"it makes ZERO SENSE that the Joker would leave Robin alive..." Boy, that's the definition of Joker. Also, he locked the door which ACTUALLY makes more sense for Joker who gave him false hope before dying
100% The Joke is that Robin THOUGHT he was going to get out alive. His hope is the setup and his realization that he's going to die is the punch-line. CinemaSins, however, only takes things at very VERY literal levels. Good for a laugh sometimes but don't dive in too deep, you'll hit your head.
"YOU SHATTERED HIS COLLAR BONE!" *hundreds of hours of Arkham gameplay flash before my eyes, showing thousands of men left in a vegetative state lying on the rooftops and gutters of Gotham*
I made this up: "YOU SHATTERED HIS COLLAR BONE!" "So what? You ever broke anything?" *Has Arkham game flashbacks of breaking people bones* "No, why would you ask that?"
When Joker said “Tell the big man I said... hello.” he wasn’t talking about Batman. He wasn’t giving Jason any false hope, if anything he was cementing his intentions of killing him.
Scott Matheson actually he believes life is one huge joke and god is messing with them also joker has literally interacted with gods on a regular basis
Big Man Upstairs. That was my thought too, especially since the door to the room Robin was being held captive in was rigged with a bomb and locked from the outside. This Joker plays for keeps, just like in the comics.
Bruce: You shattered his collar bone!! Jason: ohhhhh I'm SO SORRY - lets go down to the hospital so I can apologize, and while we're there you can apologize to the guy you put in a full-body cast last week
@@taylynhopkins To be more accurate, it was because he let his anger cloud his judgement and lead him to shatter his collarbone. If robin was thinking he would know that breaking his collarbone was gonna send him into shock. So it has more to do with him losing control which is exactly what batman took him in to prevent.
@@taylynhopkins Guys, certain secret agencies used to put people intentionally into shock during interrogations because that way they would be more likely to tell the truth. Also Batman did that too to Marloni when he threw him down from the rooftop in The Dark Knight. So yeah, Batman IS a hypocrite.
"When did Deadpool get here?" - You mean the same Deadpool that was originally created as a counterpart for Deathstroke? Can't really sin them on that part.
Eh a joke not a counter part. And who has made more money despite being created later? OOOOOOH DEAD POOL - SEXY MUTHA FUCKAAAA! There's been like.... 4??? Death strokes now? 3. Maybe 5? Live action?? Yeah. Great character.
@@Sam_sehdev4479 It goes both ways, Marvel made Vision after Red Tornado and DC made Bumblebee after The Wasp. What really annoys me is when two completely different characters get called copies, like obviously Deadpool took a huge chunk out of Deathstroke’s book but they have completely different personalities. Although I think we can all agree that Moon Knight is a rough one.
3:59 Jeremy: "Nightwing is the equivalent of the annoying theater patron who describes loudly and in excruciating detail everything that happens on the screen." Me: "So he's the equivalent of YOU, then?"
.....So is there a CinemaSins Sins? I'd love to see someone defend the movie against the one sinning it... making equally snappy comments. it'd be funny as hell.
Tim as in Tim Drake? I barely see him...and for Damian to be your friend you must be quite the person...seriously isn't Damian an asshole? I vaguely remember him ungodly annoying in a movie or comic.........
The leaving him alive with some hope of escape was kind of the joke. He was supposed to get all the way to the door he just saw Joker exit, only to find it locked with no time left to escape. It's to create that feeling of hopelessness.
@Casted_Shadows No, he was kidnapped, then the issue ended and the voting happened. No matter what, the bomb would have exploded. The checking the pulse thing he does was so they could just switch between one panel, as in the comic they explained how he was alive, the used the alternative panel.
Batman being sad he lost his emo gun-nut sidekick to the dark side is not same as a man we’ve known for 11+ years sacrificing himself to every living being my friend.
I facepalmed so hard at the "So we're just basically ripping off Spider-Man at this point." Dick Grayson was always chatty ever since he appeared in the 40s. Spidey appeared in the 60s and was specifically made to be chatty to market in on the kid superheroes that Dick Grayson started. Yeah, the books don't matter, but neither do other franchises, so why bring this up anyway? Also, apparently Jeremy has never eaten a funion.
Any sin that contains "It makes zero sense for the Joker" should be heavily reconsidered, given that it's the Joker, and being bugfuck insane is his entire schtick.
0:50 - getting hit with a crowbar doesn't mean he'll instantly die, Robin looks seriously injured. 1:04 - Joker's gotta escape from the bomb too. I'm guessing he wanted to give Robin a feeling of hope that he'll survive, until he hears the bomb go off. 8:29 - That's not the point, you literally removed the next part where he says "you put him into shock and we needed information out of him" 10:00 - chips aren't always perfectly shaped, it could have a crack in the middle. Anyone who has ever eaten chips would know this. 12:46 - Batman and Nightwing literally said that the knife wasn't a normal knife
Jason Todd didn’t want to kill Batman, he was just putting on a show like Batman says and Jason Todd didn’t see his hallucination, he just knows what triggers Batman and Jason Todd explains what his plan was, get black mask so desperate that he resorts to making a deal with the joker which is why he didn’t kill black mask with the bazooka, u r seriously cutting out some main plot points AND Jason was so clouded by anger he wasn’t thinking right and thought Batman cared enough about him to kill the joker which is why he was so shocked that Batman walked away Come on
Yeah he didn’t get the emotions of Jason’s anger ... Jesus Christ guys, dumb choices are prevalent no matter what angsty emo shit reasons are behind it.
They sinned Skyfall having a scene shot in the same location as Taken 2. Then when they sinned Taken 2 they sinned the scene for being shot in the same location as Skyfall and even referenced the previous sin. They clearly don't give a damn.
The reason that Jason never had any blood on his face or wasn't massively mutilated by the explosion is because of the movie's age rating, nothing to do with lack of thought.
For its rating, Jason's initial death got pretty dark. Even without seeing the impact, just the sound of each hit along with his feet twitching in the shot made it uncomfortable to watch,
In addition to very slowly fighting crime, Gotham Police Department's arsenal of blimps are also used to help the city's residents enter their door-less bathrooms vis-a-vis said bathroom's window.
I'm glad you mentioned that, because I really hate that people think that scene is good. The Joker is able to kill those guards because they fucking stand there like lambs waiting to be slaughtered. You can't tell me that in the time it takes to break a glass, slice someone's throat, and take their gun, not one of FOUR OTHER PEOPLE would have shot him. The entire scene is basically DC masturbating itself.
Adrian Matos a guess a sin could be the unnecessary explanations and the fact that the red hood was so obvious Batman needed 3 different ways to verify one being fucking DNA
Dean ex Machina sure you're tired as shit over a 10+ season ongoing show but explain to me how does that make voicing an angry and unhinged gun totting ex sidekick was flat? Cause it doesn't.
Dean ex Machina just because you hear Dean doesn't mean he didn't fit, it just means you're brain is more used to that voice coming from the character of dean
Most of the nitpicks you pointed out were invalidated if your just waited, In 9:32 you asked why Jason needed a bazooka to kill Black Mask and then gave him a head start, In the hostage scene Jason said that his goal was to get Black Mask into asking the Joker the joker for help, He wasn’t trying to kill him, Just intimidate him to the point of desperation
I wish the sins guy had done a line during mentioning the "fetish wear" bit from Joker: "really? That's the best you got? Seems like DC are picking the kind of writers whose bits include 'laughing cause I farted' jokes."
Bethany O he perfectly pulled off the voice of betrayal and anger behind Jason Todd, the dark humor and sarcasm is on point he did a perfect job as Jason.
But that's the point. CinemaSins isn't supposed to make our minds up for us, the sins are all his opinion, sometimes we agree and sometimes we don't, but all in all, it's in good fun.
to be fair, the comic book is much better, because it doesnt make it blatantly obvious who the red hood is right away (not to mention not long before Clayface was posing AS Jason to throw batman off). For what its worth, this movie is still very entertaining and worth the watch. I personally would have knocked down a sin or two for Jason's brief talk about the Joker with batman. That was some powerful voice acting. And in the end, this is STILL a better movie than most "real action" DC movies of the past, dunno, ten years? "Ignoring what he's done in the past-blindly, stupidly disregarding the entire graveyards he's filled, the thousands who've suffered, the friends he's crippled. And I thought...I thought I'd be the last person you'd ever let him hurt. If it had been you that he'd beat to a bloody pulp, if he had taken you from this world, I would have done nothing but search the planet for this pathetic pile of evil, death-worshipping garbage...and send him off to hell!" "Why? I'm not talking about killing Penguin or Scarecrow or Dent. I'm talking about him. Just him. And doing it because... Because he took me away from you."
The comic book had the advantage of Jason Todd being dead for more than 10 years and not being in any comic (except as a memory). No reader knew it was Robin until it was revealed. The movie can't count on this advantage so it made the story easier.
Yeah. It would be much more difficult for the movie to set this one up properly. I do think they handled it well with the limitations they had though. All things considered its still a good watch, but I'd strongly recommend people read the comic book as well :)
That speech is honestly my favorite part of the movie. The voice acting there is incredible. The break in his voice when he gets to,”Because he took me away from you.” Gets me every time.
Another advantage of the comic was Jason being back from the dead had been done and revealed as fake in the comics less then a year before the comic did it for real. So no one though DC would do the same reveal twice in such a short time.
And don't forget the Batman reply: "It would be too damn easy" , implying that the hardest thing to do is to be coherent with oneself and that the Joker is, in fact, the hardest villain he ever face, not because of his madness, but because he challenges the very thing that makes a hero, a hero. To be honest, I forgot everything about this movie except that one line: "it would be too damn easy". It is a very concrete way to answer a really good emotional speech with a line that shows how hard is the inner fight in comparison to the exterior fight. I just find beautiful the fact that for Batman it is easy to kill someone than to be what he needs to be.
Jason's resurrection in the comic books was actually dumber, where apparently after Superboy prime literally punched a hole through reality it somehow cause Jason's to come back to life.
Almost as dumb as Darkseid shooting Batman with his Omega Beams, and instead of disintegrating him like it does with any other human it sends him back in time haha. Batman's plot armor is astounding.
In 8:34 the reason why Batman is angry at robin for breaking the guys collar bone is cause it put him in shock and now he is unable to give them information he literally says it before you cut him off
Did you just defend cinemasins by telling us his representation of the movie isn't flawed because even if he misrepresents a movie it doesn't matter because he isn't being serious, even though he makes no distinction between serious sins and all his other sins? Just trying to figure out the mental gymnastics you had to do to get to your conclusion
A: Best movie ever COME AT ME B: jk but u get my point C not supposed to be serious sins D Batmna straight up murders fools he fights! Have you SEEN the Arkham Games my dude. Course, theres a game theory on it
3:50 Have you ever played an RPG and finished it with like 300 potions, hoarding them from basically the start of the game and never once using them 'just in case'?
"You shattered his collar bone!" Every fight I've ever had in any of the Arkham series games just flashed before my eyes, even that mobile batman arkham game that took place before arkham city. Lord knows how many men I've left paralyzed from the neck down.
You mean the animated ones right? Those are okay, not my favorites though. I'd list Justice League: Gods and Monsters, Justice League: Doom and Green Lantern: First Flight as as good or better than this one.
jensen.... but i agrees. though it would be better in one of the arrowverse shows... since they film that and spn almost next door. and we could finally have a spnarrow crossover
@@tylerensley2628 Well, Deathstroke is more similar to Deadpool than Red Hood. Some of the similarities are that they are both assassins, both can handle swords and guns, and both have the last name Wilson
yeah, but arsenal and starfire were way more fun and interesting characters, where as in my opinion bizarro and artemis are just really boring and the dialogue is pretty shit, I still like to read it but it wasn't nearly as exiting for me as vol 1
You can't mention Buffy The Vampire Slayer without knowing what Jensen Ackles (The Red Hood) does on his TV show, Supernatural. I demand a recount CinemaSins!
So I guess we should inform DC that they cannot do anymore animated movies now that Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy have retired from voicing these two characters?
Kameron Tive Both Kevin and Mark have threaten "retirement." Multitude of times. But what it honestly comes down to is MONEY. Mark Hamill even said it after Arkham Asylum that he was done doing the Joker if he didn't get paid more the next time. Come Arkham City he got extra zeroes on his paycheck and voiced Joker again. For Killing Joke, Mark and Kevin both said that is the one thing they would always do no question. etc... Its been quite a few animated movies since either of them voiced those characters. They're doing Justice League Action but neither is much of a main character on that show.
so they are OBLIGATED to do everything involving Batman and Joker? They HAVE TO voice those characters until they die? NO ONE ELSE can voice those characters?
And the fact that they jump from absurd heights kinda ruins the suspension of disbelief. And when they are in a bathroom with no door. I like to think Jason miscalculated and jumped through the wrong window and if Batman hadn’t bodied him through a wall. His plan wouldn’t have worked out so well. But other then that. 10/10
Denner Silva everything is better than killing joke. The Batgirl x batman relationship ruins the whole point of the comic. Just becomes batman wanting revenge.
Even though Hamill and Conroy don't do the voices (Greenwood and DiMaggio do good jobs while Ackles is fantastic), this is still my favorite animated Batman movie.
Ackles is a one trick pony, and considering Red Hood is basically Dean Winchester a character he's played for What? Twelve years? He better have been fantastic.
Yeah, it's weird to hear other voices besides Conroy and Hamill for Batman and Joker because I watched my brother play all the Batman Arkham games so yeah.
DiMaggio is an amazing Joker actually. I won't say he's better than Hamill, I will say he's different from Hamill's Joker in that he's more of a psychotic thug. His voice is actually how I imagine "The Criminal". If you know, you know.
Sharil Shahed I agree with you on that. A lot of these sins felt forced. Kinda disappointed, if you’re gonna sin a good movie go for it but put some effort into it.
They're not even just forced, they're incredibly disingenuous. He sins aspects of the film that are clearly explained within it and then deliberately leaves those details out to make his point seem more credible.
The Sentret it sounds like he didn’t even read the comics...He asked why didn’t Jason kill Batman...At the start when he wanted to kill him(when he came back)he wanted him to suffer like he did,but after his anger wore out after years(while being trained with the Assaisins) he wanted him to kill Joker because that’s all he wanted to see
@@gasgasugasusam He didn't even have to read the comics Jason literally says it in the finale "this is what it's all been about" Everything he was doing was to create that circumstance with him Batman and the Joker, obviously that would be redundant if he killed Bats
@@gasgasugasusam he said in the video if todd doesnt want to kill Batman why is he doing things that could kill Batman, did you actually pay attention?
I hate people that take these videos seriously. No movie is without sin. Thats literally the motto of this satire channel. I love all these videos regardless of how I like the movie.
You mean aside from the fact that Jason Todd is a terrible character and his rebirth makes no damn sense and is one of the worst comic book stories of all time?
The Creeper obvious troll is obvious. Seriously, you're an idiot. A lot of people loved this comic and movie. And your pathetic opinion doesn't change that one bit at all.
Oh, man. Thumbs up for the “Always” reference alone! Lol! That being said thanks for touching on that fight in the bathroom with NO DOOR! That bothered so many people.
And he waits so much and waves when "trying" to kill the mask because he wasnt trying to kill him.Just scare him to death and have some fun while doing so.
Lee Francis Judilla no it is not criticism it is someone going through a movie pointing out minute errors that have simple explanations or if included would make the film boring and long.
Lesley Harrys What I meant was according to the comics, Lazarus Pits could not be used infinitely. And we can't exactly use any science here, considering they're fictional.
"As you know" makes sense in this scene because he's about to explain something to Batman in that context. Simply saying "We put him in the Lazarus Pit lol" wouldn't be Ra's way of acting all mysterious anyway.
