I like how at multiple points in F9, Roman literally becomes a self aware, stand-in character for the audience and asks all the questions we are wondering about and points out the absurdity of the series
Honestly at some point I thought it was gonna reveal that they were experimented on by the government and they didn't know it because in Hobbs and Shaw Idris Elba was a cybernetically enhanced super soldier so I thought they were gonna connect it to that. Especially since the moment Roman mentioned that they are invincible they started doing even more super human shit and I was like they gotta reveal that they were experiments or something. They even had that scene where John Cena was fighting that goon on top of the truck and he hit that Highway sign and it didn't even affect him.
He does the thing in Fast 6 where the first joke of the movie is basically the villains are evil mirror universe counterparts to the heroes and the 2nd joke is that the audience doesnt need that spelled out for them but Tyrese looks straight at the camera and does it anyway
@@ididntmeantoshootthatvietn5012 "now they're superhuman"well tbh compared to other "normal" humans that's really not that weird Batman was able to send a thug flying with a punch (batman v superman) and punisher smashed someone's face with his own fist (the punisher:warzone).... not even Bruce Lee would be able to pull that shit off What i'm trying to say is peak human=super human in fiction ... atleast in action films anyway
@@thefilmwatcher1302 Sorry, Thanos... but, he was created in 1971, you were created two years later... 1973. Did you uhh, forget your own comic book appearance?
@@game-tuber5083 I was making a reference to Invincible, about how the Mauler Twins didn’t know which of them was the original because of this device the actual original used on himself. Great, now you’ve made the joke not funny.
I like how he called the rock and Jason Statham‘s characters just “the rock and Jason Statham” even though they have a spinoff movie that’s literally titled after the characters
I’m seeing it tonight and this sentence is so mind-breakingly stupid I can’t wait to see what the hell you’re talking about. Update when I get back EDIT: Jesus CrossFit Christ they just drive the car with a gear shift and steering wheel, I think i lost the ability to breathe for a good ten seconds when it happened
I still think it's funny how The Rock and Jason Statham kind of tried to take over this franchise and then noped out. Just collecting franchises like pokemon.
@@chriscostanza8873 I feel like Hobbs and Shaw can more realistically be ridiculous since the main characters are all basically super soldiers in the first place
This is one of the stupidest movies I have ever seen. The space car segment and the long lost evil brother clique especially made this movie somehow dumber than 7 and 8. This movie made me want to bash my head into a wall, and, as someone who isn’t invested in fast and furious at all, I recommend it to everyone wholeheartedly.
Sometimes the stupidest over the top movies are the best movies on any given day. I freaking love how I can just watch these movies not with the intention of seeing a narrative masterpiece but just to say “ooh fast car goes vroom vroom then boom”
Lol me and my friends went to go watch this movie at the mall after hitting the gym and it was the fucking best! I was laughing my ass off the entire time
@@Mr_Cinematic I normally don’t watch shills in comments, but gave yours a watch. Did a great job highlighting the legitimate issues with this movje. You also made me realize cardi b was in this movie (I guess I was in the bathroom during that scene because I don’t remember it at all), so...
Every time I see someone complaining about how absurd, crazy, cringe, corny, dumb the FF movies are I think to myself: Yeah, that's exactly why we like it dumber.
@@semkok7759, that’s true but at least F&F contains actual well-filmed action, no annoying characters that make me want to smash my screen and no offensive jokes
but Dom barely said a word to Jakob. jakob seemed to turn good mostly because of being betrayed by his own guys, reminded that blood was important by seeing how Dom interacted with his crew, and the moment in which Mia tried to save him by reaching out to him. Mia did more to turn her brother good than Dom did.
Dominic Toretto, others are trying to make Jesus a bad person, he wants to win or something. Jesus always wants to help humans be better. If Dominic Toretto needs to win for the family, he will help him give it
If you're interested in picking it up, I would recommend viewing it in chronological order for minimum confusion. (I guess no one watches this shit for the plot anyway, but it helps temper the absurdity of the franchise just a little) The Fast and the Furious>2 Fast 2 Furious>Better Luck Tomorrow>Fast and Furious (2009)>Fast Five>Fast and Furious 6>Tokyo Drift>Furious 7>The F8 of the Furious>Hobbs & Shaw>F9
@@icantthinkofacoolname1308 what are you talking about? People watch F&F movies for oscar worthy acting, a thought provoking screenplay and exceptional direction. If this movie doesn't have any of that, then it shouldn't exist!
@@glendarjj3991 I always thought that people watched it for the crazy action and fun characters and like cosmonaut said it’s a “turn your brain off type of movie”
I was also a newbie to the series with this movie, I’d been forced to watch most of the previous ones before hand. But… I LOVED IT. I’m now going to go back and watch them all in order.
First F&F movie I saw, it had me floored. I never saw the others before this, but there’s a scene where a guy who died in the past in brought back and they’re like “how the hell are you here” and it goes to a flashback where they get killed and then it pans around a corner and he’s standing there with someone else and is like “man, that looked really dangerous…someone could’ve gotten seriously hurt” and that has to be one of the best scenes ever written
I can't wait until the next arc when Dom and his crew descend to Hades and take over, gaining new allies known as the Furies using Car-fu and Corona. F10: Fast, Furies, Us.
Well the difference is that kh assumes that you are smart enough to keep up with a complex storyline. F9 assumes that you are so insanely stupid that there's no storyline at all. Although they both have super vague villains that are somehow about to take over the world and are stopped with essentially a care bear stare of friendship.
well maybe Diesel didn´t wanted to give Cena the stage to steal him the show and half the fanbase just as The Rock did There is a reason why he got his own movie and isn´t in this one
The writing in this one is actually a huge step up from F8. Like, you don't have to fully turn your brain off to enjoy it, just switch it into low power mode.
This movie dumbness goes to insane levels of surrealism that kinda makes sense that it end up being a Cannes Film Festival feature. Yeah, that happened to Cannes 2021.
This movie was the most absurd and it was still super funny. I also just recently watched them all for the first time and I agree completely with how funny they are.
When you REALLY think about it, NONE of the main characters ever suffered serious injuries, like ever, cuts and bruises but EVERY single one of them have not been that hurt since the 1st movie They seriously are superhuman, it’s been that all along, I just wish they’d find out why already
Rewatching 7 made me realize how much I’m gonna miss Hobbs when I watch this one. At the same time though this’ll also be my first FF theater experience Edit: I saw it. It was amazing
I just got back from watching this in theaters and I really enjoyed it. The parts that had me cracking up was Dom mentioning his brother like we should know who he is meanwhile he never mentioned him throughout the whole franchise yet Letty knew and told no one 🤣
My experience 100% in just about every way with this series and theater feelz, P.S. "gooo get on that shit" LOL great delivery, right on time where it needed to be...LIKE A FAMILY.
This is so refreshing. I keep seeing reviews like "Man, this is bad because there's nothing tying it to reality anymore like the last few entries" And like, if you were still taking this series seriously after 4&5, that says way more about you than it. This is exactly what I wanted from F9; in no way is it a deviation from the stuff they've been nailing for a decade plus.
I'm just waiting for it to show up on streaming services. I binged the whole series with a friend who lives in another state and I can't watch more of the series without them. :(
That scene with Roman getting riddled with bullets and talking about it later makes me think that they're gonna pull some Matrix/Free guy nonsense in the future, and I can't wait
you have too do a picture show on every film because your commentary will make them the greatest comedies on earth. Furious 7 has too be one of the funniest films ive ever seen.
My boyfriend and I binged the entire franchise over quarantine, so Fast 9 was also my first time watching a Fast movie in theaters and you're so right, the theater experience is the superior way to enjoy these movies. I can't believe I am so weirdly invested in this series now. (And I am SO happy they brought Han back. He's seriously one of my favorite characters in the franchise. And the way they tied other secondary characters in Fast 9 to Tokyo Drift? This franchise, I swear lol)
I watched this as my first Fast And The Furious experience and it was fucking incredible. And I was with a friend who has seen the entire franchise, so he could explain what I didn't know (like why these street racers were suddenly going on a spy mission)
I think this was the first Fast and Furious movie that I watched since Tokyo Drift and I was not disappointed... I left the theatre going on about how much better Fast and Furious is then most Marvel films for the simple fact that it knows exactly what it is and it delivers on that. Big action set pieces centered around cars and a close knit group that may not be related by blood but will always be family.
