I've been testing the AI in the preview I've got of the game to see if they're improved from F1 22 🤔

The AI line at lap 1 is a big issue. You have so much free space and can send it and make like 8 positions at the start every race. Would be nice if they are a little bit scattered around the track on lap 1 and not all bunched up on their line. 6:14 As an example

@@steelin666 i never played 2020 or 22, but play 2021 a lot and yeah just the other day i raced at spain with AI at 92 and could barely keep up in race pace (was far behind in quali) then went to baku again on 92 and set pole by 6 tenths and gapped the field by 12 seconds in the first stint in a 50% race, i was a little upset because i didnt want the win to come so easily. In other words - they reverted to the F1 2021 AI since most people disliked the F1 22 AI. I haven't seen a single instance so far where the AI in F1 23 looks like something we didn't have in F1 2021.

The only big difference is they have to fight their cars weight which doesn't change much in terms of on tracks battles but at least they have to deal with it because last year ot felt like they could throw their cars into corners and find worlds of traction when only at most a little more could be found not worlds other than that yeah they reverted the ai back to f1 21
@MitchWebb94
@MitchWebb94 Год назад
Track to track difficulty of AI is such an issue for players I think. Surely Codemasters could implement some sort of mathematical model that distributes the average laptime of players on each track, and assign difficulty levels to match the distribution on a track basis? Might be a bit rough to start (as is currently the case) but once enough data is collected it'd make difficulty levels much more consistent. Or perhaps when you begin a practice session and do a race run, at that point they could recommend a difficulty level for that particular track, given your car's current performance relative to the field. That way, your car stays relative to the other cars on track, and stays consistent across tracks.

Adding an aggression slider alongside the difficult slider would fix a lot of the issues. That way people who want to have proper fights with the ai can do that And the ones that want to easily bully the ai can do that too The real issue is that the ai are on rails and don’t abide by the laws of physics when they make contact with players or eachother.
@notthefia9154
@notthefia9154 Год назад
To be fair for F1 22 people asked for the AI to be insanely aggressive, unfair, to leave you no room and most of all for them to be unpredictable so that you had to race them smartly, realistically and treat each individual driver/ car around you as a potential race ending threat which meant you had to pick people off one by one, set a lot of moves up and pick which battles you wanted to fight, not just send it round the outside of 5 of them at T1, sometimes they were absolutely nuts with the spacial awareness on lap 1 and without mods fixing this, their biggest exploit would be their strategy, train braking and how they treated high mounted kerb’s because you could just bounce them off over the kerb like Imola 21
@apophisstr6719
@apophisstr6719 Год назад
Whenever people race Ai they just assumed the Ai have 6th sense to be aware of anything that come from behind them, most players totally forgotten about divebombing is always gonna has the risk of the guy in front not knowing your attempt and just turn in like normal and result in a crash, this is completely normal even (or especially) in real life against real people. Race the Ai like against real people in a clean lobby, and you'll have a much better and consistent experience.
@harisserdarevic4913
@harisserdarevic4913 Год назад
@@apophisstr6719 that's what i was thinking during the whole part of the video where he described the AI "turning in on you". like if you're divebombing from as far back as he was in his clips, you deserve to be turned in on. if the AI tried a lunge of that sort on the player, the player would curse out the "over aggressive AI". I think it's cooler for immersion that the AI are harder to fight, even if they're a bit dangerous on turning in.
@MrWuffels
@MrWuffels Год назад
@@apophisstr6719 Yeah, people generally aren't really fair about AI. They want them to make mistakes ... but please never that way, that it hinders themselves. They want the AI to be aggressive. But never that they can be unaware of the players divebomb 3 car lengths away. They should go for moves but never in a way the player in the moment doesn't predict ... People don't like being outplayed by a computer, but of course get bored when they never are. The AI definitiely had a few corners where they were systematically and reproducible ignoring the player. They also had a few corners where they were going for moves which never could have worked and had to be ending in a crash, yes. But my opinion is, the AI in F1 22 was fun to race, because you had to be smart and had to set up your moves. It was great. Since the first videos of F1 23 I have the feeling they they're way to passive now and way to easy to overtake. Every dumb divebomb seems to work. I hope it really isn't the case. F1 2020 had a similar passive AI, and in my opinion was the worst out of the last 3 (even tho almost everything else was better in that game). But they learned a few new moves now I seen. Those switchbacks look great so far :D I hope they don't back out everytime they pull it off

I reckon a good way around the AI issues would be for EA to host a couple creator events during development of the next game and have these creators/the top racers from the previous games leaderboards or esports do several races and collect data on how they all race using the different cars/teams, the strategies they use etc and then add that data in game. They can make tweaks to each profile so it’s not just a carbon copy of a specific creator and the creator can also have input regarding things like the default setups in game and just generally new ways to make the experience more enjoyable for all since they spend some time communicating with the community and immersed in each game.

I just want Codies to nerf the AI straight line speed. Some tracks in F1 22 required me to lower my wings by like 8 clicks just to keep up with them on the straight. It's such a lazy way to code difficulty. At some tracks, I was able to keep up in the corners, but as soon as we hit a straight, they leave me in the dust even with Overtake and DRS. Lowering the difficulty still kept them crazy fast on straights. It makes racing against the AI so pointless.
