If plants r close together the wind will pollinate for you. Just put some corn in and first little stalk bout an inch growing. Feels so good to grow food it's been years since I've had my own garden back in Memphis. Just on a verandah I'm growing in pots and buckets and will soon put some potatoes and sweet potato in. Already have some fruit on my tomatoes. Few weeks ago bought a grape vine for my trellised verandah. I live on Sunshine coast Queensland so am going to try crops all year round. I watched a video on aeroponics growing potatoes and will use a drip method of watering with diluted sea water and at six weeks will pick new potatoes and here it will be a continual harvest with our weather. I'm growing tomatoes apple cucumber and grape in sea sand and some plants mix of soil n sea sand. Except someone has destroyed some plants. Rather disheartening I live in a high crime area. We have army militia trying to clean up the streets here. Every night shootings rape n murder. Nothing much on the news. I stay inside at night. We are also having small tsunamis flooding homes and drownings near beaches. I live on a small hill. Australia is in chaos. None of this is on news overseas except on CNN I'm told. @@DIYGardenIdeas Thank you ! I expected an angry response ! It's just that , years ago, I saw on T.V., that corn likes to grow in a close group, so the pollen gets transferred better by the breeze. The cobs in the video did look very healthy though, so if that method suits someone, fair enough. Saves stooping, I suppose ! Actually, I have saved big water bottles for years, they make good pots for many plants. I used to cut the tops off (the cap end, to make a little"greenhouse" to pretect the plantsin cold weather. This is also good for helping root cuttings, or germinating seeds. Also, if you tuck the edges of the top bit inside the pot, any rain will run down the "greenhouse " top, into the soil... Will look at your channel more...looks good ! Best Wishes from England. xx
