@@evgenigenov3433 even then it would probably have been more tactical to release the game with a lower price so more people would buy the boxes, right? you know, just make up some bogus introductionary pre-order/early buyer price reduction to get a healthy player base to kick off with and mask the fact it's a bit of a turd but this thing was so incredibly shit, they knew it, and clearly didn't even want to risk the long con, so they took the quick grab. they called that one right though, the retail price went down the shitter in a week's time, but hey that's a self-fulfilling prophecy for ya rofl.

If they would have opened the beta/demo up to more people, it would have generated more sales of the game (since people had to buy it to play the demo). I thought he was saying if more people played the game before launch, all of the bugs that can only come out when you let it "bake" with an audience would have come out before the official launch ("certain things you can never see until you have it running 24/7 for a number of months"). Like the dozens of dupe glitches, some of which are still very well kept secrets within the community for fear of it being patched. Unless you're talking about something else.

Couple of ideas for the background if you don't mind an extra bit of work 1. Green screen over the Street Fighter Cabinet screen, and change up what's showing. Doesn't have to be permanent, but maybe something different every couple of shows. 2. Hang the cactuar again, and move him around every few shows. The community could make a game of 'Spot the Cactuar'. 3. Green screen one of the metal posters. Again, nothing permanent, but perhaps you could even show some community art on it every once in a while. (I have no idea if the community submits art to you, but with this maybe they'd like to.) Just some off the wall ideas to make it a little more lively if you don't mind the extra work.

It seems like a scenario of Todd/Bethesda seeing how No Man’s Sky turned it around (granted it took 2-3 years) and thought it would be wise to essentially kickstart/crowdfund future develop with sales. The problem with this is that Bethesda isn’t Hello Games (“Indie” Studio) and it seems hard for such a large studio to support a live game while creating new ones simultaneously.
