@@FiendishlyDelightedSefto 304 ran 3 different lifters over the years, same as 350 chev, then some had Cleveland lifters (vn ss group a) then the last couple of years they ran a hydraulic roller.

The auzzys sold them as "special edition VE commodore" the front end being the only difference, man it looks way better than the standard VE front. I own one. Holden ve "special edition "

they're not special editions. Unfortunately for the US, we kept the cream like the Walkinshaws spec and the R8.

@@Baltzy24 oh mate its ridiculous some of the lies floating around about these cars. i live in Adelaide where the car where built so i try to correct people online but they just don't seem to want to hear it. those VF commodores came with a 3.6l v6 as an option too. those engines are in no way related to the older Ecotec v6 or Buick v6

@@Baltzy24 the alloytec v6 in the later commodores is a DOHC v6 while the older V6's are OHV pushrod engines

The original Opels were pretty good. I have a VC and it's a great car. But it's a bit of a shit we can't get locally made and designed vehicles anymore.

I didn't buy a VY SS Ute once because had chevy badges front and back and on the hardlid. i bought one without haha.

I agree its beautiful, but the Munro will always be the most beautiful for me. I even saw renderings of a VE Munro too, even more beautiful. What a shame GM didn't know what they had with Holden.

HSV also sold a few clubsport “GXP” as a entry level car to fill the SSV and clubsport badge, pretty sure they were left over Pontiac G8 GXPs left over after Pontiac went belly up

He is wrong. The caprice had a longer wheelbase, for the same reason he stated. The caprice was used as a PPV for a lot of state police, local police, transit authorities, and other police/security forces. They made them from 2011-2017 and from 2014+ the interior was based on the SS, prior to that it was the g8 interior, for the most part. The SS was based on the same wheelbase as the G8, both Holden commodore, separated by generation

Haha this is in a country where the vehicle was never offered, ever. They never ran any advertisements, and a lot of chevrolet dealers and salesman had no clue what they were. Most dealers never got any, and they certainly weren't briefed on them in any way. It's like asking an Australian to tell me all about the 90s impala SS b-body

They are retards.. We used to put Chevy badges on our 60 and 70's Holdens so showed we had a chevy motor in it and not a Holden V8.. But idiots who do it now are just losers as all after VT have chevy V8's.

I’ve only ever seen it on VYs, VZs and VEs and only once on a VF up on the Sunshine Coast, might be a couple monaros running around with chev badges too

The SS over in the states looks exactly like the SS/ SSVs just with chev badges and had the LS3 for series 1 and 2, we only got the LS3 for the series 2

If it left the Holden factory, destined for the US, it had the Chevy grille and rear emblem. Its left hand drive, sold under the Chevy name, and titled as a Chevrolet. Yes, the owner (me) prefers the Holden badges, as it get a lot of attention on the road. I'm the first guy to argue that the Chevy SS is actually a Holden, but if you're in America like me, it's known first as a Chevy SS. That's why the title says that. How many holdens are left hand drive? It's simply a Chevy SS made by Holden, sporting the Holden badges that it would have came with had it been right hand drive

@@Baltzy24A GM Holden, built by GMH then Converted by "Holden By Design" in Elizabeth for export. I worked there during the time. Whether it's left hand or right hand steering makes no difference to what the car is. A few right-handed were badged as "Chevrolet Lumina" to and were sent to the UK, and quite a few more badged Lumina to South Africa. The only thing Pontiac about the Holden's sent to the USA was the grill and some badges. Still a Holden just like the many different models sold in Australia from the same make aka...Holden VZ Caprice, VZ Berlina, VZ SS, VZ GTO, VZ Clubsport, VZ Executive, VZ GTS, VZ Calais, VZ Monaro and they all had different badging and grills but guess what? Still a Holden lol😆 Oh and the Pontiac models still state on the compliance plates that it's a GMH VZ also or whatever year/make it may be. Imagine buying a Squire, rubbing out the headstock logo and replacing it with a Fender decal🤔 Not gonna change the sound or feel nor make the crap sound any better haha.

@@Baltzy24 I would have put it has Holden rebadged as a Chevy rebadged as a Holden and in keeping with the spirit of those commentating to be potentially rebadged as a BMW.

Don’t think they used the R8s, just SSVs that got the LS3 from the jump instead of waiting for series 2 like we did
