EVERY Mario Kart Character RANKED From Worst to Best 

Hey guys! It’s come to my attention that Mario Kart Tour has just announced Chargin’ Chuck will be added. As for where he would have gone on this list, he would probably be around where I have Kamek Ranked.

Mad respect for not blindly hating on Honey Queen and Wiggler. These two got a lot of hate for being in 7, but at least they look unique and have been established in the series. Metal Mario is the worst addition to 7 imo, but he barely gets hate compared to these two.

The fact that you put Wiggler so high up on the list makes me really happy! Wiggler gets way too much hate and I guarantee most of that is because of the lack of Waluigi. Wiggler is one of those random additions you’d never expect, but that’s what I like about him!

I feel Pink Gold Peach should have been lower than Metal Mario. Metal probably only replaced Waluigi in 7 because of time and the fact it was easier to add a new texture and voice filter to Mario then make a new character. And PGP was added to have another female heavy weight, but if they really wanted another one they could have just brought back Honey Queen instead of just making Metal Peach.

The racing Lakatu has a red shell, while the one that starts the race has a green one. That’s the difference

I fully agree with Honey Queen being that high, I love even Nintendo puts obscure unique characters in Mario kart rosters

I feel the "babies" should be a debuff item other players can use that makes you slower and lot lighter so very easy to knock out. Characters like metal Mario/ gold Peach should be a buff item and tanooki + cat should just be costumes you can unlock for already existing characters

Fun fact about the koopalings, they actually aren’t bowers kids. The only one that really his kids is bowser jr and the rest of them are like bowser’s minions/helpers. When they were first introduced they were supposed to be his kids but now they are treated and considered his minions.

The fact that Nintendo put Pink Gold Peach in MK8 over Birdo is a crime punishable by death.

10:57 I have a theory why DK Jr. was cast aside. As far as i know the Kong canon, Cranky is the original Donkey Kong. The DK we know and love today is the grandson of Cranky. And DK Jr., being the son of that original DK, so Cranky, is, in conclusion, the father (or maybe uncle) of the present Donkey Kong. The problem is that it would be pretty confusing, having a charakter named DK Jr., which is the father of DK. I think that is why Nintendo just let him sink in the abyss.

HARD disagree on Paratroopa being a forgettable costume. He's leagues more interesting than Koopa in Kart and Tennis, and I wish he'd become the default turtle bro.

Thank you for not shitting on the Koopalings. At least they aren't clones and they have unique animations and personalities. Larry is my personal favorite because he's so cute!

If they were only going to have X amount of characters in the base roster for 8, I wish they'd have grouped the Koopalings into 1-3 slots, 1 if they could have different weights in one slot or 3 if theyd have to be divided between light, medium and heavy. They are all individual characters, but within the games they've never really been developed much, so we could have had a few more of the established racers with more fans. Bowser Jr not making it in originally just seems even more egregious as a result.

Things to add: Pink Gold Peach was in sports games after MK8, don't understand her purpose. Gold Mario was in Mario Bros 2 with the whole gold item when collecting coins in a game. Paratroopa is one of those characters that did need to be added, since Koopa Troopa needed a special item, Paratroopa got added to also be a little "duo" buddy for him. The Namco characters are in the arcades since they helped produce it. The other non-mario characters are there most likely to promote other Nintendo games.

I personally (note the personally there) feel like funky kong was just a waste of a space so I never bothered unlocking him. He has always felt like filler to me and I never understood why people liked him so much.

I personally love to play as any of the girls Mainly Peach and Daisy, tho Pauline and Birdo have become some of my recent faves. Also love characters like Yoshi and dry bones. I feel like the Koopalings are overhated, but I like them, and even tho they aren't bowsers Kids anymore, I feel like that makes them more unique in their own way and lets Bowser Jr. to be the sole prince lol

Pink gold peach isn’t too bad but at first I definitely agree with your bottom placements. However pink gold peach reminds me of 1080 snowboarding 🏂 with the gold and crystal boarders. Also the lore where devs couldn’t decide on pink for girls or gold for guys was cool too

to explain lakitu number 41 there are first of all multiple lakitu's and second of all the one thats races is a diffrent type having a red shell

I believe the reason why they added Paratroopa in Double Dash is that Koopa Troopa needed a partner. And we haven't seen him since, which sucks, too. because for Mario Kart 8, That could be an alternate style choice for Koopa Troopa.

Isabelle is my main partly because I enjoy how she controls and partly because of meme worthy replays like Isabelle looking back with a smile as she sends half the racers to oblivion with a sentient bomb she just threw behind her.

Regarding Baby Rosalina: while I agree that they barely put any thought into her character, nothing about her contradicts the storybook. Baby Peach and Baby Daisy similarly have outfits that resemble their modern dresses, rather than their classic ones. Also, I like to headcanon that Rosalina used to wear blue, but stopped after her mother died, because it reminded her of her too much. But at the end of the story book she switches back into blue, as she has finally accepted that her mother has passed on. Regardless of whether this has any chance of being true, it's likely she just stopped wearing blue for a period of her life as a child. Maybe she was just in her pajamas in the storybook and wasn't able to get her typical blue apparel until she returned to Earth at the end of the storybook. Her hair color difference isn't as drastic as some people think, and irl hair color can change from infancy to childhood to adulthood as well.

Since they added Birdo to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, a pipe dream I have is there's going to be a wave that has 2 courses Donkey Kong themed and bring back Diddy Kong and Funky Kong along with it. Heck, would be even better if Donkey Kong Jr tagged along as well! Oh, by the way, Donkey Kong Jr is the son of Cranky Kong and is the Father of the Modern Donkey Kong.
