Really like the fact you bring up actually looking at the sens of pros in the game you want. I always hear people talk down on it but its really a helpful thing to give you a ballpark starting area to adjust around. Great video West keep it up. Really liked the last part I noticed noone had talked about it either and I actually had done research and testing on that stuff myself as a result glad to see someone bringing it up.

With keyboard and mouse being what I grew up with vs a controller, it's cool to see you put into words what has become instinctual after almost 20+ years of gaming. What really hit me was when you talked about how when looking up and down the vertical axis affects your horizontal rotation input from the mouse, instantly brought me back to the halo days of exploring that concept to much amusement (and some motion sickness). Got a sub from me man.

It makes sense that sense changing can be beneficial. In apex I change my reticle color all the time just because something as simple as that causes your brain to be less bored looking at the same color and helps it to retain focus. Your brain is far more interested in master new things than sitting on the same approach indefinitely. There is definitely important in some consistency, but pure consistency loses focus. I may try changing sense more often just because that stress of you not being comfortable in your new sense is what causes you to learn. Otherwise you become complacent and if you rely off muscle memory you may be underthinking because you think your brain should just know point A to point B for you.

For people wondering about fov it’s complete personal preference and will affect the aim in a game but not all have sliders so it isn’t always viable, for instance cs is capped at a flat 64 but i would never play anything above 100, i have found my almost perfect fov i like at 84 but i may get an insane score in a trainer with 79 on the same or different sens, mainly focus on how bug the heads of targets are and what you feel comfotable with going down from 100 and testing the lower the fov the easier usually it is to not only have low sens and move a wider rom but also see targets much easier, you dont want this to impede and affect your overall view if it feels uncomfortably low or high. Also just one last thing changing sens doesn’t usually mean by making 5.1 to 6.1 it’s usually swapping between the . Mark by 6 or so and finding 2 good ones that you can’t decide between and then going to lower more precise harder to measure values which in practice proven that even lower values even tho not seen as anything definitely could be that difference between consistency to a headshot and not, these are the values for example past (6.2) .3456789 etc so if 211.2167519 isn’t good change the last lowest value and work your way up switching between halves and full decimal points.

It's really intriguing to consider the non linear relationship between horizontal planes and the subsequent curve of aiming line. It's not intuitively known or visible yet clearly we all develop recognition and muscle memory in practice.

Is there an explanation for why I seem to perform better on certain sensitivities in aim trainers? For example, I seem to do best on around 27cm, 29cm, 33cm, 37cm and 41cm. The sensitivities in between usually feel 'awkward' for certain scenarios.

@@RentABlackout i have done many many trianing scenarios against perfect move speed bots to the specific game accel and velocity however try to find 2 sens that you can;t decide between usally on the second decimal place for instance 5.66 or 5.67 or 5.7 and 5.6, then go practice against actual players and see the aim improve if headshots feel easier to hit because its faster sens but easier flicking doesn’t mean you would peform worse on 1 decimal place less, a balance between the trainer and the game is key another idea might be using limited ammo to that specific gun that makes you know it’s not unlimited seems to help a bit with ars not so much pistols Also a good tip just don’t play gridshot it will never be the same sens as for instance cs your trying to change sens value to be perfect for that scenario or task which is a very bad learning habit that can stump actual real multiplayer player vs player combat consistency

The study itself, if he would have actually read it in its entirety, does not provide proof of anything, it only suggests a correlation between their method of testing in the context of improvement of a motor function. No control studies were performed so its all just hypothetical like 99% of studies that exist. It also only worked because the participants did not know anything about the changes that were made to the task. If this variable alone were to change, such as me changing my sensitivity conscientiously, the results of this study become even more meaningless in the context of aim training.

I have been opened to the idea of changing sens but the questions I asked to all the aimers who have multiple sens just according to ' yeah this sens felt nice in this game, and this sens felt better in this one, I just use feeling' is whatr sens do you use then when you aim train? since they have up to 3-4 different sens
@WestProter
@WestProter 2 года назад
This is the philosophy I use when coaching pro Valorant players, radiants, apex predators, etc. There's 2 types of sensitivities. Good and bad. A good sens is the easiest sens to use in a given moment. A bad sens is one that is difficult to use in a given moment. Most games and scens have trade offs, where one specific sens may be better than another for x reason, but also worse for y reason. In that case, both sensitivities and pretty much everything in between can be seen as good sensitivities, until x or y become so extreme that the benefits no longer seem to matter. For example, a sens may get so low that even though the enemy feels bigger, they are so far away you can't hit them before they kill you. These are the sensitivities you use in competition/warm ups, high score runs, and when playing very hard scenarios. When training, you want to use bad sensitivities. You may go back to that sens that feels unplayably low and play on it to work on your ability to aim faster. This is how you train with a sensitivity. A lot of times you'll go unplayably high so you struggle with precision. Basically think what you want to improve on, and what sens makes doing that skill harder, use that sens. This is for training, and practice.

@ImInForAWuppin
@ImInForAWuppin 2 года назад
For information on mice I'd check out RocketJumpNinja. He has a lot of good reviews on youtube, and his website is really great for finding mice in your hand-size range. I would only use size as a reference though, since shape makes a much more impactful difference. Look for something big enough that you can fit your fingers onto it with your grip style, and that is shaped such that your grip won't be awkward. If you have the money for it, it is worth experimenting with multiple mice of varying sizes and shapes, but if you don't have the money to try out a bunch of different mice a quick fix could be to change up your grip. If your hands are big on your mouse, fingertip grip tends to feel better than claw or palm as your hand takes up less space. It's might not be optimal depending on the shape of your specific mouse, but it is entirely free.

Most sens changes aren’t meant to make things easier, it’s to make things harder so you improve faster. Also there’s a difference between practice and competition. If you love one sens, only play comp with that sens. But when you’re in kovaaks, run some other senses. That way you’ll improve faster.

How to have the smoothest movement of your mouse. 1. Set maximum sensitivity in the mouse sensor (without it using digital interpolation), and turn off acceleration. 2.Reduce the mouse movement using the mouse settings in windows or game etc until you have the movement speed you want. This results in smoother movement as the high sensitivity of the sensor is being scaled down by the software rather than multiplying it (i.e. it's not having to jump from one spot to another).
@cyrusthe0ther795
@cyrusthe0ther795 2 года назад
Baby it to me? Lion. Why is this a thing? something to do with when it is multiplied it is going having to go past the maximum that is set to while when it is scaled down it is remaining within that the range? like 800 dpi would be the maximum and anything below that would be within range.

yeah as of like a week ago I switched to 5.2k dpi but kept the same dpi (was on 1600 before) my aim has gotten noticeably better since then (probably unrelated) but I'm pretty sure I can feel the difference, and when I say I'm pretty sure, I am factoring in things like placebo and the fact that I probably shouldn't be able to tell past about 800

Tbh I’m on the fence with this one, I played low sens for a long time and I’m a higher sens user now, and my aim is really really fast so I’m not sure if that is part of why, but I feel like it is. @WestProter
@WestProter 2 года назад
Low sens requires more distance between targets, forcing you to work on moving your mouse fast. Play on a high sens and your restraint is control. You can move your mouse faster, but you can’t control it. Play on a low sens you gotta go fast.

@WestProter 2 года назад
@@zia9214 Your hand can only move so fast, also when you start to move your hand really fast, regardless of the sens, you’ll be struggling to keep in control. You gotta think abt what the low sens is actually doing. The targets are bigger and further apart. Obviously you don’t run voxts jumbo if you’re a good aimer, you can run a different scen and then just aim fast and you’ll end up making mistakes because of how fast you’re aiming (key point) and this will cause you to be in control when aiming faster. High sens training on small targets forces out control when the mistakes are from not having the physical precision to be able to hit the target. If you have some kind of shoulder injury that forces you to only aim with your wrist and fingers then no don’t do this you’ll only get hurt more.

@@WestProter My first 4000 hours of CS I had windows mouse accel on without realizing it, and climbed to LEM and A+ on ESEA. I've never been as good or consistent for months since turning it off- it seems like windows mouse accel made the sensitivity of everything slow as can be, and sped up after slightly fast adjustments... I believe I became mostly an arm aimer because of this, and now playing without it, I'm trying to learn how to incorporate actual wrist movements into my gameplay. Do you think that RAW Accel would be worth giving a shot for me? Or should I learn how to use my wrist by playing a normal-high sens? lol I know all of this probably sounds so dumb to you, but I swear my instincts after all of those CS hours on windows mouse accel just wants me moving my arm.. edit- I used to not have to think about these kinds of things, but here's one situation that makes me confused.
