My dad used to tattoo finger nails in his shop in the 80s. 10 bucks per nail (cause he hated it and it usually made clients change their mind on how many they wanted done) and he'd make them soak their fingernails in vinegar for 10 minutes beforehand. (The vinegar soak softens the nails and prevents nail fungus. Also if the nails don't soak, especially brittle af ones, you run the risk of just sawing through the nails and the needles dull fast.) He hated doing it but it was easy money.

@@Fallen6987think of it more as the nail itself getting a tattoo, once it grows out, you'll be able to clip your nails as usual. Kinda like fake nails but not fake nails at all.

Why would somebody still try and push for color if the artist JUST told u it won't stay, what's the point, If u want a tattoo like that in color, go to a tattoo shop and get it somewhere else on ur body after the show, and get a different tattoo on ur palm.🤔

I imagine the canvas thinks it's just more difficult than the artist wants to do and the artist is trying to talk them down to something easier. It also doesn't help that some of the artists take a passive tone that sounds more like asking than confidently telling the canvas it won't work.

I hate how they go from "you must listen to your canvas and do everything they want because they have to live with it." To "You must talk them out of something because it may not last and we'll nock you for doing what the canvas wants."

The yeti wasn’t the best looking but I think it’ll fade nicely compared to most of the other hand tattoos. The girls also killed it.

They explained that all colors in the palm pretty much disappears immediately after and is a waste of ink, so pretty much like a temporary tattoo that's supposed to be permanent

I'm glad they stopped grading tattoos while the people that just got them were standing in the room. Getting something on you for the rest of your life and then having professionals tell you how bad it is before you can even be stoked on it would suck.

This show makes me learn so much, especially the palm tattoos. Personally I would never get a palm tattoo, but I wish all of these people would only choose to use black for the palms and no color or change their idea to something else that would work. Wont lie, there were a few that turned out decent, like the colored fish tattoo Gian did and I thought the yeti was decent but once again, it will fade quickly. Also I remember watching the fingernail episode and it shocked me you could tattoo fingernails. I had the same reaction Tyler did when Dave said to tattoo the fingernails.

Man, I honestly don't know if I like or dislike Tyler, sometimes he seems like a total douche, but sometimes he has moments that are so genuine?? Also ughhh I would absolutely love for Matt to tattoo me, he seems amazing, same goes for Kate. I also love both the designs they have shown in different challenges. But for the nails, that pattern Duffy did was very very pretty.

So you can tattoo completely different patterns on the fingernails and it's seen as consistent, but landscapes of a night scene from day to night is not consistent? Come on man, this is totally ridiculous judging IMO.

I have both hands tattooed and it wasn’t horrible, but on my inner wrists where a few lines swing a little close to my palm were so painful. I love the look of the palm tattoo but I just can’t 😂
