Did you know Sonic Adventure 2 had DLC outfits long before the days of DLC was even a thing? In this video I show off all the secret and DLC outfits from both the Dreamcast and Gamecube versions of the game!
Can confirm that most people.don't. I once tried a good 15 years ago, but my teenage self was a bit too stupid to figure out how to beat Rouge's hard mode for Egg Quarters. I didn't have internet at the time either so I couldn't look it up. Love Rouge's alternative costumes though
Y'know, I think Shadow's Dreamcast alternate costume is probably the only one I haven't seen, and even then, I've only really seen the other ones very rarely, except maybe Sonic's. The red biker suit on Shadow looks phenomenal!! Some may be more fitting than others perhaps, but all of the costumes in general look great honestly!! This game was always pretty ahead of its time, all things considered.
Yeah I think his dreamcast one is awesome. They were modeled after Phantasy Star online, I think for the gamecube port they wanted to seperate them from that branding so they gave them more "race suit" style costumes.
Eggman’s smart enough to not have participated in that bullshit. Though he might have capitalized on it, fanning the flames of deception and then using the resultant chaos as an opportunity to take over while everyone’s fighting amongst themselves. After all, he’s deceived Knuckles multiple times, and there were plenty of people there that day more gullible than that red echidna.
There's also a special skin in the 2P mode too~! In Battle (GC-present), we have the character Dark Chao Walker in the Mech character roster. But on original Dreamcast, he doesn't exist. Instead we get Big the Cat in Eggman's default mech (which is very funny) Also another little fun fact; Eggman's Alternate costume has a unique feature to it as well like Red Tails does! It completely removes Eggman's Lock-On Laser, making it so he can only fire his Vulcan Cannon in that skin. It's interesting that the Mech characters have a significant change to them while the other 4 main characters' costumes only affect their 2P attacks. Great Video, Duskk 👍My personal Favorites for each are Sonic's Battle Alt, Shadow's DC Alt, Red Tails, Eggman's Black Camo, Knuckles' DC Alt, And for Rouge it's a tie between her DC & Battle costumes. Also if you're interested in the idea, it'd be cool to see a video showing all the unique pick-up-able items in each SA2 Stage. There's quite a lot of them, and they're one of the few things that go pretty unnoticed when people play. There's even a 1 or 2 hidden references in them as well. :)
Best ones imo are: Dreamcast hidden Rouge. The fact her fur changes to the outfit is great and I do be a sucker for leotards Dreamcast hidden Knuckles. I like the markings on his quills and his exposed chest shows how MANLY and STRONG he is Red Tails. ZOOM ZOOM BABEY. But the Halloween is close, I like the orange mech and it does match Tails himself. Halloween Eggman. Pumpkin unmatched Halloween Sonic. Did I stutter? Pumpkin unmatched Halloween Shadow. Bones good so yeah, Halloween has a lot of winners
fun fact rouge’s halloween outfit is actually reused(but recolored) in sonic runners sonic’s christmas outfit is also reused in sonic runners, though he also gets a santa hat sadly i think those are the only two outfits that have been in other games(though i wouldn’t be surprised if some of the others made their way into sonic forces speed battle since that seems to have an alt costume for every character in existence)
Yeah I saw that when fact checking this video. Rouge has alot of outfits from other games, I can do a whole ass video on it. I tend to stick to the adventure games on my channel.
@@EpicDuskk its interesting to see how many references the entire series gets from one game to another, but i think the adventure games alone have enough material to make videos for years lmao, they’re jam packed with references and little details(which makes sense given sa1 was the big jump to 3d and sa2 was intended to be the last game in the series if it failed)

Red Tails being fast is a reference to Char "the Red Comet" Aznable from Gundam, who piloted a Red Zaku that is 300% faster than the usual Zaku, leading to a popular in-joke for mecha fans that red = faster.
Phantasy Star Online is one of my favorite games (probably not my favorite anymore, but it was for a while), so I recognized Sonic's first alt immediately, a reference to the character Ash Canaan. I think Rouge's "dommy mommy" outfit might also be a reference to this game, being similar to the outfit of the character Sue.
I know it's already been done before by other Sonic content creators, but would you ever consider doing a video on the unused content of sa1 and sa2? Or give your opinions on stuff like beta builds of the adventure games? (Like the sa1 autodemo for example)
I'm not concerned if stuff has been done by other creators. Repeat ideas are bound to happen, so long as I can put my own spin on it. I'll probably do a video like that down the line!
I just subbed to you because Sonic Adventure 1&2 were my childhood, I love seeing content made on it even today, nearly 20 years later. You’re awesome! I was curious about something though. Is there a specific mod for using these costumes in action stages? I’d love to play as Red Tails in game (totally not covering for the fact I wanna use Rouge’s outfits) if you’re able to, please let me know I’d greatly appreciate it. Im glad you're enjoying the videos! I use "Character Select Plus" which lets you play as any character in any stage, and it lets you toggle their Multiplayer Outfits by pressing Y when selecting them. For the dreamcast outfits theres a mod called "Dreamcast Characters" that lets you pick whichever outfit you want.
Other than Tails, and i think you mentioned Eggman doing more damage in another video, are there any other gameplay changes? Also very well chosen shots of Rouge
So for most characters, they get attacks after collecting 20, 40, and 60 rings. And the order of attacks they get is Speed Up, Sonic Wind (called different things for each character), and Time Stop. The alt outfits change the order you get the attacks, and I think also doubles the length of the Time Stop.
I never knew that any of those outfits existed in this game before, especially in the console versions! When looking at the thumbnail of this video I thought that they were all just from mods that could only be downloaded into the PC port of SA2!

Has anyone had similar freezing issues on the steam version of sa2b? I’ll randomly have instances of the game visually freezing with the audio continuing. The only thing to break out of it besides force quitting is pressing the windows key and clicking back in. Gameplay will resume as normal but there’s a brief period of inability to do anything at first. Haven’t found much and I cant replicate consistently. Sometimes it’ll happen twice in 5 minutes, sometimes I’m clear for a full 15
I think it’s safe to say that knuckles multiplayer outfit invokes the same feeling of dom rouge in a way that I can appreciate……… thank you sonic team for blessing us with bisexual icons like dom rouge and goth knuckles 🤩
I don't think the GameCube outfit for Sonic was made to desassociate with PSO since the game also released on the GameCube and you even have a mission where you can get a Tails Chao and transfer through your GBA into SA2 Also... those names and poses for Rouge, y'all are some silly naughty people
Also, there's a billboard advertising the game in the very first boss fight, and Mad Space has breakable steel boxes containing the green item containers from PSO.
@@EpicDuskk You totally should! The Blue Burst version is naturally free to play, and there are a few fan servers still around. The one I use is Ephinea.
Im not sure to be honest. I play the steam version which is what I reccomend since there are so many mods. You'd probably have to look for a code for it, but idk if someone made one for it.

If you're on PC you can mod them in. For the console versions you can only do the multiplayer outfits. You unlock them by getting all the A ranks for that character
