In a world filled with brute Greenskins, horrifying Undead, scheming Skaven, the ruinous Chaos, marauding Beastmen and more, the men of the Empire stands strong. Armed with faith, steel and gunpowder, they hold the line against the terrors of the Old World
Little did they know, that the horrors of the new world are stalking upon their borders...Ancient kings who laid resting in desert sands stir to life to subjugate all under them, horrible, murderous elven tyrants who seek them for slaves for their war engines, and arrogant Asur who see them as a threat soon to fall under the boot and heel of chaos...

@@MichaelDavis-mk4me I guess due to the random nature of the game, it may have also been a different experience for each of us. I remember karak hirn, the skaven clan, VC, Vlad, and wissenland declaring war on me in the first 20 something turns. Wissenland declared war after stirland and averland fell to the vamps. It was a lotta fun hehe, clicking end turn was kinda scary at times!
@@jesusrebornkilledbornagain7889 Never had wissenland declare war on me, I usually try to focus on the non-human threats. I just kill the greenskins then go wipe the vampires. Vampire armies are so bad and the Empire is so damn powerful you mop the floor with the ennemy. It's my favorite campaign, not the easiest or hardest, just hard enough for my taste. Belegar is a bit too much, it takes an eternity to accomplish anything when you can only have half an army.

WH2TW menu theme is very majestic and makes me think of LOTR actually which is definitely not a bad thing... But this theme, damn. This is just something else. One of my favorite themes of all time.
By Faith we will conquer our daemons! By Steel we will kill traitors! By Gunpowder we will destroy Chaos! Bruh, I wish someone put this quote of mine in WHF.

@@ian2372 Machine-God protect me. But in Fantasy I believe in Sigmar. And I will always believe, no matter what horrible creature like Tzeentch will said.
4 tanks, 6 gunners, 2 rocket artillery, 1 fire mage, 4 Demigryph Knight, 2 greatswords and the Emperor Karl Franz riding his mighty Griffin Deathclaw with wielding Ghal Maraz!
Infantry is garbage, never recruit a single unit of that. Here is a better army : Karl Franz (or any lord), a wizard of light, a captain 4 Hellstorms, 13 Handguns. Now you are in buisness. You always want full range armies no matter your faction unless it's a full infantry faction, range is OP in this game and mele is complete trash. Also demigryphs suck and you should never recruit them, reiksguard are superior in every aspect due to having more entities. Sorry, I just play too much total war warhammer (4000 hours with both games) and spam range to win and needed to share.
@@KalinoursEU Rockets are really good, not hellblasters. If you want to spam artillery in blobs, replace hellblasters with rockets. Rockets are cheaper, stronger, have more range and are not obstructed by every tiny hills on the map.
@@KalinoursEU Just send your lord and captain in the cav and the Hellstorms will wipe out that cav in a single volley. Or you can just let them charge your handguns. The AI is stupid so it always sends the cav to far ahead allowing you to piece-meal them. Honestly, I really hate hellblasters, they are like the pathetic child of an Organ Gun (which are insanly good).
I truly adore how in a world of fantasy where beast as strong as dinosaurs and others as powerful as vampire lords exists, I still feel the need to play men.
Same. I think it's because when we grew up and learned our history as kids we looked up to knights. Atleast Europeans and I'm sure americans etc did the same. It was them who were the real super heroes. Sometimes even listening to tales of knights vs trolls or dragons. Now when we see worlds like this, naturally alot of us pick the faction we can see ourselves in, which in this case is either Bretonnia or the Empire(or even Kislev). It's a nice feeling playing together with the average man while facing unimaginable horrors.
I imagine subconsciously, there is something so glorious about the relatively 'ordinary' humans withstanding the endless onslaught of supernatural forces of destruction which surround them. (Chaos, Skaven, Greenskins, etc.)
If they ever make a Warhammer Fantasy streaming live action series I want this to be the opening track and I want to see it overlayed with gloriously animated warhammer illustrated art of different creatures and heroes like the one in this video.
Everytime I hear this, I can hear a poor soul yelling "The gods have abandon us!" From the game as the imperials fight to hold off the hoards of Chaos.
I just won a very tough battle against Vlad's army and another Sylvanian half stack. It was early campaign, with units like Free Company Militia etc. Sylvanian music was playing throughout, as the enemy forces were overwhelming. They even broke our line and routed most of our troops, but not without suffering terrible losses, including Vlad and Isabella. So our routed troops rallied one by one and defeated their reinforcements. One Mortars unit trudged through the mud to get back on their guns, reposition them and keep firing. At the end, when the balance of power was finally in our favor, this music started playing. I haven't felt such a rush in a very long time. By the end, I was emotional. Long live the Empire!
Same, bruh. As fan of both WHF and WH40K, along with my father (he played as Empire in all board games back in good old 80s) I never thought my dream will come true. I'm waiting now for Total War: Warhammer 40k.
As well it should, that means they've done a good job. The Empire is reminiscent of a more militant Holy Roman Empire, which is quite close to the Teutonic Order's MO. Indeed, the Empire has many Knightly Orders of its own... and as of today, you can use them in WHII!
@@JB-xl2jc sorry for my ignorance, but what kept away from using those knightly orders in wh2 before you published your comment? And what are they exactly? Sorry, I'm new to the series.
@@erensametkaratas6593 No worries! They hadn't been added yet; content has continually been produced for Warhammer II (and I, technically, seeing as Mortal Empires is a combination of them). When I made that comment is when a big Empire patch had just come out, adding a bunch of units unique to each province.
@@erensametkaratas6593 Yep, you got it. Those weren't in the base game. In fact, the "standard" regiments of renown that you can recruit based on hero level- those were added a few patches into TW:WH I. I am very impressed with how much they've fleshed out the game with ongoing updates.
I think everyone should play or read Warhammer Fantasy media. It's a very different universe, others teach you about the strength of character, the beauty of hope and all this nice stuff. which is fine and necessary but Warhammer teaches you something darker. The world is ending, evil will win. It doesn't matter. Pick up your sword, pack those bolts, load the guns, prime the rockets. Summon the Elector Counts. The Empire endures.
Fuck the End Times Nothing but a giant pile of Chaos fan-fiction made cannon because Games Workshop never truly knew how to promote Fantasy Battle before Total War Warhammer and Vermintide

Man it's such a shame that such a killer theme is so underutilized. It's used a lot in the campaign map music, sure, but I feel like it could stand to be used in the battle themes way more often as well. Also I can't get over how kickass the name is

wish they did a variation of this song instead of something totally different. this song pops into my head now and then because it's just the most badass theme
Even though Empire is kinda average and vanilla and could really use a rework I still come back to them to replay them AS I HOLD GAL MARAZ, YOU MAY BOW!
Average? I think not, humans in general whether sci fi or fantasy, are always underated, but having the feeling of overcoming the scarier races, like lizardmen or daemons, or even besting the knife ears and vampires, makes me feel humanity is practically one of the coolest races to play because tho we're not special we can still beat other races.
