True, but lets be honest, being female, decent looking and young helped. An average dude would not have been able to pull off what she did, even if its was perfectly planned. Female privilege is to be everything that some men are without even getting in trouble or looking bad for it.@@maryfrances1307
I can tell you as an adult education teacher of primarily women ( about 75%), I had a woman like Ezra at least every quarter, lol . So did 2 of my other fellow teachers; of course, on a sliding scale, from attention getting histrionic up to really full blown severe BPD and Narcissism. They were always exhausting and trying to keep them in check (gossip and fights down, sides taken, etc etc) was a job that had to be seen to constantly. I had to seat them near older men for instance (around 50), or people with a language barrier, ie.. away from anyone with whom they'd form a click and spend the class gossiping with and starting trouble. Yes, they love their drama.
Is it just me or is this ENTIRE group of people super lame ??? They dress like try hard hipsters did in 2010 lol and not even the stylish ones like they all look so unoriginal and bland. I know this video is old but still lol these people remind me of the lame band kids in high school who sincerely believed that they were cool because of the fact that they only hung out with other band kids. They were cool in the sense that when they hung out with other nerds they felt cool by comparison but they were actually hella lame to everyone else. Ezra and hrpretentious boyfriends and all these people remind me EXACTLY of these types of people. The unoriginal originals.
Ezra is endlessly unlikable. She created so many messes and then put herself as the victim in each one. Jenna is a badass- I wish she could be a witness in every trial!
@@emerkamp1 if you’re friends with a woman and she tells you all this stuff you would believe her, you wouldn’t think that a friend of yours would lie about stuff like that. It’d be really hard to not say something to a man you thought said those things to your friend especially while out drinking. When finding out a lot of the stuff she said was possibly not true of course you’d feel like shit & not know who to believe & want to remove yourself from the drama…. It’s not like she knew this chick was going to end up killing him.
@@AidaShawJ.D. to be fair, he did not know her age at the start of this. I don't recall when he learned of her age but was not something she gave up. One of the witnesses also mentioned the defendant getting kicked out of a bar because she was not old enough to drink. But Jason should have jumped ship when he found she was not forthcoming with her age. I don't think its fair to conclude Jason targeted her because of his age, she approached him, and manipulated him like she did everyone else she met. Again, just my insight, I don't know any of them personally.
Feel for Jenna - psycopaths are charming, right up untill they are not and your no longer serving their purpose. Thank God for the internet and today we can educate ourselves about the red flags that weed them out. I lost my confidence in my ability to judge people for awhile after encountering such a creature but it has returned with knowledge of how to spot Ezra's. Look at the cold distane behind Ezra's eyes .. brrrrr! Xx
3:37 “Did it become a problem for you?“ “...Eventually I had to get some earplugs" Dude really tried to keep a straight face while replying, he probably spent so many nights hearing them banging
Definitely! She’s a manipulative sociopath! She knew what she was doing but she isn’t as smart as she thought she was! She’s got plenty of time to “find” herself .. she’s lucky she’s not under the prison like she deserves. May Alex, his family and friends find some peace 🙏🏻
What was in the coffee at Racy because those are a strange group of people that somehow found themselves together with the strangest things going on.i like the girl that said it was too much Drama for her.
While I hate that Alex was murdered, the entire group: he. Ezra, Jason and the rest seem to be bloviating pseudo intellectuals with zero common sense between them. Just an absolutely exhausting group of people. Imagine that being the most popular person at a COFFEEHOUSE being an accomplishment. If I had a penny for every time I heard “Racy’s”, I could retire right now. Jesus Christ. 😂
Jenna seems such a straight forward/no-bullshit type of person. I’d believe her perception of the events described more than anyones. Her detailed descriptions of encounters she had with both Ezra and Jason offered great insight into who they were. I hope she’s doing well after all of this, I can’t imagine what all of this was like.
@@dermotosullivan3065 Not her fault, it’s human nature to want to see the best in people. Plus, you don’t always know until it’s too late, that’s the sad thing. Narcissists painstakingly and meticulously work on creating facades and put vast efforts into maintaining them. If you’ve had the pleasure of never dealing with one before with little knowledge on them and the narcissistic cycle of abuse in which they perpetuate on their supplies, it’s very unlikely one would instinctively know what they’re dealing with. These defense attorneys are so patronizing to the witnesses, treating them as hillbillies/beneath themselves and of lower intelligence. They failed to recognize courtesy, patience and politeness for obvious reasons.
I still don't understand why she felt she needed to kill him. It's very senseless... Just a smug, know it all, self absorbed, manipulative, inflated ego living in her own lala land of intellectual superiority.
An “artist” who refused to get a job , took advantage of everyone and manipulated them to her advantage . She was too good to work for a living , too sensitive and wanted everything handed to her .

@@appledarlingI had that same thought bc of how obsessed she was with Jason she knew a baby could possibly be proof of her cheating and so used the " I was only 19 and scared" as the reason but I completely agree with your theory. It's crazy how many lives she ruined and attempted to ( the fake rap3 claim against his other friend that she went after while he was deployed) when they only dated 8 months! Also blows my mind how Jason actually believed her that 2 of his friends went after his girlfriend and her saying she told them both no but that Alex was obsessed with her. She had that twisted she seduced them bc she is a narcissist who thinks she is the star of the room and craves attention. I am happy that Alex did the right thing even though he had feelings for Ezra and told the police the truth that Ezra said John was consensual just that she regretted it...that poor man could have gone to prison for Years bc of her lie and she has zero remorse for that but yet no one's talking about that even though it would help show how bad of a person she is and that she's lying about who Initiated the s3x both times. Jenna is a 👑. she handled herself and that defence attorney like a pro. she also took a picture of her (VERY) well written note and handled that situation again, like a pro. she is goals. i hope she finds peace with her and the community's loss here...RIP ALEX 🍀
@florihauth9232 i think the Defense was trying to blame Jenna, by implication, for the fact that Ezra and Alex had a confrontation they never would have had, had they not met in person, which was what Jenna was encouraging her to do. I guess maybe the lawyer was trying to suggest it was HER advice pushing Ezra to meet Alex and not Ezra who wanted to meet him of her own free choice. Nasty implication to make, to put the blame on Jenna for part of the murder circumstances. Ezra was an adult. Not meant for you, rather, for society- Stop coddling your children everyone!! Look what babies they become. I don't see any disagreement between what the oc says and what you say. Jenna was firm in her testimony, and felt conned by Ezra, AND we all wish her and everyone peace now that Alex's murderer is serving a ver long, deserved sentence.
@@florihauth9232 I'm in somewhat of an agreement with you. I think Jenna was angry that she got wrapped up in the Ezra and Jason drama. There was at least one other witness, Brianna, who explicitly said that.
@@laurasalo6160 Jenna was an asset to the defense, stating how Jason had treated Ezra poorly and was controlling of her, and Ezra was trying to find a way to extract herself from the relationship. "Boundaries".
You know, a man is also entitled to be emotional after an @b@rtion! They keep bringing it up as though it was bad chatacter for Jason to be processing the trauma in the way he did. Was it supportive? No, absolutely not, but had she been the one reacting that way no one would have even question it. Everyone would be 100% understanding if she wasn't ready to resume physical contact after it, or if she took some time to herself to clear her head. Why can't men be granted the same consideration? Just because it is her body, her choice and her unique physical experience that he obviously can't relate to, it does not mean he isn't entitled to his own feelings about how it affects him personally. He supported her by not putting any pressure on her about having or not having it done, he drove her there and paid for it, I don't know what more people expected him to do.
I definitely think men can be ALL of the emotions! Yes. Absolutely 💯. They can't make them alone, & many great men want to be fathers. No one is better off if we say they can't feel something , don't feel it, or shouldn't feel it. 🙌
Very true. Also, she didnt want him with her for the abortion - he may have felt rejected by her at a time he wanted to be supportive, which may have contributed to his coldness.
I love how they tried to soften her look. Curled her hair, had her wear pastels, no piercings, light makeup . Real nice touch. Almost virgin like right ??? Not ! Can’t cover up evil !
Perhaps the reason she told Jason she didn’t want him at the abortion clinic was because she wasnt even pregnant. She may have said she was pregnant to guilt trip him into staying with her and then it backfired.
this is an interesting theory, although I do remember that Jason had confirmed she was actually pregnant at the clinic, and didn’t stay for the procedure. I could be wrong, there is so much going on in this case it’s hard to stay on track lol
@@user-di8hm2jl2u honestly, I don’t understand why any of them stayed either… maybe she was really good at playing victim, looking fragile and small and harmless. maybe it was all the manipulation. I think Jason genuinely loved her, he took care of her, let her stay rent free, even paid for her abortion. I agree, he wasn’t the best partner in the relationship, but no one is perfect. that’s why when Ezra claimed she was going to Alex’s house, Jason had to follow her there to make sure everything was okay. because even though Alex was Jason’s friend, he still cared enough to make his way over to his house and wait for Ezra to come outside. maybe he did it to catch her in a lie, if she never left his house then it would confirm to Jason that she was in fact sleeping with Alex and it WAS consensual. there’s so many questions I have that probably will never be answered, but I know for a fact that Ezra was not a victim in any of this, even when Jason “made fun of her”. she had already lied about rape, I’m sure she would lie about Jason being “an asshole”.
So, basically, Ezra f...ks 'round town, even with his closest friends, and than texts with Jenna 'bout how Jason is the problem in their relationship? How unfair can you be?
@drivanribar Ezra had the abortion on October 6 2017 and she didn't begin a sexual relationship with Alex until November 2017, and I believe her sexual encounters with John Hansen occurred after that. Keep in mind that Ezra said Jason had become distant after the abortion, he was sleeping in the living room and I think he had taken off for California for a two week vacation with a male friend. To Ezra that was a painful rejection just after she had experienced the physical and emotional pain of an abortion. She sought comfort where she could.
When I was young and far from finding the most important person - myself ( although I already was on the way, tho'), I also fucked around. No judging here, just saying how it is, or was. Pardon my bluntness, not sorry. 😁 Sometimes it's just easier to keep things simple. There you have it. Devil is a liar, and poor, poor are they who do not choose to love.
Why put the blame on Ezra? Jason was in his mid-30's and immediately sucked up the 19 year old Ezra into a sexual relationship and within a month she was living in his apartment. And this started the whole mess rolling.
@@musicloverchicago437you are doing the most. Jumping up and down this entire comment section trying to defend a murderer. They were two adults in a relationship. @@palmspirit1833 I don't know what you mean by "defend". I have stated in many of my comments that I believe Ezra did not kill Alex for self-defense reasons and I think she should have been convicted murder, but second degree, not first. Are you put off because I'm seeking to understand the complexity of the situation, because I paid close attention to everyone's testimony and also saw some interesting things in the Wisconsin circuit court records that shed light on Jason's behavior toward Ezra? (I urge you and others to look at those court records.) Ezra is a victim of Jason. He needs to fix his behaviors.
@47:20 😂 Jenna blew up Defense's face to face agenda , he was crushed 😒 but Jenna snuck out "she broke up w him by text 2 days later!" He couldn't ever get that point that Ezra was upright & everyone else a callous beast.
So glad i wasnt at racie's cafe between 2016-2018 😂 Ezra went in there and just ruined the life of every person she met during that time. Ps: it looks like Ezra is trying to BE Jenna. It really freaked me out when the camera panned to Ezra sitting there watching. Ezra's court look is definitely inspired by Jenna.
The hair on the back of her neck stuck up because she realized she was dealing with psychopathy. Whenever we as humans gt that feeling, we have to believe its real.
Yeah I agree - she gives little vibes and signs here and there that make me realize who Tornado Macandless got her nasty personality and need for attention and drama from.
@musicloverchicago437 Respectfully, you’re making too much out of our comments about the case. It sounds like you’re taking it personal. I thought the same thing too when I saw her mother, and I knew it was her mother because she looks just like Ezra. Why would she be smiling like that while her daughter is on trial for murder?!
@@musicloverchicago437 Even though no one has told me the timeline so I can look for it so therefore haven't seen it, I do agree with you. We can't know what she's looking at or smiling (if she is indeed smiling) at, or even thinking. She should not be thought less of for being in the courtroom to support her daughter no matter how abhorrent we find Ezra. Those are normal actions from a parent.
When one of the many men she was manipulating and sleeping with would wise up and leave her. She would show up at their work or make sure to cross paths with them or threaten to un_alive herself. She even got Alex to let her read his very personal journal she used to better manipulate and know how to hurt him. Alex could have physically taken Ezra I think. I almost feel as if she started to stab him and he either loved her or didn’t want to harm her so he didn’t fight back the way he could have.
I'm thinking that being the gentle soul that he was it initially didn't occur to him to try to hurt her in an effort to defend himself, and then by the time the shock of her attack left him it would have been too late for him to overcome her as he would have been too injured hence him desperately trying to get away from her.
Jenna, being an essentially good person, was manipulated horribly by Monica. Eventually she recognised it and her feelings here are clear. She is done with the bs.
When I first watched any videos ok this case I very much believed Ezra I can say that I did buy her victim role but watching it a few years later I can completely see the narcissist in her and she reminds me so much if Jodi arias in how she is trying to play the victim and lying compulsively about every and anything just to keep Jason when he wanted nothing to do with her. I’m glad she is locked up and the only one the blame is herself. She changed everyone’s lives when she decided to take Alexs life and every single person is there for something she did and won’t admit too!! Her face says it all when she was found guilty as I assume just like arias she was never held accountable for her actions her whole life
I just found out about this case and am learning all about it. I am obsessed with the Jodi Arias case and have watched hours and hours of the trial. My question to you is - was there a bulldog prosecutor that pursued Ezra and confronted her and caught her lying on the stand? I hope so. I'm going to learn more about this case now that I've found it.

I think today it’s easy to have poor spelling and still be intelligent, especially amongst the younger generation. We rely so much on autocorrect, maybe those faculties never fully develop. This doesn’t mean she isn’t highly intelligent in other respects.
Should be easy right, interview Alex's friends/coworkers/family members for character and figure out what he did months/days/hours before it happened because he's accused of attacking Ezra. Would you not invite witnesses to prove this? What is this Jason/John and Ezra show? I know nothing of Alex, I was excited for Kort and he got 2 seconds on stand and shut down immediately, I blame the prosecution and defense for not utilizing him well at all. Any other friends that Alex might have with text messages or conversation with, but they have Facebook records of a breakup confession not regarding him? Okay, she had an abortion and it's been talked about a constantly, mentioned sleeping with John, wants to break up with Jason, called her a clown that one time, what does that have to do with Alex? Investigators didn't care about that, they called her out for lying in two interviews. Alex sounded like a really good person, just sad I'm leaving knowing nothing about him. I swear, one more testimony of Jason sleeping on a couch....
Look at how tight and upset Jenna is just because she has to be there for this. In contrast Ezra is giggling … stern and pompous.. this case has been keeping me up at night. I’ve been a 19 year girl in tolmutius relationships with men but I .. I never would stab them
She has what’s known as ‘low cunning’ - she’s a hustler, a conwoman, who ran rings around this bunch of ‘adults’ who were also all masquerading, in their own way, being intelligent. You can tell in the way she talks that she isn’t intelligent, from the moment at the start of the trial when she describes where she got the name ‘McCandless’ and gets the basic premise of ‘Into the Wild’ wrong.
She didn’t lie about her age, he just never asked her….which is weird. I find Ezra disgusting, unintelligent, immature, chaotic, devious, manipulative, vile, fucked in the head….but Jason is suspicious. I don’t think any 30-something year old woman who’s got something going for her is going to date Jason. Probably why he was all aboard for dating a dramatic 19 year old and moving her in without his roommate’s consent.
Love it when these court-appointed defense attorneys fail in making a gotcha point, but stay on track as if they were succeeding. Lesson for those engaged in bad, criminal stuff: create a special savings/investment fund. You'll need far better than court-appointed attorneys willing to work for scraps, and you'll have to pay.
This trial is making me wonder what Alex was like. He sounds interesting and intelligent. It's tragic that he became involved with Ezra as she was losing her mind.
As an attorney talking about an abortion, it would seem much less prejudicial if he use clinical terms; procedure (not operation), fetus (not aborted baby).
It’s because the defence said Ezra was 5’2 in her direct so the state brought up that her height on her drivers license is 5’6. That question was trying to prove that Ezra is 5’2 again
Now, why was I not surprised that Matthew is unemployed? I just have a certain sense of a certain entitlement of a guy who is probably smarter than most of the people around him, but also not very ambitious.
She didn't wake him up. of course not leaving a letter was easier than a full blown discussion that even her boyfriend would have seen how involved she was. She differently played both sides. That's why it will haunt her. Ezra never had intentions of breaking up with Jason.
That's not how it looks to me- it seems like she was cordial with her friend Jason's gf, but in her texts with Ezra she is very short and concise. I think she was the most normal, neutral, sane person in this whole group of ppl
It seems Jason never had intentions of letting go of Ezra, either. But it appears he was not fully committed to the relationship with Ezra which was confusing and frustrating to her. Rejecting her after the abortion was a bit cruel, IMO
@@musicloverchicago437 I feel like that’s a very understandable reason to distance yourself from someone. You don’t want your offspring/your line repeatedly murdered. Although you never know with that guy. I mean he picked this nut in the first place
@@emilinebelle7811 Look at the Wisconsin court records, it appears he had impregnated two other women prior to Ezra and was paying child support for both. If I'm right it might explain why he didn't object to Ezra having an abortion. But HE was the one who impregnated her, and they were living together at the time. He rejected her after the abortion thus confusing and hurting her. I say he was an a-s-s for doing that.
@@musicloverchicago437 That’s if any of that is true. She may have never actually been pregnant, she seems like the kind to lie about something like that. And I’ve heard several people claim it was because she was cheating and claiming that the consensual sex was assault.
Surprised she didn't kill Jason what did Alex do break up with her? I don't get it. Also Jason admitted to not saying a word and once she had the procedure Jason started sleeping on the couch. That's cruel
She was mad that she got busted cheating with Alex and Jason dumped her, then like a typical borderline she projected blame onto Alex instead of herself.
I still think Jason was part of it. You refuse to wear a condom force somebody to get an abortion and then back off of them like it was their fault. she SHOULD have killed jason
I think he knew at that point. Or suspected that she was sleeping with someone else which was his reasoning for sleeping on the couch. You'd think he'd have just communicated that to her though -_-
In texts he said he slept on the couch because he had such strong feelings he couldn't sleep in bed next to her without having sex. She said if he hadn't slept on the couch she would have told him about her bdsm fantasies and wouldn't have explored them with other guys
Did anyone else notice Ezra has a sister who looks just like her ??? About half way through the video. Watch closely as the judge over rules something and she smirks like yup , that’s right
Jenna definitely seem the most normal here, but not gonna lie, the way she speaks about Jason sounds like she is bitter… like she fancied him at one point but got turned down.
Wow 😳! I think you are wrong because females usually have a strong dislike toward their friend's significant others when noticing mistreatment . I really believe it has something to do with our innate maternal instinct.
@@kerrycavanaugh4268 but this after she killed one of their friends. So no maternal feelings left. Monica does seem to be hiding some strong feelings. More than likely she's angry with the defendant for betraying their friendship and killing a good friend. Her feelings for Jason are just being honest about a dickhead. But Ezra played headgames with him. So he was being passive aggressive by calling he er names. She hurt him and his head was spinning I'm sure.
@MichelleBForde I think Jenna was upset by the way Jason had treated Ezra, especially after the abortion. And she had seen how Jason spoke to other people. She was less than impressed, shall we say. It was the same feeling I got watching his testimony.
At 25:32 does anyone know who this pretty brunette woman is who looks like she could literally be Ezra M’s sister? And who the dude is sitting next to her?
She did it to punish him for being distant and sleeping in the couch and for validation of her sexual attractiveness and worth after feeling abandoned. Very BPDish
