This will be an ongoing series based on critiquing airports or airplanes that are depicted in media. This video is about the all of the aircraft in the game GTA V Parody of @CinemaSins
@@helicoptersauce Why would they do that lol? If you need more realistic plane physics - go play Microsoft Flight Sim instead. GTA is in no way a realistic game lmao
@@Byclops5712He meant that the in-game model was a disrespect to the real AN-225 due to the sheer number of inaccuracies. Obviously this was not a great joke, since the plane isn’t really based on the AN-225. However, he most likely did not mean that the irl plane’s destruction was what was disrespected.
this might sound really nerdy and stuck up but fuck it, the reason the devs make the vehicles in game look different to the ones IRL is for cooyright reasons. They own the rights to the design of the vehicle so making a model of it in a video game without their permission would be a breach on copyright law.
This is where you get people who are obsessed over things do this. "Why does that car look like a Ferrari but is called a cheetah?" "Why does that A10 look like that?" Idk maybe because Rockstar doesn't want to pay copyrights to over 100+ Real world cars and aircraft. Could you imagine asking Lockheed Martin or Boeing to see if you can have their aircraft in the game. Don't get me wrong, I love GTA's aircraft and I totally get why they don't look realistic, but R* isn't going to spend the next 2-3 years detailing their vehicles to suit people's likes. If you want a real world aircraft, Get a Mod!.
Yhea im annoyed that so many of these are just that they are not acurate to what they are based of. Like yhea its bot supposed to be exactly the same thats why they have different names
Most of rockstars planes are planes mixed in, like the b52 engines on the 225 or the lazer having a twin tail instead of the singular tail. It’s a creative idea but they put little detail into it
@@LunarMARAUDERIt’s not a problem? The idea is not to make direct copies of vehicles and to rather take inspiration from many to both make a lore-friendly car that fills a wide niche and to avoid trademark infringement.
5:06 It's a MiG-17. The MiG-19 was a supersonic twinjet while the 17 was single-engined. Actually, it appears to have the fuselage of a MiG-15 with the wings of a MiG-17. Cursed as shit. 6:20 That's a radial engine; rotary engines haven't really been used since WW1
I suggest you look up what rotary engine actually is. Its not the wankel engine you are thinking of. Its basically a radial but block spins and crankshaft remains stationary. Thats the only difference to radial engines.
I counted only 12 sins and they were for either repeated cockpits, seating capacity errors, car doors, and design issues (alkonost short landing gear for example) Mixture of designs from different planes to avoid legal issues shouldn’t be counted as sins.
Woulda preferred this video if it was actually pointing out things actually wrong with the aircraft mainly, instead of pointing out how they are different with their real life counterparts, theyre meant to be different
@@SpidaMezthen maybe don’t count differences to irl counterparts as sins, as it’s just rockstar trying to avoid getting sued. Not hating, just constructive criticism.
The aircraft don't look identical on purpose.... would of preferred if you spoke about stuff like the flaws with their GTA designs instead of 'sinning' it for not completely copying it. I don't think GTA is your type of game if you only play for the vehicles and you only like vehicles identical to real life
The Hydra actually takes more inspiration from Avpro's super Harrier proposal, an upgrade for the british harrier that includes a JSF stealth, jump jet design that gives the aircraft, another verticle stabiliser and has a low RCS, blended fuselage-nozzle type that provides afterburner, and can carry 4 more missiles underneath it's belly. It's an unorthodox design, but it is a way better JSF design proposal upgrade than the F-35's design.
The nimbus isn't at all based off the longitude . It's primarily based off the Cessna citation X . And a mix of the Embraer Praetor 600(cockpit windows)
no the mig 17 has a different tail, the tail that is on the game is the exact tail that is on the mig 19 even thought the color is really matching the mig 17
Addendum: the Shamal’s instrument cluster displays the pitch and yaw incorrectly, being flipped for some reason. The Alkanost’s wings, despite clearly having the slotting and mechanism for it, are not able to sweep to the rear position like the Tu-160.
The designs are different from real life to avoid copyright issues because they don't have license to use real airplane models in their games. 1:34 Idk if the registration is too long or not. 2:06 I'm surprised you didn't put a sin on the fact that the instrument panel of the 747 in the game is too simple and is suited for light training planes and modern airline jets have glass cockpit. This jet doesn't even have a PFD, MFD and autopilot. The Cargo Plane's cockpit is more modern and accurate for modern airliners. 2:28 "The Hydra or Lazer is obviously based on Harrier in real life" those two are different jets. 5:39 I like that you put a note that the lights on the left wing are for newer models of Cessna 172 since older models like 172M has lights like where the Mammatus' lights are 7:05 Better if it's FBI instead of Lockheed Martin. Anyway, I like that part to poke at the reference to classified information I like how Rockstar gave Alkonost stealth capabilities which will activate after reaching a certain altitude and above. The TU-160 was designed for reduced detectability to both radar and infrared signature, but it's not a stealth aircraft. The biggest sins should be Rockstar making the Cargo Plane unobtainable in free mode singleplayer and making it and the 747 unobtainable in free roam in Online, not to mention the Cargo Plane's turbine blades rotate despite being unobtainable while most obtainable jets have turbine blades which do not rotate. Is it too much for them to allow us to fly those planes in free roam in Online and the Cargo Plane in free mode in Singleplayer?
4:52 surprisingly, Rockstar got the interior correct for the RJ contrary to what is mentioned in the video. Most regional carriers such as SkyWest and Air Wisconsin that operate(or used to operate) the 200 ran them in 2-2 configs. Some carriers may have a few in a 2-1 configuration, but I believe you may have mixed up the interior description with the slightly narrower ERJ-135/140/145 which is run in a 2-1 configuration.
If you knew GTA vehicles, you know Rockstar always avoid copyright problems by "mashing up" designs Most of the "sins" you pointed out are the exact ways how Rockstar gives us so many vehicles without legal issues
Absolutely love this video, I've been wanting something like this for so long! Coulda dinged the Learjer 45 for appearing to be a commercial aircraft versus it common use as a private or leased jet
i remember one of the propeller planes like the one based on the p51 or something turned very strangely on the ground. it felt like the control wheel was in the front when it was actually in the back
As others have said in the comments, I believe that the In-game cargo plane is actually based on the smaller 125 Ruslan. The overall look of the plane matches the 125 much better with the exception of the 8 engine pods.
I really like this, even tho you missed some planes like: stunt plane, nimbus, luxor, or those other stunt planes added in the smugglers dlc, that water landing VTOL and more, you really should make a sequel
From now on, you'll be thinking of me at some point during the making of your future intros, and when that happens allow me to remind you how good you are at this. Stay safe out there
The rogue which you say is a pc-21 is actually a t-27 tucano. The cockpit is more sleek and conforms to the shape of the fuselage on the tucano rather than the pilatus, and the rudder is larger on the tucano just like the rouge.
I’ve noticed the airspeed indicator is usually in the yellow arc even when throttles at idle, even when taking off It goes to the yellow right away, sometimes taxiing. when you pull the power the plane descends rapidly. Airliners today use glass cockpits. I have expectations for Gta6
As a pilot in real life who began his dream with the Hydra in GTA Online on 2015 i enjoy your videos about the aviation in this game. I always talk with a friend about how realistic will be the flight system on GTA 6 and how precise will be the models of the planes and fighter jets compared to the real life.
I was expecting a critique of Trevor attempting to land a massive cargo plane at Mckenzie Air Field or how Devon Weston's jet was still doing pre flight checklist while there's an active police chase going on right outside
I'd love to see helicopter critiques, there are a lot of them. The Hind is all sorts of messed up. You get in on the wrong side, the pilot and gunner seats are swapped, and the livery (which you can't remove) is a United States one, despite it being a Soviet helicopter.
Well, in 1988, Glasscockpits where pretty common on (at this time) modern Aircrafts. Like the Boeing 757, 767, 747-400 and the Airbus A320. But USSR was something different xD
1:19 Now, I'm an all time 747 fan so I'm here to point out some mistakes you didn't point out: -The nose landing gear doors are way too long compared to the real life plane -The windows are a little bit too small -The front section of the plane is just too smooth compared to the real life plane, almost like the 787 -The winglets are bigger than normal -On the Air Herler livery, the aft exit doors are not painted, so they're just completely white -For some reason, the Economy section's (located at the rear) windows is missing a window -No luggage bay doors -Last, but not least, theres 6 rows of windows missing on the rear of the aircraft just before the aft doors. Anyway, that's all folks
1. It's called a rudder, not a yaw. Yaw is the movement of the aircraft, not the control surface 2. Not all stalls lead to spins, a spin is an uncoordinated stall 3. The C172S has landing lights on both wings 4. Older C172 variants have landing lights behind the propeller
5:06 the MiG-19 that you show is actually a MiG-17, however the tail resembles the F-86 because of its "all-flying" tailplane design. the MiG-17 had a "Cruciform" tail design which has the Horizontal stabilizer intercept the vertical tail to create a cross like configuration. in game its closest version could be the MiG-17F due to the afterburner.
the F160-Raiju is based on the YF-23 F-35 and the F-22, the front area is based off the F-35 while the wings resemble the early model for the F-22 and the back end is based off the YF-23 prototype. Hope that helps a better understanding about the jet.
it's just normal; copyright issues yk ? they do this to be as close as reality possible without leaving the "gta" world. just like soda brand, cars brand etc...
Only the forward fuselage of the F-160 is based on the F-35. The entire rear fuselage is based on the Sukhoi LTS, a similar concept from Russia which also uses a V-Tail and single engine layout.
Another miniscule but still noticeable pet peeve among GTA aviators is that NONE of the planes have pitot tubes. Even if they don't actually work, it would be nice to see them.
There is a reason why the wing struts and landing gear struts are straight. Also the Cuban is based off the Cessna 310 not the PA30, the reason i know thatr is because the nose landing gear is beyond the nose of the aircraft, the large probe ontop also represents the 310.
For small things like the number of propellers, idk if it was made by lack of attention to details and accuracy but everything was done because of licensing just like Ford is Vapid in GTA
