I think the scene of Murphy getting shot repeatedly is one of the saddest and disturbing scenes in film history.

I think it's safe to assume that the spike-port things are just a standard means of connecting technology in the Robocop universe and Robocop, being a cyborg, has been given a means to interact with them.

“You call this a glitch?!” Well actually yes considering ED didn’t react at all when it saw Jones having a gun pointed at him and only reacted when the gun was pointed at it. Pretty big glitch for what is supposed to be a police robot.

Missed Sin: The Old Man just saying "You're fired" to Dick Jones shouldn't have worked because the CEO can't just fire high-level executives on a whim.

This is dumb. There is nothing wrong with the original Robocop, it's perfect for its time and still holds true to many extents today. Anyone saying otherwise probably didn't grow up during the 80s and early 90s.

Nothing is wrong with Robocop this classic film is timeless.

As a 9yr old watching this movie it was cool . I love all the spoof commercials and its campiness too, great balance of violence and comedy.

Paul Verhoeven didn't want to direct this movie at first but then he saw an opportunity to create his own version with heavy social commentary... All these advertisements are heavy contemporary social commentary of american society in the 80s, and the whole movie is filled with dark, dystopian humor. I'm glad you finally got it, that you are criticizing a social commentary / satire - it might looks like some kind of action robot sci-fi, but that's just the top of the iceberg.

This is one of the first movies I ever saw. I was like OOOHHHH, thats why movies are different than TV!! I thought all movies would be rated R and extremely violent. Sadly they weren't. Robocop is still a classic/Masterpeice. Watching this complaints video just made me want to go watch it again. Movies like this and the first Infinity Wars makes me wish I could erase my own memory so I could experience them for the first time again.

In store robocop bends barrel of a gun while robber is holding it. I buy that robocop have enough strength to bend barrel of a gun, but I do not buy that the robber has enough strength to hold that gun in place while robocop bends the barrel. Robocop would just pry that gun off from the robber.

Even though I do still like this movie I'm not going to bash the remake because 1. I haven't actually seen it yet and 2. I'm not that ignorant to bash every remake out there.

Regarding Directive 4: Here's the tl;dr version: Dick had to make Directive 4 vague enough that it would protect him, but not obvious enough that he was trying to protect himself. For the more lengthy explanation, I realize the sin involved is more a "this isn't explained" kind of thing, but the reason Dick Jones didn't have Directive 4 make Robocop "do everything I want in order for me to win" is because it wasn't his project. He can offer his input and have safeguards put in play with regards to being Senior Vice President of the company, but ultimately, Bob Morton isn't going to allow a hated competitor put "This thing turns off in my presence" into it's core programming. In fact, even a company as stupid as OCP would see that as a massive warning sign that Dick was up to something. As well, it's not unreasonable to assume Morton's team resisted the Directive to the point where it became "slow reboot" instead of "instant shutdown" to allow Robocop time for corrective behaviour to be established in the event of a legit error. Remember this was his baby. His ticket to knocking Dick out of the number 2 spot and securing his future forever. He wanted the Robocop program to succeed and having an easily accessible off-switch would be very bad for it.

I love this movie one thing that stands out to me is at the end in the steel mill when he tells lewis she should leave he reloads his gun and the actor Peter Weller visibly strains to pull the slide back when Robo is supposed to be Incredibly strong. 🙄

I'm still impressed with the robocop costume. Like, it's almost ancient but it still looks amazing!

I didn't mind the reboot, but a rewatch of the original reminded me how much depth it had- that I had completely forgotten about.

I just watched this again last night. I got one to add. The cobra rifles are so high caliber but there's zero recoil everytime it's fired.

The Dad from that 70's Show has ALWAYS been a badass and, even at his funeral, he'll probably come back and F with the people that he knows are full of crap. Dude is awesome, no matter his age, he deserves incredible respect.

4:49 The bull-pups the cops are using are Steyr AUG assault rifles. The Mossberg 500 is a pump-action shotgun, and not even bull-pup to begin with, so I don't understand how you could mix up two weapons that are designed and operated completely differently from each other. A minor technicality I could understand but these weapons could not be more different.
