I live in a farmhouse, its not "open," everything is enclosed, with thick walls and small rooms. nothing is white, the "farmhouse sink" is a 40 y/o stainless steel abomination, paired with laminated counter tops and cyan cupboard doors, courtesy of the 70s. The floor is hardwood with the varnish worn off from years of use. Basically, a farmhouse is something where people sleep and eat, as most of the time is spent doing more important things than keeping your house updated

I told my mom to stop watching those shows, we “Opened Up The Space” between the kitchen and dining area about two years ago, I just installed “Barn Doors” to close off the kitchen area🤣 (pain in the ass to align both doors) because she wanted barn doors, I predict she’s gonna want recessed lighting soon.

These shows appeal to a certain type of person. That person is so not me.

It’s almost like if you have an unlimited budget you can make any space look amazing.

I just renovated my home last year and this video is like a fever dream mid-renovation. I ended up with the farmhouse sink, quartz countertops and subway tile. I thought the pendant lights were overdone and I added shades of gray and blue to break up the white madness.

this is more understandable than the News and Commercials. At least this is all the same channel, same producers, same editors, They follow a format. We all know now that these reality shows have more writers than scripted shows. We all know the finished product that comes out of that TV set is very uniformed and controlled At least this is harmelss to the masses Except I guess if everyone wants to go out and all of a sudden shiplap their walls.

Those houses are hideous after remodeling. Is it too much to ask for better colors on the walls than white and grey? Go with blue, green, reds, and other colors.

Was really hoping for some commentary on this phenomenon to make every house look EXACTLY the SAME. Instead this was just 7 minute clip show from some the worst television programs ever produced. Cringe, ugly, and terrible is what these home shows are.
