finally someone gets it. Yes we are all descendant from Abraham in some way. Our focus should be on Christ now, not our lineage. Especially in a time that is clearly showing end the end is coming closer everyday. Maybe not in my life time, maybe not for 3 or 10 generations. Christ doesn't want us to worry, He doesnt want us to count the days. So lets obey Him and love our neighbors and try to be as Christlike as we can be.

Thank you Jennifer. The tribes of Judah, Benjamin, and Levi held the southern kingdom, their were actually 13 tribes, because Israel (Jacob) divided the tribe of Joseph into the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh because Joseph had saved the family. The remaining 10 brothers led by the tribe of Ephraim comprised the northern kingdom. If you desire to see where those brothers or tribes wound up as nations look to the prophesies or blessing pronounced on them by Jacob.

The subject here is the clarification of the tribes of Israel and the definition of what it means to be a "Jew". This is what happens to all people groups that are conquered and removed/exiled. They are lost/merged/assimilated. The gods of their culture are usually abandoned (they lost: gods couldn't give them victory:: false or weak gods). Their language is absorbed/lost/diluted as the new generations learn the languages of the host nations. The one exception is the remnant of Hebrew/Israelite population -- the Judahites/Jews and Levites (priestly tribe). They kept their religion and God and kept their language Hebrew (both written and oral) and their culture even after 2,000 years. This makes the remnant of the nation of Israel - the Judahites/Jews - unique in all of human history.

Read Deuteronomy 28, and see which group of people fit the curses from verse 15, to verse 68. They still exist. Hint: Only one race of people in history of the world ever went into bondage on ships, and sold as bondmen and bondwoman (verse 68).

I encourage you to read the entire Deuteronomy chapter 28. I encourage you to read the book of Isaiah. The Lord God said that when he comes back on his second coming he will gather his choosen people(the true biblical Ancient Hebrew isrealites) back from the four corners of the world and bring them back together. I encourage you to read the book of Jeremiah. I encourage you to read the book of acts. It clearly shows you who the gentile nations are. The Romans, the Greeks, the Turks and much more. I encourage you to read the entire word of God. The true ancient biblical Egyptians in the holy bible were black people. You can still find ancient Egyptian sculpture and artifacts in some tribes in congo and. In Nigeria that there ancestors brought with them when they migrated from egypt to west, central of the continent.(referred to todaybas africa). Africa is not the name of that continent, the name Africa is the name of a roman general. Europeans gave the continent that name to cover the truth about the continent. Those people living in the land of Isreal today are not not God s Choosen people. Gods choosen people were scattered to.the four corners of the world through slavery and more. While I find this content fascinating I take issue from a historical perspective with the use of the word/phrase "Jew" or "Jewish" to describe ancient Hebrews. The word/phrase "Jew" or "Jewish" was used to describe a particular group of Hebrews during ancient times. This term was not used by the other 11 tribes or ethnicities who made up the entirety of the Hebrew peoples. Both the peoples of Judah and Israel or Mizraim were Hebrew but not all of them were "Jews". This is akin to calling Black Americans from the early 1900s in the US "African-Americans". That is historically inaccurate and provides a sanitised version of history that's not correct. While these terms or descriptors are used interchangeably in contemporary times they are not the same thing from an accurate historical perspective. Just something to consider when developing such content for RU-vid.

It's been my understanding that the word "Jew" came from the word "Judean"-- which referred to anyone who was a citizen or inhabitant of Judea. What is strange is "non-Jews" also were citizens of Judea, and hence referred to as Judean as well simply signifying "any inhabitant of Judea.'' When the word "Judean" was replaced with "Jew".. Jew was a reference to all Judeans including Gentiles because some Judeans were Gentiles.. and Samaritans also.

I'm an African American and I don't quite understand your point about applying the term African American to my ancestors from the early 20th century. In my mind, they were 'African Americans' if we understand this term to be a sort of ethnic designation. I think you are making a semantic argument, that people who had lived in the US for around 300 years would not have been 'African' anymore, but that is not what 'African American' should be understood to mean. It is not literal. Otherwise, I have the same thoughts whenever I hear the ancient northern tribes referred to as "Jews". I've noticed even modern Samaritans struggle with getting people to understand that they are Israelites but not Jews.

The six days, in Genesis one, is the six months when the sun appears to be in the northern hemisphere (Aries thru Virgo). The six nights, in Genesis one, is the six months when the sun appears to be in the southern hemisphere (Libra thru Pisces). This is the basic chart used througout the bible. See the Last Supper where Virgo is to the immediate right of Jesus, Aries is to his far right. The Scorpion divided into Libra and Scorpio, is to his immediate left and Pisces is to his far left. His left side represents the "winter" of six months and his right side represents the "summer" of six months. When the word day is in the singular the writer is speaking of "summer," and when night is used in the singular, the writer is speaking of "winter."

Lost ten tribes were never really "lost". According to archaeology, after their defeat at the hands of Assyrians, the vast majority of northern kingdom population simply migrated south and joined the kingdom of Judah. This is why the population of Judah suddenly exploded at this point. This clash of groups with slightly different beliefs and stories is likely what motivated creation of codified Pentateuch. Also, several textual sources from the Second Temple period of Judah have their authors referring to themselves as all ten tribes, not just one or two... See e.g. Ezra 6:17 for start.

That's incredibly dishonest. There is no evidence of wholesale deportation of the Israelites by the Assyrians. Sargon II himself writes that he only exiled something short of 24 thousand Israelites - meaning, less than 10% of the population. Most scholars agree that the Israelite population either fled into Judah (that is why the entire Song of Songs is in the Israelite dialect) or stayed in Samaria (who became the Samaritans).

Saying that the entire Israelite population was driven out and only foreigners now reside in Samaria (while these "foreigners", the Samaritans, practiced the exact same religion as Judaism at that time) - gives a legitimate casus belli to Judah to invade Samaria and conquer Israelite territory. Again, most, if not all biblical and archaeological scholars agree that almost none of the Israelite population was exiled, and only a few (smaller than 24 thousand people) were taken to Assyria. The rest either fled to Judah and a handful stayed in Shekhem (now Nablus) and are now called the Samaritans.

The bible, too, is not the word of God, Judaism doesn't claim that the bible is the word of God, it's "divinely inspired" and is a national historical recollection book based on oral traditions that were codified and sealed around the 3rd century BC - just like the Iliad and the Odyssey - they are quasi-historical tales meant to bring forth values and national ethnic perceptions of reality, surrounding nations and the worship of the national deity. Islam believes that the Quraan is the literal word of God, but Judaism is not Islam. In any case, I base my claims of historical, genetic and archaeological research and the scientific consensus.

@Gearóid Quirke - I you read the relevant parts of the Bible you will find that the Assyrians took the Israelites away some at a time up until the last conquest when they conquered all except Jerusalem and took away not only Israelites but Jews from the south too. But you are right some Israelites escaped and found refuge in Judah. Others, notably Dan, appear to have escaped by sailing off along the Mediterranean. There is a passage in Josephus in which the King of the Lacaedemonians (Sparta) sent a letter to the High Priest in Jerusalem in which he recognised that they were the same people.
