Still the greatest? Really? Travelling. Offensive fouls. How fu&&&ing much did he get away with? They changed rules to stop Wilt. Did they EVER do ANYTHING to slow Jordan down? If you think so, you are a GD idiot. @@blaque5582
So did the people at Nike before they watched him play a game. They said they were going to make the world believe he was the goat whether he was or wasn't using the shoes. It was mind control marketing and propaganda. He was never the best player on Carolina and he was never the best player in the NBA.
I was born in 1978, at 7 years old I started getting interested in basketball. I was instantly drawn to MJ. His skill, passion, and competitive edge made him my favorite player. I grew up emulating him in my game and he made me a better basketball player just by watching him. He will never be topped and will always be the GOAT in my eyes.
54 years old here, Brazilian, physical education teacher, having already worked in professional soccer clubs in Brazil, despite liking basketball I'm more of a soccer fan, but I have to admit, Michael Jordan is the best of them all, I practically followed him throughout his career (since 1987), I completely agree with the guy in the video, and in truth, most of the things he said are facts and that can't even be discussed.
Yeah until you start asking questions like why did they call a foul when the other guy never touched him. Why are they only showing MJ highlights when they lost the game and got swept out the playoffs. Why did he just travel twice and the refs looked the other way. Why is he fighting and everyone got ejected except him.
Um I don’t think what he said makes him the undisputed goat. A lot of it was true feelings. First of all, Larry bird took a 30 win team to a 60 win team in 1 season and won a championship in 1981. He came into the league in 79. That’s just 2 years. It took Mj 7 years. So other players have done more in shorter period of time than Mj. Being the greatest athlete ever in a team sport is hard. It’s a team game. There are multiple sports that are individual. So to say he’s the greatest athlete ever in a team game is bullshit. Larry bird also had the same criteria for his teammates. Don’t be late, work hard, win every game, and dominate. Many other players did too. As far as other 3 peat, for like the millionth time THATS A TEAM ACCOMPLISHMENT. NOT INDIVIDUAL. Mj wasn’t the only reason he won three straight, retired then won three more. Other players have been more versatile than mj, better overall defense and offensive game, and can do more with less talent. Off the court no one cares. Mj ain’t the goat. He might be the best 2 guard but not the goat.
@DanielF892 ima huge mj fan I can feel what your saying no one can do it alone but he was in all around Player ppl think just cause he scored a lot points that's all he did but he lead the league in steals and points and he also been on first defense team multiple times as well as 10 time scoring title
@@garfieldbell2624 I get that. As I said in the bottoms of my paragraph, that makes him one of the greatest 2-guards not necessarily the greatest player ever. He was limited because he’s 6’6. He can’t play all positions as say Lebron, Dennis Rodman on defense, and personally I think wilt could too.
Imagine if LeBron turned the Cleveland Caveliers into a dynasty. Jordan stayed in one place and never asked the front office to trade or draft for a single player. That’s the Goat right there.
He stayed in one place because he had a legendary coach who complimented his skills and knew his potential. He even threatened the GM for even thinking of firing the coach.
@@sisasnyman8554 - Phil Jackson was a nobody before take HC of the Bulls. He’s legendary today because of the titles. No Jordan, no titles, not legendary. Meanwhile, a guy like LeBron gets all his coaches fired. 💀
Great video I 💯% agree no matter how much the media and fans try to hype up other players there will never be anyone to come close to what Jordan did for the league and the culture 🐐💯
I think majority of basketball fans still believe MJ is the greatest. There are some people in the media and fans who believe otherwise but they are wrong. No player has dominated the NBA like MJ, especially in the modern NBA.
Excellent video! Subbed. MJ could do anything he wanted on the court, at any time, to anybody. He transcended the sport with no social media. He is on a completely different planet than any other player. Nobody even comes close.
Your are ON 1,000% some people don’t realize the Legacy that’s this man have and the dominance in the best basketball league in the world, he always be the GOAT no one is even close
Michael was, is, and will forever be the greatest basketball player of all time. He was an artist with the ball, an artistry that few have in the modern game (maybe Kyrie has a bit of it?). Inside, outside, defense the total package. Killer instinct, insurmountable will to win. Game on the line, he wanted the ball in his hands and he wasn't giving it up (except once or twice for Kerr and Paxson to get some shine). He changed the way the game was played, how it was marketed, how uniforms were worn (short ass shorts made way to more comfortable baggy knee length ones). He never once complained about not having enough help, in fact was upset when Krause traded Oakley for Cartwright (which helped make the team better) when it was clear Horace Grant was developing into a solid PF. He never went Title shopping like today's players, he made the Bulls get better and win. He was a world wide icon who brands from all markets wanted to endorse their products. Nike, McDonald's, Gatorade, Hanes, Upper Deck, Coca-Cola, Chevrolet, Wheaties and 2K Sports. Who else has such a portfolio of brands wanting to pay them? Not Lebron. Not Steph. WGN from Chicago was one of the "superstations" we had on cable growing up in Florida. In middle school, you HAD to watch the Bulls games or the next day in school you'd feel left out. "Did you see what Mike did last night?" "That man was flying! And then he like twisted and still made that shit" He was MUST SEE tv because you didn't want to miss something incredibly special happening. The body control flying through the air, twisting and turning, then finishing with some acrobatic unbelievable shot. That shit isn't in today's NBA. 7-8 years ago we had a glimpse of it with Steph hitting insane distance 3's...now everyone's doing it. NO ONE was doing what Mike did. NO ONE has since. Kobe tried, but he lacked the leaping ability and the hands. Vince Carter only had the dunks. Nobody has had the total package that MJ had. No one.
Your comment is as good as the video. I can only add one thing: MJ had the most beautiful game in the history of the sport-maybe any sport. His movement was fluid, economical. Just a pleasure to watch. Think of Brady and Mahomes; they may be as dominant in their sport, but will legions of fans still be watching their videos 20 years later?
Yup, he changed the way the game was played. Call travelling? Har, har, har. Offensive fouls? Har, har, har. They changed rules to stop Wilt, they let Jordan do WHATEVER he wanted. And you think he was the best? Har, har, har.
I did see him play. I saw him commit offensive fouls in the playoffs and not get called. I saw Wilt block Sky Hooks (more than once). I know that the league changed two rules to stop Wilt. Did the league EVER do ANYTHING to stop/slow down Jordan. I will be waiting for an answer. @@Oz1976
No lies spoken. MJ was a basketball savant. Everyday for like 20 yrs. If anything, u underrated his accomplishments. He was mad good defensively, too!!
Mohammed Ali, Reggie Jackson, Micheal Jackson, Mike Tyson, Micheal Jordan, Tiger Woods…Legends! All raised the bar to which others may have come close but never RAISED the bar!
@notopicofflimits Not even LeBron James??? I think that James is better One on One against Jordan.....I like Jordan in aspects of the game situations......
@@altondavis1518 One on one is about being clutch, being better trash talker, tougher mentally, better on on one defender. All of these factors points on MJ. Most of Lebron's famous blocks are chase down blocks, something you won't see too often on 1v1. Jordan was DPOY for a reason.
It's hard to compare totally different positions, but I would not forget about Wilt the Stilt. Dude was also a phenomena and some of his accomplishments are unknown simply to fact NBA did not track as many stats back there..
Great Video! Tastefully narrated, well edited, music flowed, and the message was strong! You've earned my subscription off one video, typically it takes many! Keep it coming big dawg!
Mj is my favorite baskeball player i respect the dedication he put in the hardwork the iq the killer mentality the work etheic bruh i ain't a hardcore basketball player or fan but i don't need to be one to realise mj was that guy
When a player from the 80s-90s had more following back then with just basic/cable tv is known more in those times than any other athlete ever since the internet with the social media at its max, it means something, I could ask my grandma (she's 100% Mexican) if she knew who MJ was and she did, anybody, in europe, asia, africa, etc. Hell now a days with so much globalization, I ask my students (13y here in the US) who is Lebron and only people who watch BB know, nobody else...
I'm with you on this. Despite the greatness of the best players in today's game, there has not yet been --- and may never be --- another Michael Jordan.
Simply put - this is one of the best MJ movies i've seen. Very good job, sir. You say so much in just 6 minutes. There is no GOAT debate in basketball whatsoever. The Lebron v. s. Michael debate is a joke for attention. The only debate is whether Jordan is the greatest sportsperson in history, simply because he transcends the field of basketball. I remember when Obama awarded him with a medal - he said something like: MJ was so good at what he did, that nowadays when you are super good in something, people say 'He is The Michael Jordan of...'. And that's that.
That’s why he’s the GOAT. The younger generations based their GOAT debate on stats only. They don’t realise that there’s more to it than just stats. MJ was an all round player that nobody could stop. Offensively and defensively. His killer instincts and his mentality, his leadership, his athleticism. He made it looked so easy when it wasn’t. He gave 100% each time he played and best of all he never flopped.
❤he was the fred Astaire and michael Jackson of dance, electric and beautiful to watch, a creative magician whos style, grace and flaire were captivating, his hang time and power inspired millions, his play thoroughly entertaining. Its why his shoes still reign today when no one buys anyone elses shoes, because he is a legend of legends, his story heart moving, his raw energy thrilling. He was beautiful to watch, effortless and smooth, springy, like a jungle cat, poetic, like good music he warmed the soul and fired the belief, that you too could groove at life, and like him, transform your life into something beautiful. You could be like Mike.
I think it's a generational thing. If you're old enough to have been around during his career, you know he's the goat. If you're younger and don't remember the 80's and 90's, you don't know just how big MJ was and how important he was to basketball and to the NBA. The word "iconic" gets thrown around a lot, but MJ truly was iconic; he was a global superstar on a level that no other basketball player has ever reached.
I remember in the 80s when Jordan critics would say he'll never be like Larry Bird, Isaiah Thomas (what?), Magic Johnson - because he couldn't get the title, that it was a team sport. Then the 90s came, and Jordan & co. lit up the sport of Basketball so hot, the WORLD went from thinking Chicago - bang! bang! to Chicago - Michael Jordan and the Bulls. His impact was that deep.
Everything you said is accurate! I’m a witness of MJ’s whole career , used to have his Sports Illustrated picture graphic book! Followed him until his Three peat retirement! Undoubtedly the Goat 🐐
Something to consider : my parents in their small village in France don't know much about sport, they don't know who is Lebron James or Kobe Bryant or Steph Curry, Larry Bird or Kareem Abdul Jabbar, BUT they know very well who is Michael Jordan. This simple fact proves how impactful was Michael Jordan.
That NBA Bulls of 91,92,93 first 3 feat and the full comeback from retirement of Jordan in bulls 96,97 and 98 second 3 feat is the greatest NBA history of all time... It will never ever happen again. That era is the most competitive of all time as well because defense is the best offense attitude for every team.
He is the GOAT 🐐 The man Three peated Twice and every Series was over in 5 or 6 games. Never had a Game 7 in the Finals. All you Lebron fans need to get yourself educated
Definition of GOAT ..... More popular than all sports .....I'm a rugby league fan, but rugby league world knows MJ. Cricket world knows MJ. Soccer world knows MJ ....who else? You tell me😉
I've been a Lakers fan since 1981, and Jordan broke the 91 Lakers. Hated him for years, and still had to say he's the best the game has ever seen. There was nothing like it. You're completely on with this one
You're definitely " On" ....and then some. MJ's impact on the world of basketball cannot be overstated. He transcended the sport and elevated the performance of his teammates like no athlete has done before --- pick your sport, pick your era. He was beautiful to watch; an athletic artisan of the highest order. And he took a struggling footwear company from zero to hero, and in the process made billions. Look: there is NO GOAT debate on who the best baller was... because you need to see past the stats to appreciate the the full gravity of MJ's personal and team achievements in an era stacked with some serious--- and I mean serious ---competition. It's context, not numbers (to my LeBron superfans). To date, MJ has reigned supreme (and was arguably the greatest athlete). His GOAT😢 contenders know it too.
You're on. But still coming up a bit short. :) I would suggest that MJ may well have been the greatest entertainer. Or at least the greatest sports entertainer. So gifted on and off the court, MJ wrote the book on due diligence and really ought to be a role model for many of us and in numerous ways. Thanks for this video. Excellent job.
I like Lebron, but the fact that he voluntarily chose to go somewhere else to have a chance at winning over how Michael handled it has me always favoring Michael. Michael worked himself hard, "asked" those around him to work hard, and helped build something amazing along with others over at Chicago. People forget that working with a system and making it succeed is a skill set in itself (ahem James Harden), and Mike even was great at that. Anything that a person will say Jordan was weak at is only because his other game was so dominant that being better than average looks weak. The best part is Jordan had the drive, the iq and the outright ability to succeed at anything basketball related if he wanted to. Concerning Michael and how good he was. It wasn't smoke blown up our ass about how good Michael was (I was fortunately to be alive during his playing time), but it was the fact that no matter how mythical Jordan was made out to be he consistently actually upped that level. He played the game like he was an artist like Greg Maddux when he was pitching, but also with a ferocity like Tyson on both sides of the court, had a winners attitude, but also a stubborness and clutchness that myths are written about. I'm sad that people who weren't able to see Jordan play in real time are regulated to occasional highlights and maybe a full game here or there, but each season of Jordan playing was like another seasons 1 of True Detective. Masterpiece after masterpiece.
You nailed it, My Brother. Mike was truly an inspiration to many people. Thanks for the memories, Mike! You and Scottie patch up that beef. The legacy that you left behind is far too important to be stamped out by a petty feud. Make your Son dump Larsa. That is a garbage move on his behalf, besides, she’s old and used. You deserve some younger, fresher booty, Young Jordan. You can do Much Better, Nephew.
People still don't realize that Jordan is the 3rd best rebounding 2 guard of all time, and the best shot blocking 2 guard of all time. He aves the same blocks per game as LBJ does... He was a monster in every facet of the game. Still 4th all time in steals per game and total steals, and the only player in the top 5 for scoring who didn't play 20 seasons, he only played 15.
MJ never took a play off on either end of the court. He never quit in a series, not once, not even when he was young and faced a completely overpowering Celtic squad, not even when losing multiple times to the multiple time champions, the "Bad Boys" Pistons who would foul him while he was in the air (which lead to rules changes for flagrant fouls).
You're right' brotha! Only 3 teams in NBA history have ever won the most difficult to achieve three-peat.The Celtics in the 60s,the Bulls in the 90s and the Lakers in the 2000s.The Bulls did it twice in in eight years,(93,98).The most dominant team of any era,by far!
What does everyone say when they take the game winning shot? Jordan! Kobe! You'll never hear anyone say LeBron! when they're sinking that jimmy. It's a sad day when people are starting to "forget" about Micheal. Same shit has happened with Kobe. RIP. Micheal Jordan was everything you could ever hope to witness as a Basketball Fan + The Kitchen Sink. Kobe was just as fun to watch, after all he studied the Master (MJ). The NBA media needs to take The King out of their mouth, stand up, grow a spin & start to do their jobs objectively.
