The truth isn't as simple as you make it sound. While I agree that it's obvious trump committed crimes, the prosecution has to weigh other factors, AND there can be no mistakes made because you don't know in advance the make-up of the jury. The bottom line is that if trump is brought to trial by the DOJ and the prosecution loses, it'll be a good day only for trump and a train wreck for America. You only get one shot at this. It has to be a slam dunk.
The only problem is the other candidate is sometimes just as bad if not worse. Also, here in Texas I've seen local ballots with no opposition to the incumbent. How do you vote them out?

Ethics note: Since when should a lawyer comment to the detriment to their client? Because once a client, always an ethical duty. While I believe this former president should be prosecuted, as a lawyer, I would decline to comment on whether a client (even if I had no active representation) should be charged with a crime. It does not [in]still confidence in the bar, attorneys as professionals. I agree with his analysis but the ethical issue is separate. While the ABA model code of ethics on duty to a former client is more specific as to prohibiting information from prior representation in a way that would disparage the former client, most would assume he has confidential knowledge based on that representation that informs his opinion. I think it doesn’t pass the smells test to have a former lawyer [on] your show. No matter how horrified I continue to be by Trump’s criminal conduct.

He’s was never Trump’s lawyer, he works for the American people and provides legal consultation to the Office of the Presidency, not the individual who holds the office. Important distinction.

This is something I've been saying, that these wealthy white men are expected to investigate themselves and hold themselves. When their allegiance is not to the United States. They have sworn oaths to have each other's backs no matter what. They belong to the same fraternities and secret societies. They take their other's from men who faces we never see, who's names we never hear. This is all theater...😔 left or right, we're all sheep.
That's why one has to develop critical thinking skills. Has to vet ones own biases with the same vigor that one vets the information given by ones we disagree with. Unfortunately we live in a time of hive mind and cultish adherence. It's particular to but not solely present in the American alt right media sphere. There you see the greatest spike of things like the Dunning-Kruger effect. The idea that through copious searches of the internet that your information base can somehow rival people who have spent a lifetime curating an expertise. It is a ridiculous and sad mental disorder particular to this time. It's often born from a deep seated insecurity around intelligence and education. They want to believe they know something that others don't therefore they seek out conspiracy theories and supposed experts that are easily debunked because of how dubious their knowledge base actually is. It's a time where ignorance has been inflamed with arrogance and the potency of the ID. Trump saying he knew more than the generals is a quintessential example of it.
