Amazing video, I have two of these M7's both with bad capacitors, want to replace them at some point to hopefully get rid of all the noise, they are very nice camcorders
@@Elecami Hey again, replaced the bad caps in both of the M7s today after realising I had the right capacitors already, both went well and fixed the issue, however, one of the M7s can't record to VHS as it seems on of the tape heads has broken from having a close look at the drum. One of them is fully working now, and is very fun to use, just need to get a new battery so it'll be portable. The other one could still be used by using an external recorder. Thanks for this video, do you think you'll get yours fixed eventually?
@@txcgaming2492 Great to hear you go it going. Not sure I will get around to fixing mine. More focusing on documenting all the stuff I have. I have a enough to make more than 100 more videos. I have been repairing some of the things in the videos.
@fabriziooldrini6888 The 2 capacitors that are on the 9V rail. I replaced them with the same capacity but higher voltage rated capacitors. I'll have to have a look at my photos from when I replaced them, but it is a very difficult job
Both cameras seem to have leaking caps, a very common fault with these cameras due to their age. I had the same issue with mine and replaced the two 9-volt rail caps, and now it works completely fine. I don't know about the power zoom, though.
Hey EW, how do you do the motion capture for your animated Lucario? Mold and mildew sucks. I lost a bunch of floppy disks for my Commodore 64 because there was visible mold on the disk surface after they spent years in my damp basement. That house had mold everywhere.
Great video - thanks! I'm tempted to pull mine apart to try and give the tape spools a lil clean. All the stickers on the underside warning me of 'dangerous voltage' inside have me second guessing.. I'll be okay just as long as it's not connected to the AC adapter and all the batteries are removed right?
There is high voltage on the Camera pickup tube. I am not sure if it stores charge like a CRT does. Those parts are usually well insulated inside the camera. You should be ok if you have power off while working on it.
No camera tube in the M7, it uses a CCD instead, so no crazy voltages there. The only place likely to run on high voltage is the viewfinder which is a miniature CRT. That probably has a couple of hundred volts floating around in there.
Hey i have same model but mine when i press power on all red light on and sometimes noise i hear then i open up and changed the belt but i see nothing happens thr loading motor doesn’t start when i eject what was thr problem i am very nervous 😬
@@Elecamiwell i have damn 2 m5 and one m7 unfortunately all not working as I mention i tired now repair them well i can’t change capacitors its so difficult task for me but i will definitely find someone camera repair thanks a lot for ur support ❤
Could be one or more of a range of things. The motor controller, Motor driver, power supply issue. Bad connection / bad soldering. Electrolytic capacitors gone bad.
@@Elecami after it runs for like 30 minutes the speed calms down and the cam plays fine besides a little shaky picture because the headdrum isn't to stable
Hey, I just purchased one of these for ten bucks at a flea market. It turns on and all features on the side work (have an effect within the viewfinder) and it plays back VHS tapes from its receiver, seems to record if opted to with a blank tape. However, if not viewing back a tape it is a grey screen, forward zoom buttons do not work (though record does being REC on the finder) and I wonder where the issue lies or how to repair this. If you have any advice, please let me know! 🐺❤
Probably be power supply issues. Switching power supply in the corner of the main board. Capacitors get a hard time and will be worn out now. That would be the first thing I check.

Hola, me interesó tu canal sobre el desarme y arreglo de las cámaras vhs, tengo cinco cámaras, tres no encienden las otras dos, una no graba y, cuando pongo play, se corta. La otra funciona bien, graba, las otras funciones andan bien, pero no puedo ver por el visor, que puede ser. Agradecería si puden orientarme, no consigo técnico para que la revise, nadie quiere arreglar videos cámaras ni videos caseteras. Me pueden informar que se puede hacer.
I think these will all be power supply related problems. The most common issue is the capacitors inside the camera power supply section have gone bad and need to be replaced.
