I grew up next to prosperity preachers and they got me involved with their church. It all lead back to Tulsa OK. Their whole basis was laid on taking money from hard working people and living high in luxury. They preach for their own wallet.

I went to Benny's brothers church when I was a single mom. I struggled financially and often had lack, even though I gave to the church and attended every Sunday and Wednesday. After seeing the scripture in Acts I now realize that this church was not a biblical church, because if they were they would have made sure I was not lacking. Instead they criticized and condemned me for not being able to make ends meet.
Yes, another common feature/experience of prosperity gospel environments - blaming the person for any lack. I was amazed at their hypocrisy, the parents of a long ago girlfriend did the same to me, questioning my faith and commitment due to any lack in life and commenting on many others, even though the mother had a sickness which required weekly treatments.
Fighting for the faith thank you for your work for exposing these false teachers and prophets. Listening your sermon critiques on the podcast have helped me to recognize the lack of Gospel teaching in the NAR. Once I realized the NAR pastor I was under wasn’t preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ I left the NAR movement repented then started studying the scriptures under a reformed pastor.

The mid-1990s I worked faithfully and trustingly as one of Benny Hinn’s private security detail. I had a front row seat of watching countless thousands and thousands of people mesmerized by the false doctrines, theatrics and twisted scripture teachings of this unholy man. I remember how my coworkers used to mockingly say “oh, we are suffering for Jesus” with all the money they were being paid for hiding this man’s secrets. Excellent explanation of how this man has deceived so many people.
Contrary to what Benny Hinn is preaching here, I have a part time job, have to live with family and have 2 dollars and change in the bank until pay day and that's every other week! So, am I blessed? This guy sounds like the "Carlton Sheets " of the cloth. Mom gave several thousands to this dude, and Kenneth Copeland, and Jimmy Swaggart, etc, and at the same time, struggling to pay our property taxes, and utility bills. At the same time Christian churches I attended in the Hanford area, threw me out of church for operating a motel and apartments, citing we had a "den of iniquity". If all what he said was true, we would have advanced financially, and mom wouldn't have died sick with Alzheimer's, and we wouldn't have lost everything. I've known since 1993 this dude was a liar.

soteriologist 2014 Well, “Y’shua” or “Yeshua” is merely the Hebrew form of “Jesus”, which is a Greek word, and the New Testament is written in Greek, which was the common language in the Eastern Roman Empire. You can nitpick this a lot, because I could say that the word “God” cannot be found in the Bible, because “God” is an English word, which didn’t even exist at the time the Bible was written. What you will find in the Hebrew Scriptures (which IS part of the Christian Bible) is the anglicized “Joshua”, (roughly the equivalent of “Yeshua”) and not only is the word mentioned frequently, there is an entire book which bears that name. But what is your real point? Are you claiming that Jesus DID take payment for miracles? Or that he taught anything resembling the prosperity gospel?

But..... Chris actually shares the gospel and he’s not giving you false promises of health and wealth if you send money as opposed to Hinn who is clearly using the scriptures wrongly to get your money. You won’t see Chris driving fancy cars, flying in personal jets or wearing designer clothing! Supporting a sound ministry doesn’t even compare to giving money to snake oil salesmen and that’s exactly what Benny Hinn is. Chris is very good at teaching the Word in its truth.
A little retired lady gave her whole retirement check to one of those preachers. $800 is all she had and put it all in there. She believed the story she would get double in her mail box at Morris Cerello. The guy with the beard and plays piano was saying you will get double back. How do we protect these people. She believed that mess. They shouldn’t be allowed to say those things .
I met Benny Hinn in the 70's, at that time, he was a young man with jet black hair. He used to preach rightly, but over the yrs, his preaching has changed and become very annoying. And why do we need to send him a seed or seeds to be blessed ? Why can't he ask for himself. Money isn't a seed. Send him orange seeds, watermelon, fig, all kind of seeds and some plants. But bless yourself first, by sowing in your own garden !

I listened and tried to give my money to god. I even went to the bank and pulled out a whole bunch of money and left it on the table saying here god.....this is the money I was told to give you. Take it all. A week later all that money was still there. Again I said....god this is the money I was told you needed. Please take it. A week later it was still there. This time I cried out....dear Lord I was told you needed this money please take it. A week later it was still there. This time I prayed...Lord, I have been told over and over you need this money...I went and got this just for you...why won't you take it? A week later it was still there. That's when I learned that God has no use for my money....but man sure does.
He has more money than he can ever spend, and he is STILL at it. He's not long for this world, and the next one won't be a welcome sight for him, methinks.

Speaking as a Catholic, I can confirm that the Church does NOT teach that only the poor can be saved, and that the wealthy cannot be saved. Hinn is likely talking about the parable of Lazarus and the rich man. Now the rich man’s wealth WAS an impediment to salvation, but what was fatal was his apathy towards the suffering of Lazarus, who was living right on the street in front of the rich man’s house, and yet the rich man was incapable of showing any compassion and “loving kindness” to try to alleviate his suffering. There is also the story of the wealthy young man who asked Jesus what he needed for salvation. Jesus told him to follow the Torah and the prophets (of the Hebrew Scriptures), and when the young man said that he did that, Jesus invited him to make a deeper relationship by selling all he had, and giving it to the poor, and then to come and follow him as a disciple. This the young man could not do, and it’s at this point that Jesus talks about how it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a wealthy person to enter the Kingdom of God. However, Jesus adds a critical point, saying that with God, all things are possible. So, yes, Hinn is creating a straw man. And his representation of Catholic theology is false. But the Church (or at least many in the Church) does warn about spending most of one’s time focused on becoming wealthy, and encouraging living simply, which is not the same as being destitute. The echoes of the way the early Church lived, as described in Acts, lives on in religious orders, whose members do live as a community. This is not required to be a Catholic, and a short glimpse of history shows that with many Catholics (including many in the hierarchy) these teachings of Jesus are not always lived out.

What you don't understand is it is Pasta Benny's job to fleece the sheep until such a time that the sheep wake up and become shepherds themselves. Personally, I think he's doing a great job. He will go down in history along side Jimmy Swaggered, Jim Bakker, Oral Roberts, Robert Tilton and a number of other "wolves in sheep's clothing" that have preyed upon sincere but gullible individuals for centuries. What I think is many so-called Christians no longer believe in acting like Christ. It doesn't have anything to do with churches and building and giving money to support a TV ministry. As far as I'm concerned, Christ doesn't work with any religion on Earth; he only works with individuals who choose to act Christ-like. "If you have done it unto the least of these, you have done it unto me." "And greater works than I have done, ye will do, if you believe in me."
I have been debating making some videos on this topic for a long time now. I keep wrestling with it. I was very very close with a very well known “prosperity family” and I have seen some things and can tell you it was almost enough to make me really question God, thankfully I didn’t.
The point is not about planting, or giving seeds according to hinn, but it is about WORK/EFFORT and TRUST in God even in hard situation. Isaac believed and followed the God's command and sowed the land so God blessed him with a hundredfold harvest. Gen 26:12 is not about charity/giving, it's about trust in God.

Unfortunately I was raised by a single father that worked long hours and never had time for me and his girlfriends... I was playing with my toys one day when Benny hinn came on. He said a boy with a skin disease is healed. I have psoriasis.A commercial followed with the rich man asking what more he must do to enter Heaven... That was enough for a young lonely, ignorant ,Catholic to go get all his toys with tears in his eyes and cast them into a river. I forgive Benny and may Yahweh have mercy on him. In 30 minutes flat he can preach a sermon, heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons, mesmerize a crowd, wave his jacket until the stitching falls out, push people over with a wave of his hand, then blow the anointing on an entire crowd who then falls down, right on cue, for what reason I do not know. As a finale, he can drain your bank account, deprive you of being able to 1) pay your rent, 2) buy groceries, 3) heat and / or air condition your home, 4) pay off your car, 5) buy gasoline for said car (until it is repossessed that is), and 6) prevent you from being financially able to afford summer camp for you kids. If that is not miracle enough for you, know that Benny does it all with an enchanted hairdo that never fails. Thus, the secret of the Hinn anointing is not the power to say and do miraculous things and perform astounding rip-offs. Au contraire. It is, rather, the anointing of the stay-in-place hairstyle that endures in the midst of the most energetic of ministries, an anointing that makes people earnestly desire to believe the impossible. I got to listen to Benny Hinn way back in 1977 in a small church in North Miami. the small group I went with 'who actually read our Bibles together at our homes, went by the urging of our pastor. We knew he was a scam even back then before he had a big ministry on T.V. he was already decked in gold jewelry, and we also noted how rude he was with children.
Thank you for pointing out how Benny Hinn does a quick twist on scriptures to support his greediness. I think it's very easy to see what a fake he is. Anyone who has read about the art of persuasion can see how he talks fast, is charismatic in language and body movements. But, I was a little disappointed that you seemed to cut the video short. I was waiting for you to show him asking for seed donations which would have proved your argument that That's what he was asking for. I also noticed that he said more than once that you'll never be in need again.
