YES!! A FAT AZZ SHOUTOUT To ROXI for THIS, Thank YOU Roxanne!! SUCH a HEAVY & ST8 FIREBREATHING Track from FNM!! Okay ima spill some Beans here 4 this song. YES I actually CRIED when i st heard this Track DECADES ago.. Reason being is that Yea i was a ST8 Migrant Worker for MUCH of my early years as our Family traversed the ENTIRETY of the Southern States 'Pickin & Plowing' our way to and fro, State To State. My Great Grand Father at THAT time (RIP My Beloved) would Dance about our Campfires 'Chanting & Dancing' to our Families Traditional Songs of 'Thanks & Blessings & Praises'.. So when the song breaks down and you 'Hear' this it just made ALL those memories come back to life!! SOOO many times we would PRAY out Loud for 'The Rains' to come and the clouds to build up and cover over us!! This is where & when we ALL (All My Siblings) learned to Box & Fight, we never stayed in 1 place for long, during the winter months we all would learn what i call "Home Economics" a Class that ALL Schools should of KEPT as far as im concerned about it.. Yeah, Roxie, speaking of nailing it.:))) A truly unique Angel Dust song, rarely performed live, which tells story of native Americans - through their perspective, very emotional and meaningful, with a strong taste of sadness in the mouth, but also - with a hope.:) Shout out to all the brothers natives out there, now we know one of them is present here on your channel. J, not me, if you ask, but you`ll recognize the wise and eloquent brotha` in the comments below. I greet him, no less. :) It`s the original, native chanting out there, in the middle of the song, where the bass got the funk, but despite your wild and experienced guessing - nahh, it`s not Mike Patton singing there.:) The keyboardist actually used a sample of the old man who sang that part.;) Now you know. However, Mike Patton gave a legit tribute to the music of Native Americans through the 3rd album of his band Tomahawk, which is all in that style, with its` haunting name - "Anonymous". One of my favourites off this record, glad you liked it (shout out to Roxanne as usual for the excellent request!) Would love to hear your thoughts on Cone of Shame from their last record Sol Invictus. I think it shows how creative, heavy and unusual they still are as 50 year old men who hadn't played together for over a decade.
