With time Tata Motors is coming out with more and more information/answers on our battery related queries, like recently they stated that if any problem occurs with the battery, the local dealers are not permitted to disassemble the battery. Speaking of new technology, I believe we'll get to see that when the concept models will go into final production stage, until then it's hard to say because there are multiple possibilities.

That is a good observation and I agree with it, we have seen it happen in US especially in California. My main concern is reliability of charging stations. Other than statiq, most charging stations in India have poor reliability including that of Tata. Hopefully we get good players invest into charging.

Absolutely, once you've driven an EV, there's no going back to petrol/diesel engines.

We faced an issue with rattling on the passenger side door, Tata fixed it during our second service. Something to do with the door's alignment. Other than that no rattling so far. The range estimation in electric cars never spot on. It varies by terrain you drive on. It will give you an idea, but you won't get exact range it mentions. Had same experience Tesla, same with Nexon. But on a whole its fairly accurate :)

Hi Sunny, Nexon EV XZ+ Dark is 15,99,000 Ex Showroom. Tata doesn't negotiate on ex-showroom price of EV's as demand is high. Insurance: 40k - 50k. Negotiate with dealership and ask around from companies like Acko, Bajaj Allianz etc for bet quote. Dealership offers 1 year comprehensive and three year third party as per some new law. RTO cost: Road Tax is Zero, RC charges are also zero. If they charge for number plate then you can expect 500 to 700. No other cost, you may get mats, body cover and mud flaps for free. But that depends on dealership. Other than that no other cost. Charger and Charging Box installation at home is free from Tata Power, you get wire upto 15 meters for free, over that they charge some cost per meter but don't remember it exactly, should be below Rs 300 per meter.

Hi Amit, I find the car pretty stable while cornering at speed. The car comes equipped with Cornering Stability Control (CSC) and because of the battery pack the car has lower centre of gravity so it feels well planted. So overall it performs really well on that front and you won't miss ESP. Also you won't get any wheel spin when you drive in D mode, the power is linear so no torque steer is present.

Hey thanks for the revert rahul....I was going through one video at zigwheels where the driver took a turn at 70kmph ,where normal nexon tyre did not skid but nexon ev rear wheel did go a bit off track so was a bit bothered how far will that be safe on high speed also mainly during monsoon

Honestly they missed a critical point to mention because I guess even they are not upto speed with it. The Petrol Nexon comes with Goodyear Excellence tyres which are more sticky tires compared to MRF Wanderer which are low rolling resistance tyres and these are not as grippy. If we put Goodyears on EV then it will impact the range a lot. The tyres on EV are a fine balance between grip and efficiency. We had really bad Monsoon this year in Uttarakhand and I have driven my Nexon EV through different terrains in rain and had no issues. So I feel it shouldn't be a problem.

The Aux battery is the regular 12V one that you find in all the cars.

Hi, yes you are right, regen doesn't use brake pads to slow the car. Hence the brake pads should last longer, but with traffic like ours you still have to use the brakes constantly. You will only feel the difference if you live in area with less traffic or you don't drive during peak rush hour.

Yes, Nexon EV will workout perfectly for you. You can easily manage that much km with Ac. Shouldn't be a problem at all.

Hi Vaibhav, so basically if you go with Dark Edition then it will be easy to maintain the interiors but difficult to maintain the exterior, whereas with the regular one, it will be slight difficult to keep the light interiors clean but easy to maintain the exterior colours. Now that both cars have save features, go for the regular one and save the extra cash.

Hi Ashok, for Nexon EV they have said that the charging cycles is 3300+. You don't need to charge full 100% everyday, you can charge upto 95% or if it works 80%. If you are living in area which is not hilly, then it should be fine to manage it. I am working on a video to answer this question. Hopefully that will answer that question.

Unfortunately no, Dark doesn't qualify for subsidy. You will have to go with regular Nexon EV XZ+.

In my state we don't have any subsidies and from what I read recently even Delhi has stopped the subsidy program. What state are you buying the car in?

Yes you can, just ask Mahavitran to provide you a new connection that will be used for charging EV. You can also do it once you take delivery and have the Tata Power charging box with you as it will be connected to that meter then. I will suggest to wait till your delivery date gets closer, meanwhile you can talk to them and keep documents ready.

I believe BESt is different, currently from what I have read Mahavitran is the one who is providing seperate connection for EV charging. Hi Nilanjan, the correct way is not to let the battery drop too low like 20% or below. This is because the cells in the battery need to have a minimum charge or else they can get damaged. The Battery Management System manages it to an extent but we should not make it a habit to drop the percentage that low. Sweet spot is to charge it from 30% to 80% or 90%, then every two weeks charge the car to full 100% so that battery management system can balance all the cells properly. Hope that helps ☺️

Congrats Nilanjan, happy for you. I am honestly not looking to install cruise control as I don't want to mess with the electronics of the car, even if it is just a plug and use solution. I don't want to give Tata any reason to void my warranty if anything goes wrong as some of the components are expensive. Also I have seen some test videos of the cruise control system, it has this issue just like a cruise control in any car that it keeps pulling power to maintain a constant speed. That increases power consumption and reduces range, especially in hilly areas or roads with some incline. Once you start driving your EV and learn to keep the graph in the meter flat, you won't feel the need of cruise control that much. So for now don't invest any money in that. For charging kit, there is one video from the same guy who is developing the cruise control system, just watch the video and take notes of the components he has mentioned, then go to any local electrical store and show them the picture plus the components you need. They will make it for you at much cheaper price. Don't get a meter as it's not much of use, just switchboard, wire and earthing stuff.
