The Evolution ST2800 Universal 2.8m Circular Saw Track is essential if you want to get straight cuts on materials that are 8 feet in length.
The track is also compatible with other makes of circular saw, including-
Evolution R185CCSX+ - 185mm Circular Saw
Festool TS55REBQ-PLUS and HK55
Titan TTB73CSW
Makita DSP600ZJ, DSP601ZJU and SP6000J
Bosch GKS55GCE and GKS65GCE
Triton TTS1400
Erbauer ERB690CSW
Metabo KS55FS
Scheppach PL45
The track comes in two 1.4 metre pieces and is joined quickly using the supplied connectors.
The kit also comes with a carrying bag and two clamps.
In future videos I will be showing how the multipanels in this video were installed, also how to install the kitchen.
Here are some photo's of one bathroom where the multipanels were installed-

I also used the track and saw to cut the tall end panels, base and panels and worktops for this kitchen- www.ultimatehan...

Just ordered the saw from Menards here in the US. The extra long track (110 inches total) is out of stock everywhere including the Evolution website. I got lucky and found one aftermarket site that has it in stock. They’re not going to sell many saws unless they offer a full-length track.

I’ve got the Festool plunge saw and tracks but use the Evolution track saw on the Festool rails when I’m removing floorboards. The rail means that I stay precisely in the middle of the joist and the Evolution blade goes straight through any nails without issue.

That makes a lot of sense. The Evolution saws will cut through almost anything!. Thanks for the comment 👍

There is no end to your talent. 👍. Looked like a bit of a gap on the wall when you put it on them units.😳.
@ultimatehandyman
@ultimatehandyman 2 года назад
I can only cut straight cuts with the track saw, if the wall is bowed, or not straight, it’s the dry-liners fault 😂 One of the walls was an absolute mile out, but on the whole, the dry-liner/plasterer did a great job

I started with this but the dust extraction is pretty useless, even with a Festool midi attached. I upgraded to the 18v Makita plunge saw and the difference is night and day. A good saw for now and then use or DIYers, though.

I started cutting the Multipanels and kitchen panels using my Dewalt cordless, but the dust was horrendous, which is why I started using this. The Makita must have impressive dust extraction 👍

Problem I've had with mine is the plastic edge is very brittle, I've replaced it with a makita edge
@ultimatehandyman
@ultimatehandyman 2 года назад
Yeah, but I thought that all tracks had a similar material for the edge. Is the Makita edge not brittle? I notice that this track is compatible with lots of saws, but a lot cheaper than most tracks! Thanks for the comment

The Saxton blade you are using needs to have a different larger bushing as it has a larger 30mm bore. Also it needs to be installed the other way around as the rotation is opposite to the standard Evolution one.

Great video. I'm trying to decide whether to buy a mitre saw to cut fence posts and decking to size. I'm only making some compost bins but I'm terrible at cutting straight with a handsaw!
@ultimatehandyman
@ultimatehandyman 2 года назад
22 years ago, I renovated a terraced house. I had to install false ceilings in all upstairs rooms, I cut all timbers by hand, even all skirting boards and architraves. Back then mitre saws were expensive, but now they are dirt cheap. I would not be without my mitre saw now, it’s absolutely superb 👍

@@ultimatehandyman cheers. Might get one then! Or practice my hand saw technique. Just out of interest why the false ceilings?
@ultimatehandyman
@ultimatehandyman 2 года назад
@@neil_down_south All the upstairs ceilings were knackered, it was like they constructed them using the wrong thickness of wood, they were all seriously bowed and the lath and plaster was badly damaged. I built false ceilings under each existing ceilings, using this technique- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-W_QmhB5aDGI.html&t

I used a track/plunge saw to build my motorhome a few years ago and the ply sheets are mega expensive so I did a scratch cut at approx 0.5mm any deeper caused serious tear out problems.

Let's take a moment to appreciate the stupidity of the handle orientation in virtually every circular and track saw made today, forcing users to hold it with their left hand (great for lefties though).
@ultimatehandyman
@ultimatehandyman Год назад
I noticed this the other week, when cutting down 4 sheets of MDF into 100mm strips. Luckily, I’m pretty much ambidextrous, so it’s not much of a problem for me. Like you say at least it will stop the left-handers whinging 😂 If any left-handed people are reading this, I have some left-handed nunchakus for sale 😂

How does the saw fit in the track pal does it locate
@ultimatehandyman
@ultimatehandyman 2 года назад
It just kid of slides down the track. At first, you expect it to have a specific locating point, but it just slides down the track. You can only go in one direction though! Once it’s engaged with the track, it can only go dead straight. (I’m probably doing a bad job of describing it)
