I bought fyreslayers as my first army after the starter set for AoS 2, but barely played them in AoS 2 and only the beginning of AoS 3, after loosing every game I finally sold them and have played a lot of different armies since then. But the last month I just felt I regretted selling than and now in progress to rebuy and paint my lost army. Now I’ve played lots of armies and tournaments I feel it’s finally time for the slow and steady Fyreslayers! 😊

I'm generally okay with most of the changes with the army, the Runemaster buff ability is a bit iffy to me because realistically its usually going off twice a game before getting sniped. Also it's basically 1 ability taking up two abilities. If there was another "spend x amount of token(s) to do Y" I think it would be fine. Hearthguard being a 6+ save really hurts since they are some of the toughest of the faction lore wise and now they have the same save as a common goblin really stings. I understand their role is hero guard but oof that stings, give the dual axe vulkite something like that not THE ELITE (minus grimwrath and rune father of course) of the faction. The potential army wide 6+ ward will help with that, lots of tricks to keep them up and only saw basically half our range in the preview but we'll see what the rest bring.

Never played AOS before but this edition is mine. I really hope Spearhead will be any good. Playing some Warcry and this sounds like a great addition! Thanks for covering all that content!

I don't understand the need for a triple nerf to hearthguard. Save from 5 to 6, ward from 4 to 5 and hero needs to be within 9 to 3. Any one of those would be impactful, all 3 is excessive. They better be dirt cheap now.

Fyreslayers are looking fantastic.

I like the way you explained the power of the 2 cast priest and the cumulative buffs possible on their infantry tied with battle traits and other units

I just picked up fyreslayers 3 days before this dropped. I’m already stoked for it. Seems like a very swingy army with A LOT of skill expression

I really like the lore on these guys - hammering their god into their flesh to blaze their power back into the world is cool. These mechanics look really fun - if a little bit like juggling effects and triggers all at the right time or it all falls apart as 6+ save dies real fast even if 2 wounds. Shame they all look the same... The Volcanic Blood is a passive ability so a unit is only affected by it once anyway so only ever 1 damage?

I like the runes being triggered in the relevant phase, since the game is more dynamic with the reactions phase to phase strategy might change. Its also easier on my squirrel brain to activate in something in the phase im in rather than activate an effect in one phase and use the effect in another phase, in case I get distracted.

You are getting me excited for AoS4 and fyreslayers

I just read, and i didnt saw it by myself, the enhanced effekt of the Rune of Relentless Zeal gives you +1 to Run Rolls, but the Rune is activated in the Charge Phase, that is weird.

The D3 one has become a bit divisive in club conversations with people in both camps. I think the problem is that a lot of people are highly resistant to the idea of an auto-fail a third of the time, so are grasping at the idea that it's only the 1 on the face of the D6 which auto-fails. If you're asked to roll a D3, there is no D6: it's simply a proxy to get your D3 result.

I plan to go back to playing my Fyreslayers a lot more assuming the rules match up so these actually play well. Otherwise love my SCE & still haven’t really played my Seraphon or Slaanesh I built much and sounds like I’ll just wait to bring me Ogors back until they refresh the range. Or maybe at least, a little reach around would be nice for my Fatties.

Sounds like a good utility army. Buff saves and wards until you've closed the distance, then buff wounds and crits once in combat 👌

Play 40k and looking to get an army for AOS, was thinking Dearves since i love them in fantasy, they seem good, though I'm not sure. Dwarves or Dinos for me.

Thanks for the vid 😀 I'm a bit of a smooth brain but this army seems a bit lacking rules wise. Slow close combat army that's easy to kill? Not a great plan. Some nice combos that takes survivability from terrible to bad but probably not enough. I get that GW were basing armour saves on armour worn, but I feel natural toughness should have been taken into account. Dwarfs usually make up for a lack of speed with being very tough. These guys have neither speed nor resilience. I like the army but they need more models(some actual units would be nice) and better rules. I don't want these guys to be squatted due to a stunted model line and weak rules.

Loving the Fyreslayers. 6+ ward army wide really helps with the squishy-ness the army has always had. Runes are better, and the Bois feel like the god-infused Dwarves they were always meant to be!

I’ve always like the idea of fire slayers.. the range is so boring though. They need some variety other than orange Mohawk guys with axes. Maybe some flame throwers guys. Or some flame cannon things. Or even a fire powered dreadnought walker thing. Just something

Can wizards and priests attempt to dispell both endless spells and invocations, or can wizards only dispell endless spells and priests can only dispell invocations?

On the website, it looks like we have two sets of battle traits and ur gold runes... What's up with that? We even have two runes of fury with different effects.

If a prayer is unlimited and a priest has 2 prayers....can't they just use the prayer twice to boost it up?

There's a pretty obvious mistake with the runemaster because the +1 to run can't really be used unless you went first and you're only getting it for +1 to redeploy. Which feels odd. Also I'm not convinced +1 to run rolls counts for redeploy. It doesn't say run abilities, it says run rolls. They're not the same.

I maintain that the 2+ on a D3 is the silliest of silly rules. Why can't it just do D3 damage and be done with it? I will die on this hill if I have to.

Latchkey doing 3 damage doesn't make sense. Berserkers 3+/3+ makes n sense. Dwarves are stronger than stormcast? Hit as well as elves, wound as well as Orruk? Dwarves are the pinnacle species in the mortal realms? Feels like they threw their own metrics out the window for fyreslayers. On top of the fact that they get more buffs so far that we've seen out of any army.

Is it racist that both of the main dwarf factions are all in it for the gold? Also hyped for these lads to get squatted and turned into Chorfs 2.0. (I'm sticking to this)

I dislike that they’re extremely squishy now. Its great they’re high damage but being so slow is pretty lame.
