Just so you all know: The Fast and the Furious = Wild Speed 2 Fast 2 Furious = Wild Speed X2 The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift = Wild Speed X3 TOKYO DRIFT Fast & Furious = Wild Speed MAX Fast Five = Wild Speed MEGA MAX Fast & Furious 6 = Wild Speed EURO MISSION Furious 7 = Wild Speed SKY MISSION The Fate of the Furious = Wild Speed ICE BREAK
It's incredible how they went from street criminals who own a small restaurant to international mercenaries, hackers, etc. who fight political terrorists and war lords.
Initially I found that so dumb, but honestly as time went on I grew to appreciate this point the most. It’s just so over the top, crazy, and dumb, that it just works. It’s almost like a comedy in that regard, and it just embraces the insanity, and I can respect that brashness.
Initially read this thinking you meant Dom fights Jason from Friday the 13th and honestly that's not completely out the realm of possibility for this series.
If youre a car guy, 1 through 3 are the best ones. For the general audience, it’s 4 through now. As for me I’m both a car guy and a movie guy so I love the whole series
I watched F8 of the Furious with a car guy, he was like 21 and trying to be cool bitching about how its not about the cars any more - I am 33 have long since given a shit about being cool and kept shouting Vroom Vroom go Boom Boom!
One of my favorite things about Marcus is he can properly articulate what it is that he does or doesn't like about a thing, AND he can look at the Fast Five logo and go "It's disgusting. I love it."
Theses movies have no right to be as good as they are, they shouldn’t work, they should be cringey cash grabs that use way to much product placement and big name celebrities to sell, and yet it’s ok that they do kinda do that for me cause they’re so fun, Dwayne Johnson’s character in theses films is one of my favourite rolls of his, and it honestly makes me feel like I’m 12 again watching a superhero movie with all the action and explosions, and Paul’s send off honestly had me in tears cause they could of just tried to ignore his death or just write him out off screen, but you feel in that scene they’re genuinely upset that he died and wanted to give him a proper farewell for his character, it honestly felt like the actors saying good bye to their friend instead of just writing him out.
Yes...I remember when Paul Walker died it was all over the place, but I didn't watch these films so I didn't understand...and then I finished Fast 7. It hurt to finish because I knew that it was gonna be the last time he would ride with Vin Diesel... 😭
The thing they embrace the fact they are cashgrabs Most cashgrabs take an already existing universe and ruin it for money, ruining fans expectations (like a starwars fan gettinf shoved the last trilogy wich was esentially a 2 hour toy comercial per movie) Fast and furious built a universe from thw ground up for being a entertain focused setting,no one goes to watch fast and furious because it deep themes, but for fun explosions And fast and furious has actually become skilled at its porpuse (a action packed movie for unbelievable stunts and figths) In a nutshell: since the 4th movie fast and furious is about overtop action, and has embraced that identity wholly
Yeah, it really does change your perspective a bit. You see all this ridiculous crap in live action and you're like "Wtf this is stupid, that'd be impossible," but then if you just consider this live action anime it's like, "Oh...this is dope."
You didn't even mention the nonsensical naming scheme. EVERY SINGLE MOVIE has a different name style. The Fast and The Furious 2 Fast 2 Furious The Fast and The Furious; Tokyo Drift Fast and Furious Fast Five Furious 6 Fast and Furious 7 The F8 of the Furious Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw 9 movies and they haven't reused a sequel format once.
You know, one of the main complaints I've heard about Hobbs and Shaw is that Shaw killed Han in one movie and in the next one he's besties with all the good guys. From a western cinema point of view they're kinda right, but form your 'Fast and Furious is an anime' point of view it makes a lot more sense. That also means that technically speaking, Shaw is Vegeta.
That whole thing is weird to look back on since Han has returned to the franchise. So in Fast 7 was there even a body in the coffin for Han's funeral scene? Dom went to Tokyo to "bring back Han" but if he was alive all along then how was Dom able to confirm that he was actually dead....unless he knew!
I just don’t understand why people don’t want to just have fun. Not every movie needs to inspire you or make you cry the house out. Just enjoy yourself for once
Statham, Diesel and the Rock have contract clauses that control how many times they are allowed to be punched in order to protect their toughness. Statham specifically has a contract clause that he is not allowed to lose a fight, story structure be damned.
Even the Japanese titles make it sound like an awesome anime or some car-based fighting game: The Fast and the Furious = Wild Speed 2 Fast 2 Furious = Wild Speed X2 The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift = Wild Speed X3: TOKYO DRIFT Fast & Furious = Wild Speed MAX Fast Five = Wild Speed MEGA MAX Fast & Furious 6 = Wild Speed: EURO MISSION Furious 7 = Wild Speed: SKY MISSION The Fate of the Furious = Wild Speed: ICE BREAK Hobbs & Shaw = Wild Speed: SUPER COMBO
“The thing about street fights... The street, always wins” That has got to be the dumbest line in any action movie, ever! Edit: I’ve seen F7 and I know the scene and it’s just a stupid line that makes no sense!
Maclain I remember hearing that in the movie theater and my friend and I just started bursted out laughing (meanwhile this was a packed movie theatre and nobody else laughed at that)
everyone thinks adapting anime means throwing out all the over the top fights and action, and replacing it with 'relatable' garbage. you just gotta find the car-fu.
the key difference is adaptation, most adaptations in general are already in a losing position, when your live action anime is initially live action you can only go up
Dude I‘ve been binging the Fast franchise (which I had never seen) and it‘s AMAZING!!!!!! Loved your channel, literally wanted to see what people would say. Your video came up. It‘s amazing.
I'm late, but same My dad and I enjoyed the first few movies but when they got more and more ridiculous we were mostly laughing and shaking our heads while watching them
Is it bad that "Paul Walker" has become a word to describe something(mostly, but not limited to, a vehicle of some kind) going really fast into an immovable object in my vocabulary ? Example: I just Paul Walker'd my hotweel across my room
Can’t wait till fast and furious 19 when vin diesel summons the ancient ancestors of cars themselves and rides a ghost Thomas the train into the White House to save the president from evil car demons from the planet CAR
For anyone who doesn't know, allow me to introduce you to the Japanese titles for this series. Wild Speed Wild Speed x2 Wild Speed x3: Tokyo Drift Wild Speed: MAX Wild Speed: MEGA MAX Wild Speed: Euro Mission Wild Speed: Sky Mission Wild Speed: Ice Break Wild Speed: Super Combo Wild Speed: Jet Break
I just found your channel yesterday and have been binging your videos like a maniac, I absolutely love your content and the way you critique things. Fast and furious is one of my favorite series and when you said “this is disgusting I love it” about the fast five logo that completely sums up why these movies are so enjoyable. The way you deliver jokes is so perfect and I’ve cackled multiple times watching your videos which is pretty rare for me. Nice job man
I love your videos, but check yourself. The scene from the first movie where they drive the car under the semi was insane when the movie came out, and is still a badass stunt. Sincerely, my childhood
Maxwell Greaney It’s still badass but it’s a feasible stunt if you’re skilled enough, that’s why it’s kinda meh considering the fact that by the fifth movie they are using a fucking bank vault to maul other cars lol
O K it’s definitely a terrible change for us car guys, these slow boys just eat up the shitty cash grabs year after year. The series very obviously should’ve ended when Paul died, but even then it was starting to turn into a cash grab.
