​@Thomas B krisfix is on another level, because he´s rich and can have all those very expensive repair tools. Meanwhile, most people doing these repairs don´t have that kind of money, but that´s also what makes them authentic, as they had to come out with their own solutions. But it also shows people, they can learn to do this and do not need expensive tools for it. Just patience, knowledge and practice.

So you are telling me I only need to check one phase and call it a day ? Some multimeters will register difference in voltage before the coil if phase is not working properly.

@@northwestrepair i doubt that ^^ Look on a boardview the coils are connected together. If you meassure voltage its impossible to have a different value between them. You should check each Phase with a Oszilloscope for a clean Working Signal.

I dont know. Wasnt bold enough to try to find out. This is a logic circuit. If A=true and B=true then execute C. So if something after C assumes A and B being true, something could potentially go wrong.

regulated power supply. In case if shorted to the core, i'd inject 1V. If core is not getting warn, i'd inject more until i see a hot spot somewhere on the board. Sometimes i dont see it at all.

How do you know for certain that the manufacturer was to blame in this case? I always thought that (in a nutshell), planned obsolescence was basically defined as a manufacturer knowingly abusing their plausible deniability* by using deceptive and purposefully malicious negligent tactics to cover for/hide one or more defects and/or shortcomings present in one of their products, distance themselves from any responsibility on their part and deny any and all alligations of the manufacturer being to blame for the issue(s)? I'm quite curious how exactly you think this may have happened here, because I honestly can think of so many other things that may have veen at fault here. Not to mention EVGAs (as far as I know) 99.99% positive RMA record, and the all-around praise sung about it everywhere around the internet where you look? ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯ *I mean plausible deniability as in: (Customer Service representative speaking over the phone to consumer) 'hi Sir, I hear, your GPU stopped working yesterday? AMD cards are mostly fps where Nvidia embeds all sorts of technology into their cards. More complexity, more problems. How ever, the breaking point is not the core but the components of choice and board design. Amd cards are generally weaker on power so they don't break as often. Toyota Corolla don't break often but BMW m5 does. Pick your ride.
