This is one of the saddest waste of a man’s life I’ve ever seen. Someone has to be in charge of the will or an executor of the estate. Demolishing all that is such a waste. So sad.
Karen, put your fingertips where your mouth is, you come up with the $ to save this dilapidated Mansion, I bet that you can’t? It’s called “progress” !
Newly subscribed and enjoying this video not like most where they make my head spin 😂 will look forward to watching more of your videos from the Uk while on my lunch break from work 😂
As a fellow vintage toy collector, I feel for this guy. It really puts things in perspective, how fleeting life is. I hope those cool items get sold at an estate sale or antique store and not just trashed, some of those things are very rare and/or desirable. There's also a lot of salvage here, even for lumber and whatnot, so I hope they make the most of it. At least then it can all amount to something.
Crazy, if only that house could be saved. I love the high ceilings. Mad respect you guys going in these places and not taking anything. Also being fearless from mold and bugs 🫨
Considering everything here is going to be demolished and brought to the landfill, I don’t really see the problem with taking something. Our landfills are pretty full. If they have any kind of contact information, they could call and ask permission. That’d be very cool! ❤❤❤
Man such a shame all of those historic toys going to waste like that. I dare to say that the value of all of that stuff could easily pay off the value of that house if someone put the time and effort into selling it all. Really hope the demolition company realizes the value of all of that and doesn’t just throw it in the dumpster
We used those wooden Louisville slugger bats in the late 70's early 80's. They started making metal bats back then too. I hope all those toys are resold and reused.
There is EASILY $15,000 worth of stuff in that mansion. Gamers would pay $150-$300 just for that Panasonic TV, working or not(it can be fixed), that SEALED Terminator doll is obviously a $500 collectable. I used to collect and have since sold-off my collection very recently.
Gamers would not pay anything for that old late 90’s early 2000’s tube TV. Tube TV’s were horrible. I mean I guess if you wanted to play an Atari or NES on it.
My brother in law’s brother had or maybe still has a mansion in Barrington Hills. He tried selling back in 2011. My brother-in-law was maintaining the house after his brother moved to Raleigh North Carolina. He would take care of the grounds and the inside in case someone came to look at it to buy. It was 20,000 ft.². It would take him seven hours to vacuum. My brother in law died in 2012 and my sister in 2020. So I don’t know what ever happened to his brothers house.
This is just hard wrenching! There is so much they could use from this house to help others in need. The toys could go to help children in need etc.. Just a darn shame it brings tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing❤
This looks like one of the Dispensa family. They owned the old Dispensa Castle of Toys & Dispensa Kiddie Kingdom (a children's amusement park in Oakbrook Terrace) and lived in the area. They were friends of my parents. I remember attending a cookout at their Aero Estates residence in Naperville. (One of their residences)
Funny you are worried about hot wheels when there are much more expensive things sitting all around you. The life size Spiderman is probably worth a small fortune! A lot of good stuff in the home!
This truly breaks my heart!! This man who has now obviously passed on, needs to have his legacy honored!! Is there not one family member that cares to gather his wonderful possessions that he spent his whole life upon collecting?!! Someone needs to take the time to investigate who owned this home and make serious arrangements to transfer everything over to a new owner who can enjoy it!!! I hope that someone that sees this video will help and do the right thing!! I'm sure that this man's soul is restless, and he can't move on into resting in peace until a kind person will rescue his legacy!! Sad that it is all being left behind because we all know that it will soon be destroyed!!! THIS IS SO SAD!!!
He may be a reseller on Ebay or other auctions. So sad to see those places, people's dreams. Yup, material things are nothing if there is no health. My ex husband office is still in Barrington and I used to live very close.
The owner of the Property or any of his/her immediate family member or relative has to file a claim regarding the whole property and all of its possession, since the state cannot assume quickly, considering that it was paid, with taxes, necessary for the OWNERSHIP of the land and property. States law regarding real estate and property taxes, be it paid, in full or not, it is REGISTERED at the National Registry of each state. ****IMPORTANT*****
You can tell this was grandads house because of the swing set in the backyard and the bed downstairs in what looks to be an office or a library but not an actual bedroom because there is no closet or en suite, he (or she) probably wasn’t able to go upstairs to the primary bedroom anymore, he was clearly a successful businessman as you can tell by the premium early 1990s finishes throughout, he probably built this house in his 50s but when he passed away in his 80s or so and the house was left to his kids, maybe he had one just one child, and they tried to refresh it and sell it but depending on the market or where it’s located, or possible back taxes, it didn’t sell and they weren’t able to keep up with the mortgage payments or property taxes, eventually it got forclosed on and repossessed by the bank and sometimes it’s just too hard of a struggle emotionally for family members to deal with financial problems, or loss and mortality which is why the huge project of sorting through those toys in the garage never happened, it’s a shame but it’s hard to go through your parents stuff when they’re gone, and sometimes people just want to move on, and when the bank took repossession they’re not thinking on a personal level and organising an auction for old toys, and when they were not able to sell the property it was scheduled for demolition to prevent crime and vandalism, or maybe someone else wanted the land to build their own dream home, and the circle of life continues..it shouldn’t be sad, it should give you perspective on what really matters, but someone should come up with a plan to rescue those toys because no one else will and it would pay honour to the man who cared enough to collect them and I bet he wouldn’t mind at all that you guys documented his legacy with this walkthrough..really interesting thanks for sharing
Amazing manison So full of toys and collectors items Beautiful home to What a shame to demolished it Thank you for sharing the video See you in the next video
So that's where I dropped my phone!!! 🙄 Silly me (😂) It’s sad to see such property left abandoned especially with a smorgasbord of kick-butt collectables. Perhaps there is someone you can contact regarding keeping or purchasing some of the items left inside? As tempting as it is, I’d advise not taking anything especially if it comes from any place that gives you the creeps. You never know what energies are attached 😳 Kudos for trying to locate the iphone owner 🙌 Thanks for sharing this little abandoned gem🙏
So the demolition company pays for the contents of the house and the right to demolish the house? He said the contents belong to the demolition company. Sounds like a good business to get into!!!
So creepy, freakyb and fascinating. Would love to get to check this place out and especially all those vintage toys etc. I had one of those Fisher Price boats when I was a kid back in the 70's.
Save what you can. Sad watching this and knowing that stuff will be destroyed. Who ever bought the stuff had real love for saving it. I'm sure he would be happy if someone else saved it from a dumpster. I know you guys just film. But I'd save what I can in his memory. So much stuff it's unreal 😮
Leave the refrigerator and freezer door open so they don.t grew mold inside .Close it and it will grew mold keep there air and light to get in circulating because it's not running open.
This house looks like it could have so much potential and I love the floor plan, a little update to it’s amenities repainting and flooring this house could’ve been a one of a kind… shame
All these poor, sad lives. Rich, miserable people, failing to fill their emptiness. These abandoned mansions are pathetic cries for spiritual help. The dead gods of a failed faith.
You said it! These people lacked the spirit of YHWH and were trying to fill that void with useless crap that other people who lack the spirit of YHWH desire
What a lovely home how could it get demolished it's mad every thing is left behind so great items in there loads left behind can't get my head round it it's so sad the owners must have been well off with money I would love to own that great video and great explorers 😅
I myself think that it’s beautiful. I wish I could live in something like that. Well God bless thank you for showing. Unfortunately, I wish that it wasn’t going to be a tear down.
They left the fridge and freezer open to keep it from getting moldy. It's sad that no one wants to fix up the house. Did he not have any family to maybe start selling some of the toys.
I appreciate you going here allowing this place to be immortalized even years after destruction so that we all can see what once was before being nothing but rubble we are enabled the ability view something physically impossible to see in the future. So props to you for doing it and all abandoned area explorers alike.
Younger people crack me up while exploring, did not know what an intercom was 😂thought it was a thermostat, FYI a lot of vintage toys do not have computers in them, just throwing that out there.
Just heartbreaking. In a case like this please save those treasures. I know the etiquette is only leave 👣👣 but in this case couldn't you arrange a salvage if no one claims these items? Kindest thoughts to you and your Subscribers, families and Furbabies from Australia 😢
10:19 the barbie dolls are so valuable, if they are from the 80s or prior, I really hope they are saved. Perhaps this poor Soul didn't have a "childhood" so he/she collected these Amazing toys. Remember everything you gather in life, you can't take with you when you go Home/Heaven. But I'm sure they would have wanted these passed onto someone who would love them like they did. So sad 😢
I'm wondering if this owner was more than just a collector, but more of a vintage dealer. Sometimes people have a lot of stuff with the intent of wheeling and dealing. When you mentioned some kind of sale, you could possibly have been right for all we know, but we don't know. Having that many toys for someone who's not a dealer would be a bit much. Vintage toys may be nice, but I don't think you should have every single one imaginable since it would take up way too much space. Instead, have all the things you need to make a house a home, and just have a select few things from the Vintage era, especially stuff that meant the most to you that has a story behind it. I personally would take a room and have a few horse rides in it and maybe a wide open space for an actual working carousel that I helped design. I'd also have an inground pool and trampoline. The outdoor pool should have some kind of open-close gazebo. Plus, it would probably be good if it was also a Jacuzzi Regarding all of those toys that would be in the dump when the Mansion is demolished, it would be better to take those toys to a children's hospital and give them to the sick kids. I remember back in the 90s around Christmas time when someone even made a gingerbread tower that was also taken to a children's hospital and given to all the sick kids. Giving those toys to all the sick kids at a children's hospital would be far better than letting them go to a dump. Perhaps even restoring the mansion and turning it into a recovery place away from the hospital would be far better than wasting it. Not only would it save on medical bills, but it would be a great morale booster for patients of any age to come here free of charge to recover. Another idea is to turn this into a children's Recovery Place away from the hospital and set up all those vintage toys for them to play with during their recovery. I'll bet some of those cancer patients would really love something like that. They should also have an adult play area because we all need some level of play time to boost our morale, especially if we're recovering from something. When I see this mansion, I see possible potential, especially where the pool is involved for physical therapy
Man that Chem lab 5 set is worth some big money. They actually band those sets cause they had like three ingredients in it. That made them dangerous. Like create a bomb or mustard gas. Look them up. The story behind those sets are pretty cool.
It breaks my heart to see that stuff sit there. 💔 this house is gorgeous. Im sure he had to have a family or friend. He could have given it to someone instead of leaving it
It could be a cool house, it has much more potential. However, honestly for Barrington Hills this house looks like the builder of $200k homes, not McMansions like this. I live close to Barrington Hills & have worked in many homes there as I do private home health care. This fixtures, the doors, the trim, the handles, ugh.... Everything looks like cheep cheep & tacky. So you were right when you made a comment about not being too fond of the toilets & such. Great video! Really enjoyed it as it's in my backyard! Very cool. Thanks! ❤
Are they going to salvage the usable things? Like the old sink in the bathroom or the furniture. They should take this stuff and sell it and let it go to some charity😢
That place doesn't look very old, maybe 20 years. Sucks they are going to demolish it than restore it to sell it. I hope the company sold all that stuff than putting it into a dump.
I really hate the fact that they abandoned them and then tear them down somebody that can’t afford a nice place. Would love to live in that place and make it their own. It’s so sad.
No reason to demolish the house. I was waiting to see how the ceilings were when you went upstairs and they looked ok. WIth all that land, there has to be someone out there that can clean this up and sell it.
Farout I live in New Zealand & if that house was here there would be nothing of value left in it,..even the taps over the kitchen sink would be gone...maybe even the water from the taps if it was chlorine free LOL 😂
That is one beautiful property, how sad it’s being demolished that should be a crime, to destroy such a beautiful house with some incredible items a lot of history just being thrown away, very very sad 😞
Watched a demo video before,it goes to the highest bidder, and everything in the house will belong to them... Make a deal with the demo guys to buy these vintage toys🧸
