The year 2020 has many of us asking, “is the office obsolete?” Well, it turns out it’s not the first time we’ve thought about it. In this video, CBC columnist Uytae Lee explores the history of remote work and how offices have stayed relevant throughout the years.

You ask such good questions! Really! Thank you for writing and creating such thought provoking, timely content. I could see the videos ending coming a ways out - nicely done. You’re editing, and presentation is potent. I look forward to seeing what you publish next here. Subscribed.

no reason for open concept offices. i stumbled across an office with a tech consultancy of a team of like 5, maybe 6, and they all had private offices with stations where they could meet with clients to troubleshoot issues as needed. they always had the ability to return to their offices, though, and it wasn't even a huge headquarters yet they still fit everything in there, including the stations and a conference room. people should refuse open concept offices because it's detrimental to productivity and there is proof that you can use windows instead of having people cubicled together, breathing down each other's necks
