as a 30 yr flooring installer i highly recommend a small bead of clear caulk around tub and all of bath trim .... and in any other high moisture areas ... ive seen mildew grow under floors for years , without anyone knowing until they start getting odd sickness ...
@chrisfromthelc
@chrisfromthelc 2 года назад
This is definitely the right way to do this. I missed caulking a 3" section next to the shower and water got into it and swelled the trim in that spot in a matter of weeks. No other spot was affected. Since I caught it quickly, there wasn't any real damage and I was able to just replace that small section and fix it right. It's been fine for months now.

I hate it when the end music comes on. Especially now that the house is almost finished. When McKenzie said they ordered the wrong faucets I almost punched the air thinking 'that's got to be good for another episode. The house looks beautiful and the systems that they put in place work. You may want to check the airflow requirements for the refrigerator so you don’t burn up the compressor….. great progress on the build

I am so excited for the day the outdoor shower is no longer needed. No 20 below showers this year!!! It's so awesome to see the finishes going in! I know the punch list seems endless but it really is getting close!

Love your optimism. When you're living in a cave a grass hut looks pretty good. The progress each day is great. You're almost there....home.

What a beautiful home you are both building. Not just the physical house but the family that transforms a house into a home.

When you change the big string pre-filter to your water system, cut the filter in half. You will be able to see how deep the penitration of the polin is. Sometimes it only 1/16" in, or even less. After you change and cut open a few of these filters at different times, you will see how long you can go between changes. Or just know what to expect.

@James Patterson - That's an excellent idea. 'Cause it looks gross now, but that gross may only be skin deep. 😉

I've watched almost all of this build and without dropping any names ... out of all the house builds I've watched you 2 have been the most organized seemingly in order. The trim issue is so minor compared to the disorder I've seen. It is obvious that you give every step every bit of for-thought that Every project requires. Some folks need to take notes on how you have done this build. I realize it isn't always soo peachy however you both make it seem to go smooth.
