Eye Glasses Lens anti reflective coating comparison Zeiss, hoya, warby parker, asahi
I give my thoughts on eye glass lenses since there isn't much info online that summarizes everything in one place and it's hard to determine who is being paid by the manufacture to push their product.
Summary (glasses from top to bottom in video):
Warby Parker: frames are fashionable but don't seem very durable since the plastic structure seems less substantial compared to other brands. You aren't going to want to fall asleep in these and accidently roll over and fall asleep as the frames will warp or hinges will break over time . Good value price though if cost is highest priority. Lenses gave worse anti reflective properties compared to other brands I've tried. They scratch more easily, have the worse anti water, anti oil properties compared to premium anti reflective offerings. These reflected the strongest darker green out of the green reflective coatings. From the light source I was testing, one lens reflected pink and the other green.
Lens rating: 6/10
Ray Ban: A step up in quality for frames compared to Warby Parker, except for aviators which are typically very fragile. Generally hinges and plastics are good. You aren't going to want to fall asleep in these and accidently roll over and fall asleep as the frames will warp or hinges will break over time ... Less so than warby though.
I had Hoya lens and anti reflective coating installed in these. These reflected a lighter green back in both lenses compared to the warby parkers.

Oakley air drop mnp (amzn.to/3HUe3ns): My favorite manufacturer discovered in last 5 years for prescription frames. This frame is very durable and has high quality plastics. There is no metal in the hinge to bend out of place . If you get a football to the head or roll over while sleeping.... The earpiece is more likely to snap out of it's hinge and than can be snapped back into place . Also the low bridge nose pieces is durable plastic unlike metal ones and won't break or bend out of adjustment. It has several nose pad sizes that can be swapped out for custom fit. I don't believe they make an mnp version of this frame anymore, but have since changed to another nose piece swapping system that they don't advertise.
I had asahi lite lenses and anti reflective coating in this frame as the shop said that these were comparable to Zeiss and essilor top of the line products. It's supposed to have better off axis clarity.. And it does . But where it lacks is dirt repellency compared to other top tier coatings.
Reflects light pink and green for the larger reflection across both lenses. The color strength of reflection is similar to hoyas. The water repellency is good. The dirt repellency is much to be desired.

Sleek, modern frame. I'm not quite expecting the same durability as the Oakley airdrops since I see the temples secured with metal screws. These come with a standard high bridge fit nose piece, but can be swapped out with an after market low bridge fit nose piece.
I got the Zeiss smartlife single vision lenses with duravision platinum AR. After browsing the forums, messaging RU-vid influencers about crizal sapphire vs Zeiss, decided to go with Zeiss since the durability is supposed to be better. What's most interesting about this AR is the reflectivity is light blue/white compared to the green/pink of others to give it a more modern look. As of now, I'm giving it a 9/10 and will update comment if I discover any other negatives. So far, impressed with this premium offering.
