while waiting for ranked to come out for these past few years, i've thought it would be really cool if top players did educational "unranked to [top rank]" type content as is popular in other esports games, this is basically that which is super sick!

This reminds me so much of ppmd’s commentary while playing, except this feels less forced and so much more engaging instead of just the deadpan play-by-play ppmd gives in his videos. Going to keep this vid for a bit, lotta good tips in here.
Anyone have the link to the video talking about those high lasers on Marth? I've always thought that the lowest laser is the only laser that you can't (or is the hardest to) powershield. Awesome video! Loving the live commentary as you play :)
I actually really love the idea and think more people should narrate what they're doing more often. My only constructive criticism would be it would be cool if you explained why you're doing stuff, even if it's just one thing every 15-30 seconds. For most of us who play the game, hearing you say 'down air, shine, short hop up air' etc. and simply announcing every move doesn't provide much value since, well, we can see that pretty clearly. The equivalent would be something like in chess where they are just saying what pieces they're moving but not giving us the idea behind it. Anyway, keep it up
by doing JC grab you interrupt your jump squat with grab. But this means it takes longer for your grab to come out. The more frames spent, the less frames you have to react! Hopefully that makes sense.
@@SsbmGinger Thanks. Are there any other times when regular grab is better? I only know about JC-grab whiffing on crouching puff and this new thing you just explained.
my elo will be high enough to start getting other high level players very very soon! An important part of the series is showing new players how to exploit other new players though!
The goal of the series honestly isn’t to impress anyone. I’ve actually already gotten rank 1 LOL I just want to educate people and help them think more like a high level player
