The big "they thought of everything" comes when you eventually skip a cutscene and it waits until the next measure of the track to throw you into gameplay so that you keep the rhythm. (I only discovered this this morning, after screwing up the final boss fight a number of times)
It's barely noticeable but the game will actually wait for the cutscene to start on beat. It's extremely subtle and truly astonishing how they did that
Utility bots should just stay away from combat, they have neither the hardware nor the programing that prepared them for violence. Also it's not cool to harm an utility bot that cannot defend itself

I’m possibly wrong but, I think in cutscenes Chai attacks or moves in quarter notes, Peppermint attacks in eighth or sixteenth notes, while Macaron attacks and moves in whole notes and down beats
Finished it and its absolutely fantastic.. Great humor, gameplay and soundtrack. A new fresh original game that does something actually new made by a triple A studio??? Gues miracles do still exist. Here's hoping they continue with this kind of innovation.
@@MrRulet550 Made by Tango, one of Zenimax's subsidiaries (AKA the parent of Bethesda the publisher as well as Bethesda the game developer). They are the same guys that made the Evil Within games as well as Ghostwire, so it's probably fairly accurate to say they are a AAA studio than not
@@MrRulet550 1. it was published by bethesda but still made by a studio that is owned by the parent company of bethesda that has made other major AAA games, so even by your (wrong) definition it would be AAA. 2. if a game has the funding of a AAA studio by having one as its publisher it has all the pitfalls of being developed by one. The publishers set the deadlines and push the direction of the game because they are the source of money. It's not that AAA studios have bad developers, its that they are being pushed by money hungry producers and managers, and things like time and quality are less important than marketing and branding and flashy animations/art in terms of sales (and therefore money, which is the end goal for these people). The game devs are fine, theyre probably even considered very good in the industry if theyre hired by a AAA studio. bottom line youre an idiot, dont try to talk back to people like you arent one. You're the type of person who hears "AAA devs bad" and then dont think beyond that at all.
Honestly, I just love how the game’s overall ascetic, plot, and characters made me feel like I was a kid watching a Saturday morning cartoon again. Brought back nostalgic warm fuzzies 🥰
This cutscenes alone, can make new people want play the game, it shows how the game is comedic, fun, and how amazing the music is, not to mention the "on the beat" gameplay feels
I think the combat's a ton of fun, but after going through fight after fight. It was an absolute relief to get just a cutscene of watching Chai and the crew kick ass!
The game: Everything in the game and the world is to the beat Me: Oh neat. Me *after 5 minutes* : oh shit they weren't exaggerating. You know if nothing else this is like the ultimate portfolio for all of the devs working on this. If for whatever reason they want to leave or get fired I could see other studios (not just in gaming but animation in general) be eager to snatch them up. Microsoft better treat tango game works right. And on a different other note I would not complain if Microsoft wanted to commission an animated (maybe go full anime) adaption just to see a full show synced to the beat of its soundtrack like this. That would be wild.
Of course they are. Would be weird, if they weren't. That's why I almost suffered brain damage when one of them bugged for me and was completely out of sync (the one after Chai gets caught, the finger snapping one). Brrr, that was horrible experience.
The best example of this is actually the cutscene where Chai is rescued by 808 from the cell. If you follow the beat 808 makes when crawling through the ducts, she breaks through the grate EXACTLY on beat!
Hi fi rush is basically the sunset overdrive of the new gen consoles. Its just shows that finyou put effort into making your games taht they most likely turn out to be great and unique creations.
Funfact, even the little robot with the Vacuum cleaner goes with the beat anddd well he is actually plays before the music does so they had to keep that in mind too

Why wouldn't they be? It's the core concept of the game. Ideally the devs want your actual gameplay to be synced too, so naturally the cutscenes are used as encouragement.
they care about money, they couldve done only gameplay synced and not cared about the little stuff or making you wait a sec when you skip cutscenes to resync the beat
@@rushalias8511 this exactly, plus he can call all of them in whenever he wants so they still basically are on the field with him And in jam combos, and parry counters and even some special attacks too
If you're ever making a game here's a note: When that first guy said "GET HIM!", is the exact moment control should be returned to the player. You're playing a game, not watching a movie.
Yup thats an intentional detail! One of the animators that worked for the game told me that they were asked to do that. They animated 808 on Chai's shoulder in the scene where he's hanging!
