It’s interesting to note that the bird that Ezra drew on top of her car was not a “black shrike” as she would go on to label it, but was actually a common snipe. While a snipe is a skittish, omnivorous water bird, a shrike is a short-billed, carnivorous songbird that is well known and specifically regarded for its habit of impaling prey upon the thorns before disemboweling and consuming it. The great grey shrike even goes so far as to sing the song of another songbird in order to lure it into an unexpected ambush and grisly demise. The irony is palpable.
Just had the misfortune of looking up a grey shrike…that’s crazy that they literally impale rodents on branches…I’ve never seen a bird like that before. I didn’t even know singsong birds could be carnivorous.
It is so notable that when those just awful awful photos are shown, with that poor young man's body hanging out of the car, Ezra has zero reaction. She sits there, doodles, her breathing rate doesn't change. No concern, no shame, no interest. Nothing.
Ezra had a visible reaction to the photo of dead Alex, when it first appeared, during opening statements. Ezra looked away, breathing quickened, and then hung her head, until photo was removed.
In the previous video, when her attorney brought up the placement of the camera, Ezra stares into the camera to make a point. Her gaze is direct and unflinching. It is worth noting that, generally, she does not look at the camera. She is clearly playing to the camera.
No empathy at all. Absolutely no emotion at all. True psychopath imo. She blamed him for taking her boyfriend from her when it was her mental games she played with him that drove him away. He's lucky it wasn't him. I don't believe the things she said about this boy here...liking young boys. She was a mental mess. She already thought she was a boy and identified as one in her high school days. Sad she lired this man out their and killed him.
She also lied about literally everything, even things that really didn't matter. I don't believe anything she said because of everything she was proven to be lying about. I find it so bizarre when people lie about inconsequential things, especially things that can be proven so easily. I believe she's a psychopath too.

I saw dreading’s series on this case. I’m glad he referenced this channel. It shows the amount of evidence the jury has to consider and gives clarity to the decision.
I watched Ezra’s story From Dreading crime and psychology and they never pointed out specifically how the evidence contradicted Ezra’s story. Seeing the car stuck in the mud with foot prints only on the driver side of the car is absolutely ridiculous given that Ezra said that she was looking all over for something to use for traction to get out of the mud, but the evidence shows that there wasn’t any attempt to get the car out of the mud. I’ve been stuck in a car (normally in snow) probably 30-40 times and I know what it takes to get a car out of mud/snow and there is no indication that anybody tried to get that car out by any manner. Honestly, I don’t even believe that it’s stuck. I think she lied about the whole car getting stuck thing. I think she lured him out of town, began coming onto him and then murdered him. I think she planned the whole thing out and that she knew what she was going to do since she got out of bed that morning.
It seems she tried to drag him out of the car but he was too heavy so she abandoned that plan Rules for life: Don’t take another’s! But if you decide you’re going to, follow the rules below Rule 6: Don’t leave any written proof of your disdain for the victim Rule 5: If the police have been called on you and the victim, choose a different day or abandon the plan all together Rule 4: Get a lawyer and never speak to police without them Rule 3: Don’t let others know you’re going to be with the victim Rule 2: Don’t have any digital proof that you were going to be with the victim Rule 1: and most importantly…Don’t take a life in your own home, car or place of employment. I think she was going to try and pretend she was roofied or something, but the farmer insisted on calling police and getting medical exam threw a wrench in her plans, so the fake amnesia thing she had to go with.
They did everything they could to make her appear timid and small, which she absolutely destroyed by her own testimony. She really showed her true colors during cross examination.
It is wild how much effort she exerted to make him purportedly calling her 'boy' seem pejorative because it didn't match her current self-identification. She stabbed him 16 times and slit his throat after luring him into a remote area and before stealing his phone so he couldn't call 911. But she's the victim.

This crime scene mapping is amazing! They should always use something like this for all crime scenes. It gives you so much more of a path for the story.
The defence attorney has no choice but to concentrate on irrelevancies. He knows that his entire case is based on fantasy. Ezra is a very pretty, attractive girl. It is easy to see how she lead three men around by their 'tails'. It also makes her obvious cold hard-heartedness even more chilling.
Maybe attractiveness is subjective BUT I disagree. I think she was throwing it around. Like a dog to a bone a man will bite whatever is easiest to get to.
I agree. The nonsense arguments the defense attempted were irrelevant and would've made no difference if they hadn't said anything at all. The mental gymnastics and just absolute mess Ezra made of her live and the lives of those involved was sad. She caused everything that happened and blamed everyone else while expecting those she blamed to bail her out. It's just crazy.
Funny how we all see being attractive so different. Ezra to me is extremely unattractive and I wonder what these men saw in her other then she was a easy woman. However I will give her she looked okay during some of her court days but that was because she was wearing a face full of makeup.

She is gong to be an interesting inmate. There is something about being surrounded by liars that makes your own lies sound more real. The sooner you realize this, the sooner you can recover but then, all you have left is the rest of your life behind bars to realize you cannot do anything about it.
She'll create another persona to get by in that environment - most likely the vulnerable soft artistic victim... She'll make sure she gets the biggest toughest woman prison partner to look after her but she'll also set that person on other prisoners for the fun of it. Ezra needs to control everyone and create chaos while she looks angelic - it keeps them all unbalanced.

She blamed the murder victim (Alex) of sexual assault and another friend (John) of sexual assault as well. They were both friends of her ex boyfriend (who testified in this trial). Both of her accusations were found to be false according to info that came out in this trial.
No. The man she slept with is John Hanson (also friends with Jason Mengel and Alex Woodworth), and when Jason confronted Ezra, she claimed it was a sexual assault. One of the reasons Ezra so was so angry with Alex is that he would not tell the police that her relationship with John Hansom was an assault. Ezra told Alex about her hook ups with John and said it WAS consensual and that is what he told the police and Jason. The text messages also showed the police that the "hook up" was consensual, so they dropped the investigation into John Hanson. She had no problem sending an innocent man to prison in order for her lie to not be challenged by Jason Mengel.
The scene reconstruction documentation in my mind is severely lacking. I’d be embarrassed to submit such a lame presentation. A tiny bit of work in an imaging editor could have brought out a shit- ton more detail. It was always either too much light , or not enough. To me It made me feel like they just didn’t give a damn. Where are the big portable scene lights ? The gps measurement tool worked pretty well. But as far as the visual part goes, an off the shelf 360* action cam would have been better. Any half - assed amateur photographer/videoographer could have documented circles around that department. Alex deserved more. At least they could have sat on the scene until daylight, and then have done additional documentation - What’s a few more hours? Invest in a drone. Those foam board renderings, for lack of a better description , quite frankly just sucked. Placing the departments that worked on that part of the investigation and their badges in such a large prominent place on the foamboards just rude.
The defense attorney is doing a decent job considering what he has to deal with (basically no hope). But I absolutely hate the smug smile every now and then after he says something.
