you all prolly dont care at all but does someone know a way to get back into an Instagram account? I stupidly lost the login password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me!
Not often that season fella. The two derbies, Southampton and City in the cup and that was about it. Could be wrong but our attendances plummeted once we were knocked out. The Everton fanbase in the 80s and early 90s was very fickle. Big games they would turn out; otherwise they would struggle for 25,000.
Remember watching this game. The Everton players played the game of their lives to win this one. Liverpool at this time were so dominant in English football.
@@itsinthetreesitscoming7431 I was there in he open corner of the Kippax...clear handball. On a related issue - these demented twats are giving Redmen stick for mentioning the maiming of VVD by the brainless twat in goal. I've read "let it go - it happened months ago" - then read yet another comment mentioning a 1977 goal!!!! They are as thick as pig-shit.
@@stel3209 you forget this is youtube so any bullshit can be checked! it clearly came off his hip - stevie wonder could see that and you look demented claiming otherwise. you must have heard this one: q - first premier league winners? a - man utd q - first premier league goalscorer? a - brian deane q - first premier league player player to ever get injured? a - virgil van dijk
The most amazing sight on earth.Goodison Park full of the greatest fans in the world, supporting the greatest football club in the world.Everton stand for winning 'the right way'.Liverpool stoop to winning by any means. It's not bitterness you fuck-wits.It's dignity and pride.EVERTON FC.
I was at this game as well, really thought we would win the cup after beating Liverpool and the atmosphere was fantastic, I think we also beat Arsenal that year only to lose out to City, Clive Thomas was a very poor, over fussy referee who was hated for disallowing Brian Hamilton's goal against Liverpool in the 1977 semi at Maine Road. I remember having to explain to someone who was still celebrating his goal a long time afterwards that it had somehow been disallowed, I was going out with Martin Hodges cousin at the time and met him a couple of times, he was a nice guy but a little quiet completely the opposite to George Wood, but he played a blinder that day as did Imre Veradi who really lifted our spirits around that time.
Agreed: Clive Thomas just loved to be the centre of attention and always did controversial things so he could grab some limelight. He blew the final whistle immediately after a player took a corner in the 1978 world cup in Argentina and the team scored from the corner! I was at Wembley in March 1981 watching my team West Ham play Liverpool in the League Cup final. He allowed an obvious offside Liverpool goal in the last few minutes and overruled his linesman. He then booked Trevor Brooking for the only time in his career for having the temerity to disagree with him. He should never have been a referee.
@@redflag8970 Yes I've just googled it - it was Brazil vs Sweden and Zico scored what should have been the winner. This is the article I picked it up from (if you look at the picture within the article, I might have been a tad defensive of my boyhood hero Trevor Brooking - I don't think I've ever seen him so angry)!! www.theguardian.com/football/2018/apr/24/world-cup-stunning-moments-clive-thomas-denies-zico-and-brazil
I was at this game and recall the Blues had beaten Arsenal in the previous round, which for them was their first defeat in a FA Cup tie since 1978. The Reds were at their peak around this time. yet the Blues after defeating a very good Southampton side in the 5th round, lost in the 6th round to the weakest team they met, Man City. Leading 2-1 late in the second half at Goodison, Imre Varadi picked up a weak back pass by City defender Nicky Reid and raced toward the Gwlady's Street goal, rounded Joe Corrigan in goal and somehow put his shot in the side netting. I was in the Upper Bullen's that afternoon and remember seeing fans at the Park End momentarily jump for joy. minutes later Paul Power made it 2-2 and instead of leading 3-1 the team looked deflated walking off at full time. The Blues lost the replay and 9 of the 11 remaining league games, falling from the top eight to 16th in the league table at the end. Gordon Lee, Bob Latchford and Mike Lyons all left the club shortly after. What If ? Imre Varadi hadn't missed an open goal with the team leading 2-1. Gordon Lee may well have lasted a few years more. And what followed with Howard Kendall's great sides
Any half decent manager would show this vid to the current squad. I was in the gwladys st end and remember it well. They weren't the best blues side I've seen but what passion and commitment, every player giving 100%!!
I was at this match. This game and the Bayern Munich game we're the best games I've ever been to. For the atmosphere defo. At this game, when it was shown on MOTD, I WAS ON TV twice. I was at the front in the G. ST END, Everyone at school were saying that they'd seem me on TV. I was only 14. I'm on the fencing on the left of goal facing the pitch. Nobody forgot about Imre Varadi after this game as I'm sure he got starting every game afterwards. I remember ONE THING, All us blues were worried about the ref. Wanker Clive Thomas, after he disallowed a perfectly good goal against West Ham. In a previous cup semi. Any great to see, many a thanks to the uploader. Cheers mate.
My first ever derby only 12 + 1st ever time l’d been to see my heroes..!! But then the next ever game went to was the EFC nemesis scoring 4 against us in that 5-0 slaughtering..!! I cried for weeks and the redshite wonder why we fuckin despise them horrible foreign fans in Anfield, proud to be a bitter blue
The good old days , numbers 1 to 11, men were men, look at the pitch , listen to those fans , mostly stood up. Proper football and no stupid var, and a pitch invasion
@@hankmorgan3501 As a Manchester United fan fair play to Lyons, Case was a good player but also a dirty little shit, Case made sure he got a piece of Hodges so Lyons did the same! As for Souness he was great player but a shitty human being!!!
