Sixth Sense was actually a fairly early card in the OCG, and it was STILL banned when graveyard effects were extremely limited (Monster Reborn, Call of the Haunted, Premature Burial, Backup Soldier, that one dark lord that gives LP every turn if it's in your graveyard, Chaos monsters and a few others, virtually none of which gave advantage on their own *just* from being sent to the GY). Even when its (supposed) downside was harder to mitigate it was still stupidly OP. It just wasn’t released in the TCG for a decade due to being banned really quick.

Sixth Sense draws on average 1.83 cards, so even ignoring the benefit from the milling, it's really close to a Pot of Greed on a trap card. The designers at Konami definitely didn't pass their statistics and probabilities 101 class.

As a MtG player, t's interesting to hear about how card advantage and resources are viewed in the context of Yugioh. I was wondering, could you do a video on the slang of yugioh? Floodgate, float, etc. It would make understanding these a lot easier

As someone who only really got into yugioh like 3 or 4 years ago, this is one of my favorite series, especially since some cards' bans only make sense in the context where they got banned. Hopefully we also get a limited/semi-limited version eventually.

Back in the old days, my friends and I played with either 2000 or 4000 life points. Pretty sure the manual said that 8000 was for beginners. We almost never used Ultimate Offering because giving up a quarter or an eighth of your life was too high a cost.

Why Sixth Sense is banned: It makes the opponent flip the table whenever the activator draws 5-6 cards. Also, a nice fact most people know about SS is that it came in the OCG many years before being imported into the TCG, you can find Sixth Sense in some GBA games.

really enjoy looking at the history of this game through its forbidden/limited list. Its interesting to see how their ideas of restrictive effects on cards to balance them has changed over the years, and cards that they design specifically to be extremely powerful on purpose to influence the game. A series where you go over previously banned cards would be really cool.

I remember playing Sixth Sense in the second Dragon Rulers' format back in winter 2013... You most of the times called 3-4, to draw 3-4 that was still crazy or mill 5-6 that was INSANE in that deck. Good ol' memories.

Great video man! I have just one thing to say about Ultimate Offering. I'm not sure if the video is from before or after BODE, but anyway I don't think the once per turn fix (even an hard one) could be enough to fix it, just imagine what it could do in Floowandereeze, that already uses and recycles Dreaming Town and Magnificent Map in order to abuse Raiza and Avian.

How about Top 10 cards that changed player behavior? Like for example how (from what I once heard) Gorz made it so that everyone attacked with their weaker monsters first, as to prevent the opponent from using Gorz to the fullest

I just started thinking about what a possible retrain of Sixth Sense could be. You still roll a die, but you only declare only 1 number. Then if you land on that number, you can then add a monster who has a level equal to the number you declare. If you don't land on the declared number, then you have to banish a monster of that level from your deck face down.

Hey DuelLogs, really loving your videos so far. Is there a chance that in the future you could go over some videogame-only cards? Or maybe comparing some videogame cards to their actual TCG/OCG counterparts? I would love that. Forbidden Memories and The Duelists of the Roses is chock full of those.

Hey, DuelLogs. You introduced me to Ledger of Legerdemain with this video. And I use it all the time in stall decks. It sees decent success. Especially in Crooked Cook stall-forever strategies. Think about that as you say that Sixth Sense could be fixed by adding this same restriction.

Surprised Magic Cylinder is not on this list. I was told it had a similar effect to Pot Of Greed.

I just wanted to mention that, even though I never really played Yu-Gi-Oh competitively, only casually around 2006 (loved the DS game world championship though, I had an awesome deck!), I still find the topic too interesting. And I watch other RU-vidrs, too from time to time, a decent amount of dzeeff, a cimoooooo here and there, but I´ve decided, that you´re by far my favourite! Just a few spelling errors here and there is literally the only complaint I could think of about your channel, otherwise you´re pretty damn perfect to me!....

Sixth sense can have removes the mill and the declare, but for every card draw it's 1 draw phase skip and hard once per turn. Return from the different dimension can also make it to cannot those monsters activate their effect this turn and you can only summon one extra deck category from your extra deck (for example if your extra deck use link, fusion and synchro you can only link, synchro or fusion summon this turn). Ultimate offering can get errata where it prevent from a normal summoned monster to activate it's effect in order to use offering's additional normal summon.

The most brutal abuse of Ultimate Offering is definitely the tag combo my brother and I had. Black Ptera+Cannon Soldier+Ultimate Offering=instant OTK, back in 2006. Literally Magical Scientist 2.0.

I used to use RftDD in my xyz dragon cannon turbo deck way back in the day along with dimension fusion and soul release, RftDD was insanely underrated, it was actually surprising how long it took konami to ban it

Nice video. An idea for a possible video is to create a list about cards with some sort of ban potential or hidden treasure, l mean cards that have good effects but doesn't see much of play but can used in interesting way. What do you think?

floodgates should be continuous spells with the extravagance clause, as in you must activate in the start of your main phase 1, so you can only play 1 per turn and must play under it

Royal Oppression can be fixed, by only being able to activate the card on your own turn, while you control no monsters. Then, make it so both players can only use its effect once per turn each.

Sixth sense isn't once per turn, like at all. I get why it doesn't due to it's original ocg printing not coming to the tcg later, but once per turns existed at that point, so they could've added a once per turn clause which still would be broken as one is kind of all needed.

How to errata these cards to take them off the ban-list. 1) Make the downside banish the cards face-down instead of sending them to the GY, and delay the upside to your next end phase while changing how much you draw to till you have X many cards in your hand instead of drawing X number of cards. 2) Maybe the downside should be to banish your entire field (face-down) instead of just the summoned monsters. That way even when using the summoned monsters as material won't allow you to ditch the downside of this card and if you fail to OTK, your field will be wide open for an enemy attack. 3) I was thinking to give this card either a hard or soft once per turn as well. 4) I like what you suggested here.... we'll just go with that. 5/6) Hmm, cut the damage from the burn one in half, and make it so it banished the spells in the GY as a cost, and either increase what the LP difference should be for the second one to activate, or increase what it makes your LP equal to... or both.

Six sense is just pure plus so it's kinda hard to balance it. I think the best way is limit the "plus" get from the effect, like limit from 1-6 to 1 to 3, and add restriction like cannot activate cards effect for the rest of this turn.

1. Can you do the OCG banned cards? 2. Can you do a duel against a friend online where you only use banned cards? reverse banlist where the limited are semi-limited & vice-versa? 3. Can you do a video on custom erratas? like custom cards, but errataing pre-existing cards, like making Uria Divine Attribute Divine Beast? 4. Can you do a video on custom Divine Attribute cards? ex. Olympus Trio(XYZ-3 level 10s), Trimutri(Ritual-3 monsters that add up to at least level 10), Sanxing(Link 8- exactly 3 monsters) 5. Can you cover the bandai cards & game?

i kinda like gambles cards, i think the extra factor is a lot of fun and can make it more intense and fun. Your own cards could win you the game or lose it right then and there

Ultimate offerings combo, best in my opinion, is as followed, have ultimate offerings on tne board, and a mysterious puppeteer on the board too. With black Petra and cannon solider in hand, use ultimate offerings to summon cannon solider you lose 500 but gain 500 thx to the puppeteer. Repeat for black Petra then use cannon solider to sac the Petra causing 500 to the opponent and black Petra to return to your hand. I used to love this combo, once the banned ultimate offerings I stopped as the first deck I created without looking at the internet got damaged.

Yeah after find out about gun dragons tried to do a gamble deck, tour of doom, dangerous machine 6, sand gambler. But quickly realized it was more of gamble lol, slowly turning to machine centric. I don’t think I can’t give up my chaos emperors dragon, I traded cards wish I kept like Amazoness queen, black tyranno. Man back in the day opening a card pack and seeing that gold super shiney cards was the best.

How to nerf Royal Oppression: "This card is unaffected by card effects from cards controlled by its owner. This face-up card cannot be removed from the field by its owner."

What would happen to the game if the terms "special summon" and "normal summon" would be reversed to reflect the actual state of the game, but not changing anything else. So a card that says "special summon" would refer to the act of playing a card from your hand onto the field once per turn, while "normal summon" would be a summon that has no limitations per turn

I think we can fix sixth sense: erreta make the second effect to be your opponent draws the number of cards if called wrong. We already have that draw 2 coin toss card and it’s balanced by you might give your opponent the draws. You being able to draw more is balanced by your opponent having better odds of winning the ability to draw.

There's a lot of forbidden trap card but I rarely use them even in mock battle against cpu, I'll try card on this list sometime,

I thought there was something weird about Sixth Sense being released in 2013, so I did some research. It was in the games as early as 2006, but was not a physical card until 2013. Alternate effect idea: it could make it so that you choose one, draw half that many rounded up, and banish the full count facedown for being wrong. "...when we only had synchro and xyz monsters." I played when it was called a Fusion Deck, which seems to be a monster type that is forgotten or ignored. The early ones were as useful as level 5 vanilla monsters, but getting, say, Flame Swordsman on turn 1 was a big deal back then. And though the archetype was a gimmick then, Heroes made you remember it before level math was a necessity. "It can lock you out of the extra deck." So another card that lets Monarchs go brrr, assuming they become good enough to matter again. Royal Oppression seems to be banned for the same reason as Vanity's Emptiness, the latter of which should have been banned a long time before it was.

Idk why but i always liked chicken games artwork. Just the fact the car is going to drive off the cliff and you just get a really close up shot of the monster driving it sweating. I wonder if it's meant to be the person who has the card in their deck since the chance of it getting destroyed (atleast whenever i used it in the games) is pretty likely

I have a gamble deck that I built a while ago, it’s nothing short of a meme with the only cards that really hurt the opponent (potentially) is “Time Wizard” and a “That Six” combo with “Dice Jar”. I specifically built it just have a deck that had a straight 50% chance for victory, because why not lol

maybe sixth sense: if you call correctly reveal that many cards from the top of your deck and either: - add 1 card to your hand - special summon 1 of the monster cards - activate 1 of the spell/trap cards shuffle the rest back to your deck. if you call wrong: - shuffle back card(s) from your field and/or hand to your deck so that the remaining number of cards on you field and hand is less or equal to the rolled number

My idea for "Royal Oppression" is, that you can only activate this card, during youu Standby Phase.

To add to sixth sense put a cap on the max number you can draw can’t draw for the next too phases or if you guess incorrectly pay lp equal to the result x100

My idea for sixth sense: (to make it kinda a gimmick card) You have to wait the number of turns you called out. eg call out 4 and the dice result is 4 - > you are alloed to draw 4 cards 4 turns after you've activated the card. That way even just calling 2 makes more sense, because you'd get the cards earlier.

I actually just realized another combo that may explain why Ultimate Offering is banned. It involves two or more copies of Spring of Rebirth along with either Honest or Dark Honest. The idea is that you have UO and multiple copies of SoR activated, then Normal Summon your monster. You then use the monster's effect to return it to your hand. The copies of SoR activate, giving you 500 LP per copy. You then use UO's effect to re-Summon your monster, starting the loop anew. Assuming your opponent can't do anything about it, you can theoretically get infinite LP this way.

Ultimate offering was a time where special summoning was actually special and rarely happen lol.

final offering did my monarch deck to hand trap deck lol In video game it was “ pay 500 LP to summon 1 extra monster” So in a battle phase is posible un OTK even with full monster in your hand. Gadget deck with cannon soldier or cannon continue spell for 1 OTK with that card.
