You and your husband should be so proud of yourselves for providing your children with such a rich and honest upbringing….teaching them some of the most important lessons in life, sustainable healthy food production, an understanding of the seasons, and preservation of food. What a glorious world it would be if every parent could provide these lessons the their children. Your videos are a true joy to watch, blessings from a fellow farmer from Downunder Australia 🇦🇺

It's so nice and refreshing to see young couples and their children working together around the home and mom teaching them how to cook and use the appliances and dad teaching his sons how to use tools. This is how my parents did with our family, and they have gone home to be with the Lord and I am using the training and skills my parents taught me as I continue on my homestead journey. Thanks for sharing your family with us.

Thank you. Wood chips are a variety, but all are from local trees. Cedars, oak, elm, hickory, maples, cherry make up 90% of what we use for mulch. We have a few tree service companies on speed dial so that we "hopefully" never run out of mulch.

Great way to roll with the punches! Ive seen folks use old trampoline frames for their movable chicken pens. And throwing boards on the ground where your pen will be the day before encourages bugs to hide out under it...which the chickens can eat when you move them.

The "old styles" are our earlier attempts at chicken tractors. When we get another "A frame" one built, we retire the old ones and convert them to the new one. Just takes a few weeks every time to churn out another chicken house.

I planted cowpeas and cucumbers last year after peas. Cow peas and peas are both legumes and normally I wouldn’t do one right after another in the same spot. But the trellis was there and it was easier not to move it. We still had a fantastic harvest. I moved the trellis to a new location this year, but will do the same thing again.
