Let it be remembered that while the GOC may have its flaws, when Humanities darkest hour came and its most ardent defenders became its gravest threat, the GOC stood strong. They fought for humanity to the bitter end, and they died standing.
They did, but they were not smart or strong enough to stop the hurricane known as the foundation. This entry is a proof that when the demons of the foundation are out of the pit, no one is strong enough to stop them except the Insurgency. Who are ubfortunatley not mentioned at all.
One of the reasons why the Foundation wasn't able to get into Ganzir right away aside from the force field was because the GOC had SCP-076-2(Able, as in the Biblical Able) on their side. Able is incredibly violent, possesses extreme durability, can summon bladed weapons, and when killed, can reform inside of an indestructible coffin.
@@tylerfuller-battles8370 If I remember it was mention by the captured scp soldier that was interrogated (Ross) in the end of his speech before telling the others about IT I actually missed it numerous times
The '50 things dr bright is not allowed to do' was actually written as a joke so you could actually watch it as long as you've seen 963. But since there is no canon you can definitely choose to believe Dr bright is just insane.
But he still needs a lot of fkin context regarding that list. That list references a lot of SCPs he doesn't know about yet. Many of the jokes will fly over his head if he checks it out now.
TL;DR SCP-5000, or IT is something so terrifying that if allowed to develop, it would cause something worse than even the Scarlet King. The Foundation discovers this and the fact that EMPATHY IS NOT A NATURAL HUMAN EMOTION, neither is physical pain, they are IT's defense mechanisms. As a result, Foundations goes from 0 to Holocaust in less than 3 seconds. And the real kicker to this whole story? The dude in the suit, by jumping in the whole, just resets the whole universe...IT lives...The Foundation lost. EDIT: SCPDeclassified is fun.
What I don't get is, even if there is an IT, why does that need to be wiped out? To me it has always seemed like the IT is essentially the human soul, why would the Foundation think it needs to be destroyed? It sounds like the Church Of The Broken God's creation story: Humans were created as beasts, but Mekhane gave them something that made them more. While this Foundation is still intelligent, they are definitely acting beastlike.
@@jasmidnurmi9857 Because they discovered that he is going/or is doing a horrible, terrible, unimaginable thing to humans The.simplest example is the scp-2718 Theory
@@jasmidnurmi9857 Because IT essentially has a hold over all human consciousness, we're basically enslaved to it, it likely feeds off of our pain, suffering etc, basically if you're a warhammer fan imagine if Slaanesh existed in the collective human subconscious and was feeding on our pain like she did with the Eldar
@@thatlonewolfguy2878 I have never played Warhammer, so I don't know Slaanesh. But even if there was a parasite living off of humanity's pain, if the only other options are to wipe out every human being, or live with the parasite, how is not existing at all better than living with what people have always considered as a part of life? It would be completely different if the foundation could just free the people from the entity. Why not just distribute the files they used to free the Foundation employees to every human on the planet?
@@jasmidnurmi9857That would have turned humanity into a race of soul-less beings, creativity and innovation would stop dead in its tracks, we would be stuck forever the way we are now, we would just stagnate and die out as a species, overall it would be better for humanity to be wiped out to deny the parasite's hold over us as a species, neither option is a good one
I personally prefer SCP ILLUSTRATED's compiled video about 5000 because I thought the voice acting & drawings were pretty good. ("Compiled" because he made 3 separate videos about it. 3rd one was an explanation.) But I think it was better for you to watch The Exploring Series' video about 5000 because he does explain a lot of the SCPs in it that you don't know about yet, while SCP ILLUSTRATED just reads the article like TheVolgun does. The dead boy with the laughing worms seems like a reference to SCP-2030 LA U GH IS F UN. You can check that out if you want, from TheVolgun preferably. hehe
'Some may question your right to destroy ten billion people. But those who understand realise that you have no right to let them live.' -In Exterminatus Extremis
In other words not using things like holy spirit. They found SOMETHING attached to humanities Psyche. That SOMETHING is responsible for our ability to feel pain and most emotions. That SOMETHING was bad enough, in the foundations opinion, that killing humanity would be a preferable mercy to letting IT continue to influence us.
The brilliant fellow who wrote scp 5000, tanhony, does the “Discovering SCP” Podcast. I adore it. But anyways, that smug son-of-a-gun has refused to confirm or deny anything about the explanation for 5000, though he assures us that an explanation does indeed exist. I am haunted by the notion that we have yet to figure out the correct answer.
I'm glad you're sticking to the exploring series because it is the only channel that doesn't read everything verbatim while keeping the "spirit" of the subject in question
@@chrissbim3356 That's because The Exploring Series mainly summarizes things so of course, some things will get left out. That's also a way to encourage people to check out the SCP themselves if they want to know the details he left out.
In my honest opinion, this is maybe referencing to people becoming enlightened to the fact that the entire cosmic construct is a creation where all are trapped within. Hence Demiurge and Gnosticism.
As much as I love 5000 I prefer the other version of this video where we hear from peatro instead of a narrator like this, that video gets rather emotional with the va
I would like to point out that scp-5000 made Bright hopeless... the most batsht insane character in the lore, who does things because they think it would be funny or just for the shits and giggles, feel hopeless to the point he resigns himself to peace out and go to a new reality. Huh? Like, i can appreciate the dedication to learning more but.. you made the silliest man in the world go **insert "fck this sht, im out" meme here.** WTF?!
Oh, let's see: 447, the Happy Fun Ball of Slime; SCP-137, the horrifying neck-snapping Statue (don't blink); let's continue~ Oh, The Builder Bear. That's a good one. Imagine A Build-a-Bear. Now imagine it can self replicate, make copies of itself out of stuff like, oh, I don't know, *KNIVES* Yeah, like ArchMagos 'Fuck Your Shit' from SWv40k. Wait... Titan-Bear? Oh Neuo... Oooh. Oh no. I think I'm starting to get what happened to the Foundation. (1440-ish) Ah, SCP-55, the Object that Refuses to be Classified. That explains 579. Yeah, 682 isn't 'practically', it is completely indestructible. Totally, completely, stupidly indestructible. Welcome to the SCP Universe. There are literally hundreds of ways to destroy the world. They are really, REALLY going easy on the planet in this one so far. Ah, yeah. That's a good combo. Still kind of basic for the Foundation, they could have done way worse with their stuff. Not even a 'very fine'? I can think of a couple of ways that they could have made this absurdly worse. Seriously, not even letting 087 out to play or letting the Infinicake go on it's merry way? For shame. The Black Hole inna Can is sitting sad and lonely, too.
Yeah, that's the only gripe I have with this video, he fumbles the conclusion. There is a far more convincing and concrete explanation that ties everything together, including the radio part and why the protagonist felt 'compelled' to do all this.
I've read SCP-5000 a lot, but I just realized, has Pietro ever thought about his family at all during SCP-5000?? I know the SCP Foundation fucked Earth- but Pietro's family! Bro didn't think one thought about them. 💀
Given what little we heard about his father (kicking a cat to death because it knocked over his plants), I got the impression that if he *does* still have family around, he’s not on great terms with them.
What i don't get is why the foundation didn't just spread the second set of pictures around the internet etc. as they did with other scps, would have converted most of the population to their "new" cause and the rest would just have been a mop up action and they would have been done in like a few days?
Well, the Foundation was being clearly suboptimal for some reason. There are multiple SCPs that can end the world if not contained, rather than killing humanity themselves all the Foundation would have to do to destroy humanity is to simply stop containing them.
This is old but to explain cure isnt perfect example being one of the mtf still had the parasite even though he dıd see the pictures,so it still lives inside them but cannot influnce them for some time
Hey btw, don't watch anything from the channel SCP Explained. If you're gonna watch from an SCP animation channel, Dr. Bob is the best one out there even if the animation seems a little cheap.
