I don't think they can fix the game. They made a PVE game with very little "E". About all they can do at this point is to try to turn it into a PVP experience because the storylines, location reworks, npc, etc would all take years to put together. Turning it into a fallout themed fortnite can be done quickly and cheaply.

Van Thomas They did indeed meet then, and it was a wholesome experience to watch. Unfortunately Yong recently does indeed seem to really wanna max that ad revenue by reading his script in front of him, which in itself consists 75%+ of articles already written elsewhere. I’m still subbed but I only watch whatever sounds interesting, I like even just months ago when I’d watch every single vid he put out. If yall didn’t know, Yong actually has a personality, if you sort his vids from oldest to newest he actually did some Let’s Plays where his fun personality really showed. And laughter. Can’t say I’ve heard him laugh even once the past few months, whereas the gay bros were watching now turn the laughter notch to 11. But hey he seems to be comfortable with his current schtick in his particular niche category of gaming related vids, and money’s money so it’s hard to put him down. I enjoyed his older original content but being a successful Let’s Play-er is one of the hardest paths to stardom on this platform

If only all games followed the Blade and Soul model. World PVP linked to your outfits based on the different warring factions in the game. If faction A opposes faction B and if you as a player wear the clothes then you're free game. It's crazy with the lore fallout has BGS didn't think of this.

FO76 was just supposed to be a giant cash grab, it was their flagship to launch their platform. Same old outdated engine, recycled assets from FO4, almost no effort in the story. Then add skins and loot boxes. Since they didn't get strong pushback, and casuals actually liked FO4, they thought the whole Fallout fanbase are drooling idiots that wouldn't take notice.

The only way pvp works in survival games is to fix your character to one server. I played ark pvp for 2000+ hours & any time people had the ability to server jump like in fallout 76 the servers would quickly turn into huge troll fests as there was no accountability for your actions. When you are fixed to one server a community will quickly form (if the server is active enough) & trolls usually get delt with leaving space for alliance's/rivalries to form, at least that was my experience.

I mean, in all fairness you're wrong at the beginning when you say no one wanted this. A decent amount of people wanted proper PvP. Some big streamers like Forsen were the first to say, "I'd probably play it more if the PvP was better." Game's still shit and people are right to complain how the new Survival mode works, but yeah I've seen a chunk of the player base wanting better PvP.

I've played Fallout 76 for hundreds of hours but I've gotten really bored with it, as there is no meaningful end game content. The game desperately needs pve content. Like raids or dungeons with different difficulties that drops unique gear.

I cant agree more. The game opens interesting and then you hit level 15 and only scorch beasts are threatening and then by 30 they're just boring and the game just drags on. The story just sucks, so you cant even play for that. It's not well written and isn't compelling. I wanted this game to be good so badly, but man did Bethesda fuck EVERYTHING up with it.

I really don't understand how players are STILL defending this game and everything that surrounds it. This game is a failure and will continue to be if they keep making these stupid decisions. PoS game, hahahah!!

To be fair, the PvP stuff was probably planned to go out for months, but companies normally put their dev on embargo during the christmas period.

Bethesda really is just a joke now, it sucks seeing a dev/publisher responsible for so many games I love, fall so far so fast. BGS has always had buggy games (although personally I've had relatively bug free experiences in most of their games.. until 76 was shat out) but FO76 is some next level incompetence. Fallout Seventy-Shit NEEDS to die and Bethesda NEEDS to step their game up, either use a different engine or make a new one, because the shitty one they insist on using is more out of it's depth than CM Punk was in the UFC. If they can't/won't, then they need to just stop making games and stick to publishing the work of devs that can actually be bothered to give half a shit when it comes to making games. BGS is sooo fucking far behind nearly every other dev in terms overall quality, gameplay, graphics/textures, user interface and just general polish that it's scary. Bethesda as a developer is basically the Flintstone's foot powered car racing against a bunch of Bugatti Chiron's, it's laughable and downright pathetic. Be better Bethesda, or just get the hell out of the way.

The issue with having a closed economy is it will take a day or two for people to reach max level with their friends and start farming the end game, and then you are right back to the same issue of having people with all the gear. The only difference now is the majority have no option but to be farmed as they try to level as that character can't do anything else. When you include a core pvp mode everyone needs to be on the same footing, even in a RPG game, and making the servers a free for all in terms of levels destroys that, they either need to implement an advanced damage scaling system so a low lv take less and deal more damage and stand a chance, or make the servers be level restrictive, only say 10 levels +/- the host. Seeing the 'expertise' Bethesda has shown so far with 76, asking for a complex scaling system may as well be asking them for faster than light travel

Easy Fix for pvp game mode: lock it so you can’t swap characters. Then make it where you are max level for everyone, people just get to edit their classes how they want. This will create a fair playing field for everyone and most resembling a pvp style game.

As someone who played over 100 hours. Its fun. It seriously can be. But no doubt there are a lot of problems with it. And to devote Dev Time for a new mode while you have broken or undercooked mechanics in the game and on top still a giant pile of bugs (a lot got fixed but there is still more), it a retarded decision. Edit: Also it does has a chance.

As someone who quit after 80: 1)The game lacks endgame content. Once you've killed a scorch beast and reaped the lackluster rewards you've done it all. Those fights play out the exact same every single time. Additionally, excluding scorched beasts nothing compared in health or damage and so other enemies aren't threats, really scorch beasts arent threats to anything but ammo because they just have WAY to high an HP which only serves to drag out the length of fights rather than to make them interesting. 2)PvP quite literally cannot be balanced due to the legendary weapons allowing things like high powered, double shot, explosive shotguns. 3)Base placement is critically flawed due to fixed resource locations and bases not spawning if someone else is using yours. 4)Critical game design issues lead cities to be game breaking buggy, as servers cannot handle the stress 5)Community interaction is useless and doesnt have any features or structuring to be easy, so meeting new people isnt fun, easy, or rewarding. Often it's just stressful as they take all the materials around you 6)Without a compelling story the game lacks a singleplayer. Even if you LIKE all of the reading the story is lore breaking, lacks depth, and seems to have been written by a collection of 5th graders- quickly becoming grating rather than satisfying. Fallout 76 was built on a very, very bad foundation with issues a production team should have seen before going anywhere with it. Namely the terrible story and NPC issues. To compound the issue though it obviously was not release ready so the only saving grace was instantly thrown away.... I love Fallout but I've accepted the game will never be good because of decisions the design team made.

One change to your suggestion: you should let people switch from Survival to Adventure even if you don't allow the reverse. If somebody tries always-on PvP and hates it, there's no harm in letting them keep their character when they switch to the more peaceful mode.
