Angel Dust is brilliant. The sounds that you couldn't pin were all synth sounds. One of them is called an "orchestra shot" and they were very popular in a lot of mainstream hip hop in the early 90s. Keep up the good work
Yep. EMU EMAX and a rackmount version that belonged to Bill Gould. There is a LOT of samples and synth on Angel Dust - infact, several songs are missing from the final release because the band ran out of money to clear all the samples and had a few lawsuits over some of the songs that are on the final cut - for example, "Crack Hitler"... There is also a song called "Seagull Song" that was never fully completed but can be heard on the Angel Dust Sessions videos which featured synth patches of an "angry crowd", wave swells, and seagulls
Faith No More's melodic, poppy, synth & sample heavy masterpiece. Such a progressive, feel-good song. Pure art rock♡ Mike Patton's Vocals are the Best!
Well I guess we can't all like the same stuff but I love this song, out of all the singles from Angel Dust this one is my favourite, weird how we all have different taste huh lol but anyway thank you for the reaction, I appreciate your honesty as always ❤️
It was a landmark moment in early 90's rock. So many people pre-internet have a similar story about listening to "Angel Dust" for the first time. It was the biggest troll an indie band ever did on a mainstream label...even still to this day I think. FNM really went out of their way to sabotage being mainstream more than any artist I can think of in pop/rock history. "Angel Dust" ended FNM's mainstream career but made them and Mike Patton legendary. The first time I heard "Malpractice" I thought there was something wrong with my CD.
Another great video mate. This song was one of the singles from the album when it came out. It’s working title was “Japanese” for reasons I’m sure are obvious now. ;) Regarding the sounds, Roddy (keyboardist) triggered samples from his keyboards a lot on this albums, so any unusual sounds you hear are because of that. Another little known fact is that Angel Dust is one of the most sample-heavy rock albums ever produced. They had to get clearance for some of the sounds used on it too (the airport announcer at the beginning of Crack Hitler, for example).
Jae Rah give Mother Love Bone some love, “Gentle Groove”, “Chloe Dancer/ Crown of Thorns” or “Bone China” I think you will enjoy them! Oh and “A Quick One” from The Who? 😉 but you knew that? Lol
Gotta do Last Cup Of Sorrow. Love that you've kept with FNM. Another great reaction🙂🙂🙂😘 I really don't mind when you don't like a song, to me it just shows you're authentic.
Probably my favorite FTM song but I respect your reaction just as much. I have a feeling a lot of reactors say they love whatever requests that are sent.
Although I am a FNM addict since 20 years and this is one of favorites: what I like about you: you really like FNM but when you don’t feel it, you don’t feel it and you let us know in an respectful way
A fair reaction.:) Hey, check out the video of it, it`s impressive, maybe you`ll like it better.:) During that time, Mike and the keyboardist Roddy were into a sub-genre of heavy electronic music called `The Industrial` - that`s the reason why they used a lot of keyboard samples on this album - both the existing ones and the self-made ones, many of which, you wouldn`t believe - were created by Mike, sampling himself and making the odd sound effects into microphone that Roddy later took and synth-triggered them, equally in the studio recording process and during the live performances.:) C-ya!:)
The fact Jay liked that RHCP song (decent, but nothing special) and didn’t like this that much kind of hurts lmao. Good reaction, though. Can’t complain about more Faith No More.
If you pay attention to the lyrics it's Mike Patton commenting on his dad who was some kind of high school football coach or something. You'll also notice that he repeats hut hut like hut hut hike. FNM way ahead of their time
Jay, Dig your reviews! Please Check out the Band Crack The Sky - Sea Epic or Flash Light. Older but very Progressive, it is one of the tightest Bass and Drums of the 70's. Even if you don't review gotta check it out. Thanks
The layers of sound. The variety of sounds. First time I heard this album it sounded like a muddled mess, too; but the ear gets enlightened over time. You'll never go back to Top 40 pop music after fucking around with bands like this.
Hey, i miss your heavy miss your previous video intro with the heavy set brother dancing with crazed look on his face. I trust you changed it for some reason that I wouldn't know about. You're sentiments about this song hold true for me as well although I am biased against hard rock and find it assaults my delicate sensibilities way too often.
Probably my least listened to FNM record. I can see what they wanted to achieve, some tracks just dont hit me though & the production isn't the best. The song "King For a Day" on the album after this one shows what they're really capable of. I highly recommend it!
Production is one of the best on any early 90s album, so I don’t know where you’re coming from with that. I think this is FNMs greatest album, but to each their own... And yeah, King For a Day is a killer song that he should react to.
@@YuYu-ci4qm there's no denying AD is a killer record, I just prefer the brighter, dryer production on KFADFFAL. I mean, FNM are my favourite band ever & I'll always defend them but I probably listen to AD less than their other records.
