Soft tissue requires a rapid deposit of sediment to cover it in order for it to be preserved so well. Things like an octopus or jellyfish being fossilized seems ridiculous, if it were to have to wait to be covered by sediment over a long period of time. These things usually just disintegrate in water after dying, or are eaten by scavengers and broken down by microbes very quickly. It might also indicate that the sediment/water was very hot, killing any microbes that might have been buried with them.

Hi Vlad. WOW these are amazing images. Death has yielded beauty of form and color and given new life to the history we search through. A beautiful canvas upon which God, our Master creator, has graciously shared His heart, soul and mind. All beauty is reflected through the eyes of God and you can see it in your presentation. Thanks so much for the hard work it took to bring these incredible images to us. Just wonderful!!

This is some really nice imagery, it's a shame the comments are littered with religious remarks and overtones. Why is it so hard for some people to accept the natural processes of the universe? You don't get to live forever, but it makes for an infinitely more interesting universe.

Vlad, As usual, I enjoyed your presentation today. The Petrified Forest brought back memories to me. When I was a young professor, in 1981, I took my students to a convention/conference at the University of Arizona during Spring Break. We took a few days before the conference and went to the Grand Canyon and also stopped for a hike around the Petrified Forest. It was amazing, but one of the most amazing things was that the Anasazi used the Petrified Forest logs to build shelters for overnight use as they walked to small farming plots along drainage basins because farm land with water did not exist in large amounts, forcing them to have plots extremely far apart. The remains of the shelters were stunning with the colors and light refraction throughout the translucent logs, and I could only imagine what it must have been like to see and spend the night in one of them. Thanks for jarring my memory. The old professor

The mountain on the cover, with the water line, reminds me of Lake Mead. Where the beach is now, it takes 26 minutes to walk where the beach was when I was a teenager. The brown tips of the mountains at Boulder Beach are the islands we used to swim out to. Can you imagine what it looked like when the water was there? I've always wondered what turned the oceans and lakes into land and the land into oceans and lakes, but watching Lake Mead shrink over the short period of 15 years was an eye-opener. I got to see how quickly water and land can change. The octopuses looked like they were still in motion when they were caught in the mud. Probably "Pooling" but they didn't rot. They are perfect. I can see how plants get petrified, but the octopuses are blowing my mind. It had to be Sea water, because of the white salt coming out of the mountains. The standing petrified trees look like they have been gnawed on by giant Beavers and a lumberjack chopped some down. Cool and Amazing! I enjoy your videos. Always something new and exciting. I can't believe I didn't find you sooner.

It is still possible to discover a previously unknown crinoid in Indiana. Many types of plant, coral, and brachiopod abound as well proving Indiana to have once been a shallow sea. In the Southern part of the state are many quarries where limestone is mined... Bedford is known for highest quality limestone used in Washington D.C. for monuments and in New York for skyscrapers.

This is interesting, although some creationists may disagree, but this is proof that there were major catastrophies through eons and the bible only scratches the surface of this. Who knows, maybe most of our human history was completely erased by one single event and the people who survived tried to keep the stories alive as far as they could remember at the time and explain those events in best way they could. As for the Earth being 6000 years old, where's is that written in the Bible? Nowhere.
