@@pisto30nah the really sad part is seeing how many people don't believe in gender equality. Do you think all women who collect alimony are lazy bums?
Why is it so insane? Alimony has nothing to do with the children. If she was the money maker and he raised the kids, what's the problem? Equal rights, right?
It's not often you see the ex-wife ordered to pay alimony, but it *does* happen. The egregiousness of this case isn't that the ex-wife was paying alimony, it's that the douchebag ex-husband thinks he's entitled to more than he already gets. The same as it would be egregious if the genders were reversed.
$1400 every month for 8.5years!!!! God Damnnnnnn The audacity of the defendant to even show his face!!! Why should the plaintiff still have to pay your phone bill still??
You would never see this comment if the genders were reversed. Men pay ridiculous alimony and even pay child support for children who aren't even theirs.
I knew someone will make this "shallow comment" 🤣 Of course equal right stands. All humans should be treated equally regardless of gender. The plaintiff already pays the alimony based on the facts of their divorce proceedings. Why should she have to pay the defendant's phone bill? @@iykeharrison9161

You don't know anything about them or the circumstances surrounding the alimony. It's possible that she got the house and compensated him via these payments. Anything like that could have happened. You see $1400 and assume she gets nothing he gets all that. There absolutely will be a reason for it.
It doesn't matter if he made more or not before the wedding. When they got married it appears he became a stay at home dad who looked after her kids and his and probably didn't work outside.
They don't have to be on your level financially. Rather they need to be the type of person that doesn't expect you to take care of them even after the marriage is over.
It depends on the state my husband had to pay his ex-wife alimony 5 yrs and bc he made more money. She got 1/4 of his pension, which is not much, but she did try to go back all the time to get more until the judge ordered them never to come back to court.
The plaintiff calculated from the date of the divorce filing and not the date of the actual divorce. JJ wanted only the amount from the final divorce date so the plaintiff had to reconfigure.
Why is she paying him ? She needs to get a better lawyer and go back to court about it . He looks like he could be working , supporting himself . She shouldn't have to pay for any of his bills .
I am so glad I am strong enough not to be pressured by the society to get married and have kids. This episode just solidified my belief. I cannot imagine to be paying alimony to someone I am not longer in love with...for years!
I get why it’s a thing if a couple was married for many years and the wife stayed home to raise the children so she’s been out of the work force for a long time. But I disagree on everyone being entitled to it and for the length of time people are required to pay. Should just be long enough for the person to get on their feet, not a windfall
It is hilarious seeing people up in arms because she has to pay alimony. Men pay alimony so much and I am sure no one would bat an eye if it were the reverse. The entitlement is stunning.
Alimony is supposed to be for half the length if the marriage. They were married for nine years. I wouldn’t think it fair for anyone to have to pay for another 8.5 years.

How the hell is that legal??? Please, someone help me out here!!! WHY THE HELL IS HE ENTITLED TO ANY MONEY WHEN THEY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE CHILDREN TOGETHER!!? WHY DID SHE HAVE TO PAY ALIMONY!!???
Being that he filed for divorce from her and he receives alimony… I wonder if she cheated or something? I know of women receiving alimony when they file for divorce because the husband cheated and he was the provider… idk….
MORAL OF THE STORY: Ladies, absolutely DO NOT be so desperate that you get yourself involved with a man who doesn’t bring an equal or higher level of financial wealth into the relationship. Period.
why is it so awful that she has to pay him or are women entitled to different rules any case involving man stiffing ex wife JJ jumps on him immediately
We’ve been happily married for over 40 years, and there’s no problems with us and marriage “laws”. But I’m also not sure what you mean by marriage “laws”
Do not get married! If u really like each other get 2 houses next or very close, and u can visit!! in case both want to dance a tango, fandango or any 2 temps waltz! Ole
