neuter gender but it only matters for singular and plural like romanian and some have very complex grammatical rules like czech or polish.
It would be so much easier to get rid of gender stereotypes instead of putting behaviour and appearance into any frames of sex and pronouns trying to fit in
0:06 Ooh, the climax in bed. 8:10 The Danish Slump will continue until DMGP needs an overhaul...and let Simone Egeriis perform. Thank you ESC Discord for not featuring a certain country's reaction. We love you!
Pretty much the first thing they did after being back in the studio is talking about the security and the politics. They didn't want to mention it beforehand. But that's what you get when Switzerland, Austria and Germany do this show together. Don't be too happy because the other two did not win.
The Armenian Commentators were wrong! Because this is only the 2nd time that Armenia was announced last and the 1st time was on their debut year back in 2006 in Athens with André and "Without Your Love".
I agree. I guess since the last few years the "ESC fans" have become disgusting hateful idiots that prefer to live in their mindset bubble and they can't accept facts that don't fit their views. Israel competed. Period. No matter whether you like it or not.
Most of ESC "fans" have become hateful idiots, now they have problems to pronounce anything that is associated with *jumpscare alert* ISRAEL, they put hate above the facts that Israel competed whether they liked it or not. Shame on them.
So glad Israel didn't win in the final. There have been so so so many issues this year, so I decided I would make a list: Israel being allowed to compete (obviously), Serbia not showing Poland in Semis, Italy 'accidentally' releasing televote points, Netherlands being kicked out (regardless of if something happened there are STILL not even charges). EBU's treatment of the situation has and is still horrendous, letting Israel in and then complaining that people don't want them, downplaying protests and threatening participants to comply. Bambie Thug was forced to miss some rehearsals when Israel broke rules of conduct (more info pending), and the EBU released contradictory statements and is now silent. Martin, I think your time is up!
Not to mention how they did literally nothing about Israeli journalists harassing other journalists and delegates as well as filming delegates regardless of whether or not they told them to stop
@@neconeconeco The story didn't catch on ig?!? Also to add to the list, they censored Iolanda's performance because of the Palestinian patterns on her nails, not uploading the grand final performance for quite some time until after the show. She was legitimately discriminated against, and RTP is considering a formal complaint!
@questionmark3219 actually there IS a public German-speaking Belgian broadcaster, BRF, the thing is unlike RTBF (French-speaking Belgian broadcaster) and VRT (Dutch-speaking Belgian broadcaster), BRF doesn't broadcast the Eurovision Song Contest because it's not even a EBU member for some reason.
Such a wonderful video and congratulations to everyone, well deserved. However, did anybody else feel like Marina's reaction was a bit arrogant? Feels like she did not feel very grateful for the votes unlike everybody else. Like she saw it coming. No shade for her and I love the song just found it a little bit in bad taste
@@agustingomez1590 no, no, I mean who as in who was omitted from this video? All I see are the qualifiers and non-qualifiers except Malta, that one he probably forgot about.
Shame about Samba of Denmark and Musti of Denmark but more of a shame that Joost Klein was eliminated. The Dutchman should not have committed this crime.
Israel is family. Your slacktivism does nothing except try to alter history to your favour. Eden deserves to be in the final. Still tho, rip to Joost :(
Agreed. Hurricane is a lovely song even if it was a little try-too-hard and had little allusion to Israeli music beyond the final line. There’s a reason why lots of the silent majority voted for her, and people need to know the full story of everything happening. Only Israelis, who freely vote in competitive elections, and outspoken Gazans, can tell it, and, despite being a progressive with Israeli roots, I can’t. I can’t defend abusive behaviour but Joost has a point and I can see why he has the attitude he has.
But musically it has little to do with Israeli music beyond the final line in Ivrit. You could imagine a Brit or an American singing the exact same song save for that, whereas many previous Israeli entries had some form of national musical identity whether inspired by Yiddish or Mizrahi styles.
Why were the Belgian (RTBF) commentators saying they were shocked that Mustii didn't go through? I know it's a great song, but the performance was really underwhelming
#JusticeForJoost Let's all vote Greece tonight, because Marina also lost her father 3 weeks ago, and said that if she wins, she will dedicate it to Joost! ❤️🇳🇱🤝🇬🇷❤️
